Hi,

Its been a while since we posted anything, but today has provided us with a perfect excuse.

Today, ticket went on sale for our next big London gig, which i'm pleased to be able to announce will be at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Wednesday 28th October.

This venue is awesome... the biggest we've ever played in and definately the biggest we've headlined, so its a very big deal.... other people playing there this year include: Katy Perry, Metro Station, Taylor Swift, The Script, Amy Winehouse, The Fratellis and Paul Weller, to name a few!

Whilst i know its quite a while away, we're already very excited and suggest that you book your tickets early to avoid disappointment, particularly if you want to be standing. (there are 4 levels, one standing, the rest seated). (Buy tickets www.therileysmusic.co.uk/gigs.htm)

The gig is during half term, and is 14+ (although under 14s can attend if accompanied by an adult)

Advanced ticket sales will cost £10, (it will cost £12 on the door on the night), however we're offering the first 500 tickets at £8, and anyone who wants to sort out a group booking (eight people or more) should also contact us about cheaper tickets. (More info www.therileysmusic.co.uk/gigs.htm)

We've yet to confirm any support acts, but we will have two... if you are in a band and would like to support us, please send us a message.

Other news....

Victory Cigar will be released as a download only single on July 12th, with Don't Lose Hope and Quite Frankly as b sides. You can hear the demos of these tracks on our myspace page.

We're playing at Guilfest on Saturday 11th July, supporting the likes of Brian Wilson, The Charlitans, Athlete, Happy Mondays, Motorhead and more!... If you're interested in getting tickets, we can get them cheaper for you than it says on the official website, so please message us.

The Living Room Tour is about to be planned... if you would like Joe and me to come and play to a group of your mates in your living room in August please contact us.

There's some other stuff too, but these is already too long! This awesome news is all because we have such great fans... we love you all.

I hope you're well, and to see you soon.

Discount Rileys stuff, billy bragg, and fitness stuff!368 Tage her

Hey!

how are you?

we've had a good week. (well i have!)

Firstly, we're going to making a flier soon that will give you a 20% discount to our merch if you come to one of our tour gigs. Also if you turn up wearing a rileys t-shirt (even if its home made!) you will receive a free tour poster!

I saw billy bragg on monday night, not sure if you've heard of him, i've mentioned him on here before though. He's an absolute legend, and it was one of the best gigs i've ever been to! its always a great feeling walking out at the end, feeling great and inspired! Kate nash and badly drawn boy both joined him for a song too! was awesome! simply awesome!... ill say it again! it was AWESOME!

The fitness regime is well underway. Joe and i are eating very healthily now, and have had only one take away, we shared a medium pizza! Going to the gym on sat! its a rather scary prospect! We're doing a lot of upper body work, trying to tone up! maybe a topless rileys photoshoot could be on the cards, but then we'd have to try and get martin to join us on this campaign, but he's just got a new chinchilla, so we probably won't see him for years! we're still waiting for james to give us his fitness plan, apparently its now 6 pages long, but will be a waste of time if he doesn't get it to us before the tour!

Coming soon... The Rileys xmas song! free download! :D

have a good weekend!

Trying to get fit... day 2377 Tage her

After much discussion, joe and i decided that we need to get fit for the tour... i get exhausted after one 30 min set in a week, got to be able to do much more than that.

So... we've started a regeme (is that how thats spelt? who cares!). We've been racking our brains... james has an A level in PE, and told us he was going to write us a programme, (we're still waiting, but in rehearsal yesterday he did say we should do shuttle runs!)

Day 1: the diet is starting well, joe and i had a reheated roast dinner, and got really drunk... no exercise undertaken, but we did have a two hour rehearsal, so some energy was used, and we didn't have a bacon roll before hand.

Day 2: we went food shopping today, Joe has decided that we need to go on a fresh fruit/veg and meat diet. so we stocked up :D i ran to the train station this morning, but not sure if that counts. tomorrow, i'm getting up at 6.30 to go for a run around acton park! come and join me!

Any ideas and suggestions will be extremely appreciated!

We've added the trailer to our video for Do You Feel Me which will be up in january! :D

Also we had a photo shoot last week and i've put up some of the photos, thanks to all who have commented already... there are some great ones still to come!

hope you are well

Stereo Decade, and how many Rileys does it take to change a tyre?420 Tage her

we had another night out on sunday, this time joe joined james and i, and the band we went to see were called Stereo Decade (www.myspace.com/stereodecade). A few things to say about the gig...
1. i can't believe how lazy some promoters are in london. They put on shows night after night, but they are poorly organised and shite. Stereo Decade are a great pop rock band but shared the bill with two dark metal bands! who benefits from this? the dark metal bands didn't bring anyone, and if they did, their fans are unlikely to like a pop rock band, and the pop rock bands fans aren't going to enjoy the dark metal... Surely there are enough pop rock bands and enough dark metal bands around london that they shouldn't have to be sharing a bill. This way bands can really build their fanbase, and fans get value for money watching music they might actually like. If promoters caught on to this they'd make more money too as people might just go out to see their night, regardless of whether its a band they know or not! Sorry for the rant, but it really bugs me.

2. Stereo Decade are awesome... you should check out their myspace... really catchy songs with interesting lyrics... and for guys doing their a levels, they're really tight! always a good show, and i'm glad they're supporting us at the islington academy... go and see these guys... they will probably be huge!

3. On the way home, i clipped a curb, and my tyre popped. How many Rileys does it take to change a tyre you may ask... well if Martin had been there, the answer would be 1, and it would have taken 2 minutes. However, we aren't as manly as martin, so rather embarrassingly we had to call out the aa. In fairness, we did try, we got the car jacked up (although we used the jack incorrectly according to our lovely mechanic), and got the hubcap off, but thats where we got stuck. Joe went and got pizza, while james and i stood there, under a bridge in camden, waiting. A girl walked past and offered to help... we claimed we didn't need it though, we were just taking our time.

in hindsight i realised.

i should have got the night bus.

Only On A Nightbus...422 Tage her

James and i went out last night to watch some bands play (support unsigned music and all that!). it was an ok night... the bands were ok... nothing thats going to change the world, but one in particular (4Hours) have a lot of potential and with some guidance could do ok... they certainly have some great fans!

It was on our way home that things got interesting...
At the bus stop for the N207, we got talking to an Australian and a Polish Man, who seemed to have just met but struck up a friendship of some sort. The australian man lives in a van in his mates garden, which he claimed is great, but a little cold. The polish guy is a a squatter, loved English girls and was eating a massive polish sausage that stank... but i still wanted to try it...

In the ten minutes we were waiting the following things were discussed...
1. James is not quite as gay as the australian at first thought, although his hair style was making him quite dubious as to james' real sexuality (this was despite james being with a pretty hot girl at the time!)
2. I'm going to go to poland next summer, in the australians van, and staying with the Polish mans family in order to avoid getting beaten up, despite the fact the polish people are apparently very welcoming and friendly (i was getting confused by this point).
3. Just because you work in England, doesnt mean you have to pay tax, apparently, only english people do this, as we're stupid.
4. the new shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush is going to be the biggest in Europe and opens on Halloween (but only 85% of the shops will be ready)

It was at this point that a little old guy started getting involved. He was working on the shopping centre and thinks its going to be great for the area, and all that...

We then got on the bus... we sat in front of a guy who had been on the bus for quite some time, and was getting agitated by the fact that the bus driver was going so slowly, (apparently it had been passed by 20 other n207s, which is illegal, as you're not allowed to overtake a bus... he knew this because he drives a train.) the mans rants were causing the little old guy from the bus stop to get distressed and angry (he later apologised and justified his actions by saying that he had a bad night, no one had offered to buy him a beers so he had to buy his own, and his cocaine was shite! yes he did actually say this!) and for a moment, i thought a fight might break out... but by asking everyone "do you feel me?", i managed to divert the attention to myself... :D

it ended up with us getting home safe and everyone having new friends... This story is pointless and boring, but why is it that we only ever engage with strangers on night buses... you never see this kind of thing happening on a bus during the day... surely it can't just be because of alcohol... it doesn't happen at taxi ranks or in fast food shops... just on the bus...

Anyways... this may have bored you, but if you have an opinion or want to tell me to shut up, leave us a comment! :D

Tickets are onsale for our MASSIVE Islington Academy gig in February... have a look at our myspace profile (which i've just redesigned, comments and criticism on that are also very welcome!) and reserve your ticket now! :D

hope you're having a good weekend.

Hey

its been a while, and lots has been going on...

we've got a lot of cool stuff coming up, including our Do You Feel Us Tour in February, which will support the release of our next single, Do You Feel Me? which will be available on February 16th. This might all seem a long way off, but its important that we get these things planned.

Full schedule to be released soon... we'll be playing venues in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Sheffield, Lincoln and Manchester.

Our London date is already confirmed: Wednesday 18th February (during half term): The Islington Academy (not bar academy) 14+, 800 capacity, tickets £7, support from Wise Man Said + more to be announced. Standing tickets only. You can order your tickets now (click the buy now buttonon our myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/therileysmusic) so you can collect them on the door. This is the biggest gig we've ever done, and the venue is incredible... i hope all you london folks can get along. Tickets will also be available from band members... but not yet. This event will sell out, so make sure you pre order

We're playing at schools and colleges at the moment, if you would like us to play at your charity event at school let us know, we have all the equipment to put on the show and we don't charge! please get in contact

Its been a funny couple of weeks, we had a good couple of gigs. Got very drunk playing drinking games watching jackass the movie. Had a crazy photo shoot in richmond. Got a great deal on some fried chicken after our westcliff gig, but james then threw it on the floor, dog hairs and fried chicken don't mix very well. Have some students making more music videos for us. Someone offered to train me to be a heavyweight boxer. And most importantly, we discovered that it doesn't matter how poor you are, you must find time to have a beer everynow and then :D

Hope you are well... James is now replying to all your comments and messages on myspace, he'd love to hear from you... i'm doing the facebook side of things, so if you'd like to talk to me, add us on facebook.

We love you all.

Dave
