| Next Friday (Feb 13) sees Das Pop kick off their latest UK tour. The band’s first show is in Brighton’s Concorde 2 and as it’s three whole months since they last played at the venue (when they were on tour with Alphabeat) anticipation of their return is running high. | Monday, January 26, 2009 Good to see most of you made it to the other side. After reluctantly opening our eyes on January first (or rather January second in Reinhard’s case) the truth slowly started seeping in. An ominous yet far from ambiguous message had arrived from Das Pop HQ stating dryly that if there was any mischief to get up to, any walkabouts to be gone onto, any blasts to be had, it would have to be now, right now, before - and I quote- "all hell breaks loose". You will forgive us chucking the January blues somewhere in a dark corner before heading out into the crisp, crisp world outside out doorstep. We have been scattered all over the place. Watching the sun come up in Paris, reading fat classics on a bullet train, frantically kissing the girls that deserve to be kissed and then going round the bend in Ghent once again are just a few of the items we struck off of our list. We miss the blue van, though. And the landscape as you drive up to Glasgow. We miss your cheers as we come on stage or the way you sing along in your crazy way. Even the cardboard sandwiches from Little Chef are missed. If only a tiny bit. That said, we are back! Gearing up for our first headline tour in the UK. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, go out and get them now. Tell your friends to come as well, for they deserve it. We swear it will be amazing and we wouldn't want to do it without you! | Saturday, December 27, 2008 Hohoho. After spending the best part of autumn in our blue van, cruising the UK from top to bottom and back again, playing our little hearts out to the best crowds you could possibly wish for and a short yet vigourous visit of Scandavia, the dark days of december found us joining the insane party circus known as Radio Soulwaxmas. This ominous odyssey took us, your Belgian friends of Das Pop, alongside legends such as Erol Alkan, Justice, Tiga and the mighty Soulwax round the bend once more. The hipsters of Paris and wide eyed ravers of Berlin, the big toothed giants of Rotterdam and a herd of 15000 bucking Belgians made all of us forget about road weariness, scurvy and having a well deserved rest altogether. We are eyeing the horizon, tugging the ropes, ready to go again. A marvelous 2009 is roughly what we are wishing upon you, love, Das Pop. | ||||

| Wednesday, November 19, 2008 As our journey draws to a close, do you see us shivering from malnourishment or softly whimpering our days away? No, you will find us side by side in the proud blue van, sitting up straight, our eyes wide open and full of anticipation as we drive into another town with the cooling towers of yet another nuclear power plant looming over us, ready to take it by storm with a rapid succession of our Belgian songs. What a week it has been. From Glasgow to Manchester, from Doncaster to Preston: it's all become a wild wild blur of niceness. People everywhere are singing along and making en masse promises to attend our shows whenever we are next in town. These are verbal agreements and therefore binding by law. We are delighted by the enthousiasm by which we are greeted every night. Reinhard in particular generates a savage roar when he enters the stage. People cannot get enough of him and, more specifically, of his beard. Girls have been known lunging straight at it, seemingly unable to stop themselves. On our Bebo page, a man who calls himself Inky claimed to like Reinhard very much because, said Inky, « he looks like Jesus ». For your benefit I have included illustrations of both Jesus from Nazareth and Reinhard from Destelbergen. Today we are in Derby. Do they have two football teams here and what would happen if they played against each other? It boggles the mind. | ||||
