just to let you know about something amazing happening in Glasgow on Monday 21st, at George Square at 4.30pm...

We want to turn up the volume on our climate change campaign, and give world leaders a wake up call!!
so, come along to George Square at 4.30 and be ready to make a noise! when you arrive, just mill about, then at 4.33pm exactly, there will be a signal and we'll all count down from 100-0. bring bells, drums, whistles, anything that makes a noise.
find out more here http://www.avaaz.org/en/sept21_rsvp/...

Thanks to you guys, Scotland now has a world-leading Climate Change Bill!163 dagen geleden

Thanks to everyone who took part in the Global Warning campaign! Scotland now has a climate change bill we can be proud of, that does our fair share to tackle climate change, and that will really make a difference for those living in poverty.
Theresa, who works with SCIAF partners in El Salvador, said:
“This is a wonderful thing. Climate change is a global problem that will affect us all, but is already affecting the most vulnerable. Scotland is looking outwards at one world, saying we are all in this together, extending a hand of solidarity. You are doing something to change the structures that cause poverty- this law is going to have a tremendous effect.”
Thanks everyone! :D
PS- don't forget to take the next action: making sure the global climate deal is as good as the Scottish one!! go to www.sciaf.org.uk/climatejustice to be part of it!

Scotland needs to lead!237 dagen geleden

Hi everyone- check out our pix from the stop climate chaos scotland rally outside parliament on Wed 22nd April!
hundreds of people came out to call for strong action now on climate change- because people living in poverty are already being hit hardest. Scotland is creating a climate change bill to cut our emissions- one of the first countries in the world to do this! so it needs to be done right- because when other countries follow they'll look to us to see what we did... We need to show them it CAN and MUST be done!
Take a look at the pics, and sign our petition at www.sciaf.org.uk/climatejustice

Thanks!! :P

PS- don't forget to check out Don Juan's video of THANKS to everyone who gave up something to put money in their WEE BOX...

SCIAF in Poland for UN Climate Talks376 dagen geleden

Hi all,
I'm in Poznan, Poland for the UN climate change talks. today's my first day.
Developing countries have been putting forward proposals for rich nations to give aid to help them adapt to climate change. But sadly, it seems like there's a bit of a stalemate.
Let's hope that the week ahead brings real promises of action. Tomorrow we're launching our campaign on climate change together with Caritas Internationalis and CIDSE- two coalitions that represent almost 200 aid and development agencies! Let's hope our call to action will show the decision-makers that they need to stop dithering!

Send me any questions you have about the climate change talks! More tomorrow,
