| Special's Masquerade Ceilidh was a huge success, rasing just under £1400.00 for the charity which has already been allocated to new families looking for help. Everyone who attended and donated prizes cannot be thanked enough and we look forward to seeing you all again at the next event! | ||||

| Apex International Hotel, Edinburgh 8th November 2008, 7pm – 1am Arrive in the Gallery Bar and enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine followed by a delicious 3 course meal. Afterwards, let you hair down and dance with music from the young, dynamic and modern band Celtic Rouge. Sample their music here! Fantastic raffel prizes will be available on the night! Tickes are £25.00 per person and include a 3 course meal and arrival drink. Tables on the nights can seat 12 and will operate on a free seating policy. | A crack team of athletes (well maybe not all) are cyclying for Special on the 14th of September 2008 from Glasgow to Edinburgh with Pedal for Scotland. The 51 mile cycle will raise much needed funds for Special to continue their work throughout Scotland. Each team member will be rasing their own sponsorship money, however you can sponsor the team as a whole through paypal by visiting the events page of the website. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to do the work we do and we are all so thankful! | ||||

| Special are announcing 2 further parent support afternoons taking place in 2008. These afternoons are designed to be very informal, giving the chance for parents & guardians to swap ideas and experiences. Special staff will also be on hand to give advice on our services and also answer any questions on our funding applications. Venues are TBC however the dates are set and will be in the areas stated. Saturday, 6th September 2008 Broxburn/Uphall, West Lothian 12-2pm (light lunch will be provided) Places free and limited to 10. Saturday, 6th December 2008 Edinburgh City Centre, 12-2pm (light lunch will be provided) Places free and limited to 10. Online Lending Library - Hire from a selction of 19 books, free of charge, for up to 3 weeks. We even supply the stamped address envelope!
