dear pennsylvania,

don't you dare vote republican. a vote for the republicans is a vote for a campaign that is driven by using and feeding hatred of race, difference, otherness. plus as a bonus if you look at the republican platform (and john mccain's scornful words) - women.

they are exploiting your fear. "he's not who you think he is" - a confused message but one that ultimately leads the target audience to the worst of their fears; the ones that the republicans have been stoking.

so vote positive. vote for hope. for change (as cliched and co-opted and unspecific as that sounds now). thanks pennsylvania. i know you can do it!

if there's one thing more exciting than guille in the eurovision song content, it is a band containing two of my favourite people and musical heroes... i present to you:

amor de dias featuring lupe núñez-fernández and alasdair maclean

both from bands you may have heard of... pipas & the clientele. :-) in my imagination they sound like caetano and gal - a south london domingo. and if you live in london or copenhagen you can even see them play live. and you are the luckiest people in the world. for not only do you get the aforementioned band, if you're in london you see and hear the return of the pines (yes, that pines, the pam and joe one) and as a bonus: the would-be-goods. i feel tempted to fly over for the weekend.

..... did you know did you know that.......... 1/2 of our old annika bosses are about to ...... play on national spanish tv (next sat 8th march)......... and possibly just possibly make it to.......eurovision !!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? and we have some news for you - there's a few old/revisited songs from the pipas vaults in the surgery at the moment for a very special compilation - we'll tell you more as soon as we can! and though we are slow we are are are working on a record with lots of tenderness laziness and abandon. from b 2 b, brooklyn to brixton now. i was walking around carnaby street the other day looking for a new taylor and lookihere what i bumped into. i always knew he was one multitalented fellow... anyone been to rosie's on coldharbour lane? my new favorite place to eavesdrop. today i heard a lovely lady talk about playing a show with jim o'rourke in nyc 10 years ago. lovely lady, if you're reading this, please reveal yourself! i want to be part of the underground coolness that is brixie's stone! btw laetitia sadier at the windmill 15 dec see you there! xolupe
