	EA SPORTS reveals new online mode in FIFA 09 that enables gamers to create their own clubs in Be A Pro: 10 vs 10 online team play. EA SPORTS today revealed a new online mode called FIFA 09 Clubs, designed for PLAYSTATION 3 and XBOX 360, that enables gamers to form or join user-controlled ‘clubs’ anywhere in the world. Through FIFA 09 Clubs, gamers can form or join clubs of up to 50 friends and field their strongest team when competing in Be A Pro: 10 v 10 Online Team Play, a feature that enables 20 people on 20 different consoles anywhere in the world to connect online to play a single match of FIFA 09. FIFA 09 Clubs will determine the best virtual team in the world. Clubs are ranked based on total points and placed in a division. Clubs are relegated and promoted to different divisions based on their performance during the season. The new football season is almost upon the hordes of faithful fans, and just as the sport is referred to as the world game, FIFA 09 will feature a healthy range of flavours from across the globe. Acts slated to lend their tunes hail from regions such as Europe, the USA, South America, and Australia, resulting in a squad of 41 tracks from 21 nations. This year, the UK has the largest contingent, represented by an assorted flavour of pop, dance, indie, and alternative rock, with Scotland's The Fratellis and Ireland's The Script, as well as England's The Ting Tings, Kasabian, The Kooks, Foals, and Welsh songstress Duffy included in the mix. As has been the case in recent years, there's a solid lineup of electronic acts including CSS, Cut Copy, Datarock, Hot Chip, Ladytron, and frequent EA collaborator Junkie XL. Almost as diverse as football fans themselves, the game will be available in 18 languages across 37 countries worldwide. 	FIFA 09: Updated Impressions...	469 giorni fa
	FIFA 09 takes the virtual pitch to the next level with improved player physics and more responsive controls. It’s never an easy task to improve upon an already strong series (especially one that is released annually), but FIFA 09 manages to do just that. FIFA 09 features the most realistic player physics to ever grace the series, while the ability to augment your team’s tactics provides greater customization. Player physics were a major focus in this year's game. FIFA 09 will, for the first time in the series, have players jostling for position and headers. During collisions and jostles, each player's size and physical attributes will dictate how the animation plays out. Generally, larger players will be able to hold off smaller defenders, while smaller players will be able to use their speed to avoid contact. The improvement in player physics translates to the goalkeepers as well. Long-standing issues with inaccurate goalkeeper reactions (goalies making incredibly hard stops at times while at other times allowing the easiest of goals) have been addressed in FIFA 09. Goalkeepers seem to have more realistic reaction times in FIFA 09, and their animations play out more smoothly. These smoother player animations apply to other positions as well. Improved player trapping (bringing the ball down to control) and runs limit the amount of time your player is caught in an animation and out of your control. The result is that controls are more responsive and offenses are more dynamic than in years past. Despite the improved controls, chaining together multiple superstar moves is still difficult to do. EA asserts that this is by design so as to limit their use to only skilled players. One move the offense won't be able to ride this year is the "through ball from a sideline sprinter" technique; it isn't nearly as overpowered as it was in FIFA 08. Though the move will still yield goals, defenders can disrupt interior passing more effectively, making this a riskier move. Another major addition debuting in FIFA 09 is the custom team tactics. These tactics are essentially a compilation of various sliders dictating AI reactions during buildup play and scoring opportunities, and they will let you augment your team's strategy around your strengths. The slider menu includes a chalkboardlike diagram showing you how your players will now react based on the settings you choose. Although it's a powerful tool, the mechanic still works on the basis of risk and reward. For instance, you could increase your team's aggression slider to relentlessly attack the ball, but doing so may place defenders out of position. FIFA 09 also offers 11-on-11 online play (though we weren't able to test it out). There will probably be more information on this at the Leipzig convention next week, so check back for updates on the game.
