| Bucky Covington returns to "American Idol" this week | 602 days ago | |||
| American Idol takes a trip to Tennessee this week as the top rated show catches up with several of its favorite former finalists. Airing Wednesday, April 2nd at 9:00pm EDT on FOX, Bucky Covington will return to American Idol in a taped interview from his new hometown of Nashville , Tennessee where he updates the show's 30 million viewers on the latest happenings since competing on season five, including the release of his debut CD. The segment also features fellow AI alums Phil Stacey and Bo Bice. In the same week that Bucky returns to "American Idol" he is also excited to celebrate his second consecutive top 10 hit as "It's Good To Be Us" jumps four spots to #9 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart. The song's music video includes a cameo by freestyle motocross champion Cowboy Kenny Bartram and is currently on CMT and GAC's Top 20 countdown shows. Click for more on the 2008 CMT Music Awards at CMT.com. Bucky Covington 's self-titled CD released in April 2007 and opened at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He wrapped 2007 as Country Aircheck's #1 New Artist based on the strength of his top 5 first single "A Different World" and his current hit, "It's Good To Be Us." In addition to competing on the fifth season of American Idol, Bucky's national television appearances have included Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends. Bucky is currently on tour with Dierks Bentley on the singer's "Throttle Wide Open" tour. | ||||

| New week, new chart highs... | 603 days ago | |||
| Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" is now #9 on the Mediabase weighted listings and #11 on the Top 500. That's the perfect way to start the new week! We'll keep the requests going--single digit territory sure feels sweet. Bucky's got a few days off before the Throttle Wide Open tour starts up again in Jackson, Tennessee on April 3rd (last-minute seats might be available at http://www.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=1... ), and that American Idol segment with Bucky, Bo Bice and Phil Stacey airs the night before, on April 2nd. An exciting week is ahead--hang on... Finally, here's a sweet treat at YouTube to wrap up the weekend--enjoy Lisa/Judge's beautiful montage of concert photos set to "It's Good to Be Us" at http://youtube.com/watch?v=sPY2pvPoDec. Lots of great images we haven't seen before--thanks to Lisa and the Florida fans for sharing! | ||||

| Bucky's Top Ten fun continues... | 605 days ago | |||
| ("It's Good to be Us" is in the Top 10 on the Mediabase weighted chart this morning--but he'll still need our heavy requests, since is powerful labelmates Rascal Flatts are right behind him! Call and/or email your friendly local country DJ today...) Yes, Bucky Covington will be there at the Curb Event Center on April 14th to find out whether he'll be taking home that belt buckle trophy for "A Diffferent World" at the 2008 CMT Music Awards--but last year, he was there as your "tour guide" for a hilarious series of CMT Outsider web-only preview segments for the gala event. If you didn't get a chance to watch these, they're a must-see. Bucky (pre-album release) takes you inside and outside the Curb Center for a look at the preparations for the big day and has some interesting chats with people--and a few inanimate objects--along the way. Here's the link: http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/coving... (Sweet irony: at one point in the first segment, Bucky shows off the CMT Music Awards mosh pit and says something along the lines of "this is probably the closest I'll ever get to that stage..." Words can't describe how happy we all are that he was absolutely wrong about that!) Oh yeah, we're excited--and we'll be even more excited when he wins. Help make it happen-- register at CMT, vote now, and recruit friends, family members, neighbors and more. Voting ends April 11--that's just two weeks from today. See you there! | ||||

| Concert photos! | 616 days ago | |||
| Bucky Covington's well-received set on Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open tour is being covered beautifully by his talented fans and by some very gracious radio stations, too. Earlier today, we linked to terrific concert photo galleries by concertgoers; this afternoon, WQYK in Tampa has a great gallery of shots from Bucky's interview at the station and performance at http://wqyk.com/pages/1830820.php. (Looks like there'll be an interview video at WQYKtv.com soon, too--check back later for that one...) Here's the link to the WQYK Throttle Wide Open page, featuring Bucky, Dierks and Luke Bryan. Gator Country 101.9 ( http://www.gatorcountry1019.com/phot... ) has a short but sweet photo gallery from the Estero show posted today--don't miss that classic trio shot at the very end... And at Gator 107.9 in Myrtle Beach (http://gator1079.com/Gallery/throttl... ), there's a gallery full of fun shots of Dierks, Bucky and Luke with the station's staff and some charming fans, including our gracious friend (and conference call hostess with the mostess) Hildi. Enjoy! | ||||

| Saturday smiles... | 618 days ago | |||
| Here's a smile to start off our Saturday: Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" is sitting pretty at #14 on the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts, and those bullets are looking a tiny bit plumper every day. The Top 10 quest is on--the only real question is "how soon can we get there?" We'll keep requesting and doing our best to make it happen as quickly as we can... Bucky's also got a connection to another song currently on the charts--if you were able to watch the Crook & Chase show on RFD earlier this month, you saw him with legendary Alabama lead singer (and current solo artist) Randy Owen. Bucky's beautiful ballad, "I'll Walk", was written by Brent Wilson and Lonnie Lee Fowler; turns out that Mr. Wilson co-wrote Randy's very touching single, "Braid My Hair" with Chris Gray. Yep, Nashville's a small world, and it's a generous one, too--100% of the publishing proceeds from "Braid My Hair" will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Visit Randy's site at http://www.randyowen.com and St. Jude's at http://www.stjude.org/ for more info. Have a great Saturday! | ||||
