| GUY J - Fri 4th April 08 | 613 days ago | ||
| Guy J is a 22 year old hailing from Tel Aviv in Israel. Together with fellow countrymen such as Guy Gerber, Chaim and Shlomi Aber, Guy J has been instrumental in transforming Israel into one of the most exciting countries in the world of electronic dance music in recent years. DJing since the age of 15 and producing since he was 18, his rapid rise to the forefront of electronic music has been put down to a mature and polished sound that defies his young age. Combining the warmth of progressive house with elements of tech house, techno and minimal, Guy J’s broad musical style saw him become an instant favourite of many of the world’s top DJs, non more so than the legendary John Digweed, who immeadiately signed Guy to his infamous Bedrock label. On top of the Bedrock releases, tracks on other massively respected label’s such as Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, the classic sounds of Renaissance, one of the world’s largest house labels in Azuli and Germany’s techno-monster Traum, have all seen Guy’s popularity soar. With some of his biggest fans including Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshi Tomiie, Gregor Tresher amongst others, one would be forgiven for thinking that it has taken this Israeli years of fine-tuning to reach this level. But, as he’s live performances also prove, Guy J is a natural talent who is fulfilling his potential in front of a worldwide audience. Despite numerous highly-acclaimed releases, stunning Ableton Live performances and also tracks appearing on John Digweed’s “Transitions Vol 3”, Hernan Cattaneo’s “Sequential 2” and Dave Seaman’s “Therapy Sessions 4” amongst others, Guy J is not one to rest on his laurels and 2008 is lined up to be his biggest year yet. With some fantastic releases due out on Bedrock, Turbo Records and Azuli to name but a few, 2008 is also the year when Guy will begin to take his live sound to a global audience with gigs scheduled throughout Asia, Australia and Europe over the coming months. Also over the last few weeks, John Digweed has emphasised his love for Guy's music and talent by making him a headlining act in the Bedrock tent at this summer's Global Gathering and has also included 2 of Guy's upcoming releases in his new "Transitions Vol 4" mix CD. Guy J’s rich, mature sound is set to be a fixture in electronic dance music for years to come and GET:music are delighted to be bringing this extremely talented performer and producer to Ireland for the very first time. Don’t miss your chance to see him in action at Radio City on Friday 4th April. http://www.myspace.com/guyj1 | |||

| So what’s the fuss all about? Sweden's new wonder kid Marcus Schössow is one of the new breed hardcore, dedicated Swedish artist elbowing his way into the Electronic Dance Scene. Releasing his first single at only 16, at the legendary Swedish Prog label 020 records. Things have just escalated from there. Mr. White, why don’t you give me cock, don’t you love me anymore… I WILL DO ANYTHING! Sounds familiar, what about Umbrella remix? Moog me? Hypnotizer? this list goes on and on. Marcus’s new unique sound is invading every dance festival, every club and every radio station at the moment. So who is he? Marcus Schössow is a 22 year old bloke, Based in Helsingborg Sweden who Found his true love at age 15, in a pair of Technics 1210. The year was 1999. Since that Marcus just fell over head in love and ended up spending all his money on his true love, feeding it with 12” every week ending up building a massive collection of music. When that wasn’t enough, a computer with some recording software helped him feed his second addiction. Making music like he wanted it to sound. Now moving back to 2007, his discogs is full of quality tracks, both solo and collabs. Most famous collab is the Under Sun alias with Fellow Helsingborg whiz kid Sebastian Brandt. Capoeira & Captured are the 2 most known, hammered by all the top trance jocks, and hunting every trance chart on earth. Success and everything, Marcus never was 100% satisfied with the sound, he wanted something that sounded more like HIM. Experimenting with more minimal beats, harder, funkier basses and more club friendly melodies. Most people thought he had gone mad. He was determined to prove them wrong. One cold February night it happened MR White was born, a hybrid track, a mix of all the sub genres he loved. Already a huge success on floors all over the world. After that it was easy, he found the style he wanted to do. This created a wave of new tracks , first up is Moog me with fellow dj/producer, Part time Swede Thomas Sagstad who shared the same ideas and passion. They for-filled a lifelong dream being signed to the Legendary Dance Label Global Underground. Remixing Lutzenkirchen, and now they are working on their Debut artist album. Another track of Marcus that have gotten ALOT of attention is his remix of Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso`s hit-Umbrella. Being hammered on Pete Tong`s Essential mix week after week, getting signed on Refune and Ministry of Sound, it has done endless damage on the dancefloor. With more massive tracks on the way like Swedish Beatballs, Crepuscolo and Deconheartstruction, Markus has created his own signature sound that is taking the dance world by storm. With the tunes, tour dates booked worldwide and his massively succesfully radio show 'Tone Diary' quicky becoming one of the biggest shows around, 2008 looks like it will be a huge year for Markus. It’s only the beginning, watch out, new Swedish export is on its way. http://www.myspace.com/marcusschossow | |||
