GMAC and TKD Scotland held a joint training session on Sunday 21st June, at GMAC Livingston. The session was run by Master Wallace 7th Degree (Aberdeen) and Mr Mark Hutton 6th Degree (East Kilbride). In all over 40 students attended the training session, 10 of whom were from GMAC. The squad session consisted of pattern training, pad and sparring drills and sparring. The session also covered leg conditioning and flexibility training.

The squad training sessions are open to all those, 12 years old up, minimum grade of 3rd Kup.

Well done to the follwing medal winners at the WKA Scottish Championships:

Daniel Locke: Bronze medal Junior Boys >70kg Light Continuous.

Chris Dickson: Silver medal Senior Men <80kg Light Continuous

Wojtek Okapiec: Gold medal Junior Boys <45kg Light Continuous

Dear GMAC TKD,

We were at our son, Josh's 6 month review at the child development clinic at Beatlie School recently.  This is an assesment clinic where in attendance are 1 of his paediatric consultants, her SHO, physio,  OT and speach therapist.

As you know Josh also has regular physio and OT input out with the clinic to help him along and also wears addapted boots to help with his balance etc.

On the day his physio was most delighted to see what a HUGE improvement there was in Josh since his last assesment.  I advised them that since January Josh has been Tae Kwon-Do classes twice a week and is thoroughly enjoying it.  She said that this would be the result of his improvement and that the exercises she carries out with Josh and would ask us to continue at home, would not show such an improvement as the improvement gained in his Tae Kwon-Do training.

His consultant and physio asked that we continue Tae Kwon-Do with Josh as this has shown to have a huge impact on his motor skills and co-ordination and they are so delighted with his progress that if in 6 months he has shown yet more improvement, they may discharge his from this clinic.

So for all the hard work and effort that you and your staff have put into helping my son's development we thank you.
