| Hey guys! Not said anything here for a while, just been so busy!!! well, i've got to say i feel pretty much settled here now. got an amazing bunch of girls that i'm living with, plus tons of friends from classes and CU that i'm really getting to know quite well. I know my way around now! (i discovered an exciting secret passageway to the realm of the library the other day. it went up magical steps and everything. i had fun) classes... they are going pretty well. lots of work to be done (damn me for picking a sciency subject. 3 hour labs?!? what's that all about???) but yeah, i think i'm keeping up with it ok. i'm still enjoying every minute of it too. everything i've learned here has been so fascinating. even like all your non academicy stuff like learning about god and learning about myself... been going through a lot of that recently aswell. yeah, speaking of which, i'm going along to the CU weekend away this weekend (going to miss halloween cheesy pop!!! how gutted am i?!?) but yeah, hopefully i'll just really learn sooo much this weekend, and really develop my relationship with god tons :-) excited much!!! so yeah, i'd better stop killing time on this now, been spending FAR to much time on facebook etc recently. it's my own fault really but i blame the uni for posted everything online. i mean, i'm sitting here on a computer... what else do you expect me to do? | Hey NEBSters! i hope you's are all doing really well! i miss you guys! anyway, this week has been pretty hectic so far, classes started on monday but i feel like i've been going to classes for about 5 million years! the maths lecturer today was hard-core, i mean seriously hard-core. he talked like arnol schwarzanneger, but boy was he not slow! i spent the entire lecture going "aahh i can't even write as fast as he's going not to mention get my head around ANYTHING that he's saying"... may have to read through those lecture notes haha anyway, i thought i would posibly ask if you guys could say a wee prayer for me. thing is, there are a few different studenty housegroup/bible study/christian/other groups that are going on around uni, and I have been checking them out this past week or so. now i know that i'm really gonna need a bit of guidance from the big G on this one, he's the one that it's ultimately for in the end. so if you guys could mibby send up a few wee prayers just so that i can get a really clear picture of what he wants for me that would be fabby. oh and there is also like a prayer group that i'm pretty keen to join so if any of you guys have wee prayer requests, either message them to me, leave a comment on my page or on the NEBS page, or whatever, that would be really great! ok guys love you and god bless! talk to you soon! xxx | ||||

| Hey guys! i know that i've not missed any Nebs or anything yet but i miss you all already! anyway, I have had an amazing first weekend in Glasgow. After an amazing time with ki, tim, ela and louis yesterday, i went out to a ceilidh with my roomate and nico.. my kitchen mate lol anyway, it was one of the best ceilidhs i've been to for a looooong time. so much fun!! ok, so I think i would give you a wee bit of encouragement for the time being, in the form of a nice wee story! ok, basically, on friday night, i had the night to myself. My roomate hadn't moved in yet and I was a bit kind of lonely. What I did was I spent the night kind of dedicated to God. It was really nice :-) put some nice music on, aswell as my flameless candle (best £3.99 spent ever!!) and basically prayed for the coming week/year/whatever. i really just felt that i wanted to live for God and i prayed for the strength to not get too distracted for that. one of the things i was a bit worried about was maybe if my flatmate was a bit of a huge partier then i might spend a lot of time out and kind of find myself drifting etc etc... anyway! out with sarah (my room mate) on sat night, we were just chatting, turns out she is a christian! she was wanting to look for a church and we were both sooo happy to have a church buddie to go with! she is such a nice, lovely person and we get on really really well!!!! Major answering-ness of prayer there!!! so yeah, basically i really feel that god has big plans for us this year. me and sarah: the Big G-Team of glasgow university!! oh and church this morning was pretty great, met a few people from the CU and they have free barbeques all week! nice!! so yeah, just to say hang in there with any prayers that you may have, 'cause God DOES answer them and he just wants the best for everyone :-) love yas xxx | ||||

| Hey NEBsters! Well last night was the first NEBS after the summer, and I thought it was great fun! We had a great time playing games, such as shuffle-bum, and Big Buckie; with mountains of food and snacks! Next week, Steph will be taking the study as it is her last week before she moves away to Glasgow (boo! We will miss her!) So dont miss it! She promises a very long list of Fun-Facts for us, and a special theme... Hope you are all doing well, and if you werent able to make it last night, we hope to see you soon!! | As some of you may or may not know, there is a social this friday (the 2nd of may) I (steph) won't be going as this is the day of my dad's wedding, but you all should go and have lots of fun! i think we meet at 6.30 at the kirkgate be there or be a lemon!! | ||||

| Hi guys! NEBS is on next Monday (14th April) as usual. The plan is to start looking at one of the books of the bible as a whole. We are starting with 1 Timothy and will be going through it chapter by chaper over the next few weeks. If you have a bible please try and bring it along with you, or we have some spares for you if you dont have one (of course, NONE of you will forget it...  ). I think Denise will be giving the talk this week (if im wrong, please let me know Dee!!)The leaders are aware thats exams are just around the corner, sorry to remind you, so we understand if you cannot make it because you are studying. | Well it's a new year, a fresh start! Woohooo! Don't know about you but I'm glad about that I hope everyone has had a fantastic time over the holidays and will continue to do so untill you go back to school. Just a wee reminder that NEBS starts up again on Monday 14th January and I hope to see you all there. Feel free to bring friends along too! Not quite sure what will be happening then but if I am able to let you know before the 14th then you can be sure it will be on here! | Going to write updates/summarys on here now as the forum is for anyone to post things. Most of you werent there this monday but we still went ahead!! Low numbers stop no-one!! We got all the Christmas decorations up (and it looks rather fantastic!!) and still heard the last bit of Jonah A reminder to you all that next week is the Christmas Party. Please come along and feel free to bring along friends! This will be the last NEBS for 2007, but pleased to say we will start up again after the holidays on the 14th January! The party will start from 7pm when we will start serving deserts and as for the rest of the night, well I'm not sure how its going to run!! But I do know there will be a Ceilidh! And if your anything like me, then you'll be excited!Summary: Jonah #4 We were looking at Jonah chapter 3 to the end (its not very long) Jonah goes to Nineveh and preaches like God told him, the people of Nineveh believe him and repent, everyone in the city, from the very least to the King, fasted to show God that they were sorry. God had grace on the people and fogave them, and was no longer angry, so he decided not to destroy the city. At this Jonah became angry with God. He felt they did not deserve God's forgiveness, eventhough God loved them. We discussed how we sometimes feel like that, feel that some people are 'beyond' God's grace. But who are we to determine who should and should not be forgiven? God loves everyone unconditionally whereas our love is often conditional on how lovely someone is towards us. I hope that gives those who were absent a little insight as to what happened while you were away, and to the few who were there, a little reminder!
