| Folks We're just back from an 800 mile round trip to Birmingham and High Wycombe for a tremendous gig at the Roadhouse, plus a great session/interview with British Forces Radio with the show due to be aired on 9th July. The next stage of our mini-tour supporting Miami's 'Nothing Rhymes With Orange' is on Sat 20th June, 8pm at Pivo Pivo, Waterloo Street, Glasgow. http://www.myspace.com/pivopivo Then we play the Fete De La Musique at the French Institute on Sunday 21st June, 5pm, FREE Randolph Cres, Edinburgh. | Loads! Loads we say! Reviews, radio play and a gig! The Daily Record Reviewed the EP on Friday. THE band's 2007 debut album The Well Dressed Thief included the song Rockstar. But judging by the band's new music - the leather trousers are in storage. Always a group that refused to play one style, on the Drinking Den EP at least it seems they are going for that crusty folk beloved of The Wonder Stuff or The Levellers. The title tune dances like a wacked out hippy around a fire. The Actor could be from The Wonder Stuff's back catalogue. The bass bounces along so The Actor can't be John Gielgud. Maybe a youngster like David Tennant. Call Me Round is back to trippy folk and blissed out vocals. Even final tune The Ringmaster which starts with a great rip-roaring guitar falls back into an acoustic campfire guitar blur. But there's a nice line "my god the clown's are coming" and the famous circus theme played on the guitar. EP Launch this Friday night at Maggie's Chamber (upstairs in The 3 Sisters) Cowgate Edinburgh. Doors open 9pm, FREE. | NEW VIDEO – “ASSASSINS” We were delighted to be approached by young film student Fraser Strachan to make a video for one of our songs. Together with Fraser we decided on Assassins from the album The Well Dressed Thief. After 2 days filming and a lot of hard work we think Fraser has done a tremendous job in capturing the song and the band. As a special bonus there is a video of out takes from the shoot with a popular Rieser live tune as backing track. You can view the videos at our official website – www.rieser.co.uk. | Happy New Year! There is a new RIESER online experience at www.rieser.co.uk. The news section will be updated regularly so please watch this space for the lastest news from Riesoria! We are delighted to announce that a new 4-track EP will be recorded at Chem19 Studios, Hamilton in January and released in February or March. The recording session will be engineered by Andy Miller who has worked with The Fratellis, My Latest Novel and Sons & Daughters. The EP will be released as a download from all the usual sites including iTunes, Napster and HMV Digital. It will also be available as a Limited Edition CD in bespoke packaging. The band have been rehearsing and writing a lot of new material and are delighted to be able to get into the recording studio so early in 2009. There are also a number of gigs already booked to support this release. Checkout the Gigs page.
