FAQ’s
What subjects did you study at school?
I took physics, maths and english for A levels

What qualifications do you need for your job?
Maths and problem solving skills. Knowing how a power station works is helpful too. A scientific or numerate degree is a good start once you’ve finished school.

How much can I earn?
About 22-25K when you start out on a graduate scheme. After 5 years, with a couple of promotions, you can be on significantly more.

What other careers can Maths and Science lead to?
Almost anything! My friends with similar A-levels are lawyers, teachers, engineers, accountants and vets.

What advice can you give someone who wants to do your job?
Keep up maths and science at school, and complete a numerate degree at university. Apply for graduate schemes with companies that work in the areas you are interested in, and look for opportunities to move jobs within or outside the company to build your knowledge.
