If you're wondering where the new E.P is, well it's currently in digital format only - flying around through people and walls, etc. We're in the "design and planning stage" after fully completing the musical side of things and the offical release will be after Christmas. Just can't compete with the X Factor Xmas single. To (yule) tide you over 'till then we've got a home recording of Another You up on Bebo and our myspace. | After 4 long days (especially Sunday with outrageous hangovers) in the studio our new E.P is complete. We've yet to print up physical copies so if you want a sneaky peaky at next weeks show go to our myspace: www.themixups.com. | See what I did with the headline? eh? Endless fun. Our new E.P recording starts in less than 2 weeks. Vennel Shuffle with Dancin Feet and Death by Misadventure. Not a bad couple of B sides. We hope to have it ready and printed by our gig at KING TUTS on October 7th. Hope everyone can make it. Since it's a Wednesday night your incentive will be a free copy of the new E.P with every ticket. IF we get it done on time. You know the music industry - it's a shit business son. Also just confirmed is a gig in THE VENNEL on halloween night! Spooky shuffling to be had no doubt. On september 19th we play Klub 21 in Alloa which could be the start of a monthly residence if all goes well. | An unfortunate incident occured on Sunday evening when highflying MixUps drummer Paul Preston broke his foot in a drink related misdadventure. After getting tanked up watching the Leads Paul, Jamie Haffey and Tobias thought it would be a great idea to climb up the rocky embankment near the Yard in Stirling and jump off. Apparently age is catching up with the daredevil drummer as he hit the ground breaking the left foot and severely brusing the right one. There is exclusive footage of mile-high Paul getting wheeled into the ambulance. (contact Tommy Bulge for more details) Obviously this has left leaping Lord Preston unable to play drums for up to 2 months so on Thursday Haffey will be making his first MixUps appearance unexpectedly on drums at Rialtos. We will have a total of 2 hours to practice so should be interesting! The stookie won't be support enough for poor Paulie during his forced vacation so please leave your messages of good will for him here. I'll start: Get well soon Mr P. Now is a good time to build up those biceps so you can hit the drums harder than ever when you return! Jamie Mixup | ||||

| Radio 2 DJ Mark Lamarr gave us a spin on his show picking his favourite track the Normals to broadcast to the nation. Whats the scores George Doors? Also in MixUp land we're playing our first festval next month - the Sterofunk Festival at Strathclyde Park so get your bandanas, waterwings and any other happiness inducing appartus and shake shake. Got a flattering review in Is This Music which we will put up in the next few days along with a review and interview with whatsurmusic.com. Links to follow. Also big shout out to Sammy B at UCA radio for giving Billy Whizz a spin. We hope to be making an appearance on the show soon for some acoustic lovin.
