| Alex Goss - Paris Hilton's new best friend? | 313 Tage her | |||
| So I had the pleasure of meeting Paris Hilton in a swanky London hotel yesterday... I was pretty well looked after- we got a whole room filled with nice drinks and afternoon tea style nibbles- score! We watchd the first episode of her new TV show Britains Best Friend where she comes to the UK to look for a new friend over here, then I got taken into a room not far from the private screening room to meet the lady in question. My perceptions of her hadn't been too good and I was surprised to see she was actually very friendly, polite and not at all how she's seen in the media. I think she's actually quite a cunning young lady who plays on her bimbo image and milks it for everything it's worth. She told me she likes to make lasagne at home, drink water instead of champagne and apparently sleeps naked in between the sheets. I did get invited over for Lasagne (after a few hints) but I can't see it happening. | ||||

| Lina Goss- BFF's with Kelly Clarkson | 327 Tage her | |||
| As Showbiz Editor I sometimes get to cherry pick the interviews with people I'm a big fan of - enter the original American Idol Kelly Clarkson. The singer's got a new album out in March but was totally up for talking about everything from what she thinks of Britney Spears (too much too young), to Pink ( she loves her latest album!!) to teenage sensation Twilight (she's on the last book, hates the character of Jacob and would love to record a song for the next film.) They say never meet your heroes but actually in this case Kelly was everything I was hoping for and a more down to earth and less starry star I couldn't have asked for. Lina :-) xxx | ||||

| Sophia Goss at the Strictly Come Dancing Reveal! | 465 Tage her | |||
| The sequins, the sparkles, the tight fitting outfits - and that's just the boys! Yes it can only mean one thing Strictly Come Dancing is back. Yesterday a mass of media went to Cafe de Paris in London where Brucie and his sidekick Tess Daly introduced the final line-up for this years show. This is the sixth year of Strictly and BBC bosses are promising it will be bigger and better than before, well it's definitely bigger with sixteen new contestants all battling it out to take the crown from last year's winner, Alesha Dixon. So do you want to know who'll be showing off their salsa and flirting with the foxtrot? Well here's the who's who of dancers. For the ladies, TV presenter Christine Bleakley, model Jodie Kidd, actress' Cherie Lunhi, Gillian Taylforth and Jessie Wallace as well as singers, Heather Small and Rachel Stevens and finally George Clooney's ex Lisa Snowden (who may not be tripping the light fantastic in heels because she's already taller than her partner Brendan Cole). For the men, Andrew Castle will be hoping to do better than his GMTV co-host Fiona Phillips who's also appeared on the show, while actors Tom Chambers, Phil Daniels and Don Warrington take to the floor, Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, rugby star Austin Healey, chef Gary Rhodes and political journalist John Sergeant will also do ballroom battle. Who will win however is still to be seen but so far the hot favourite is former S-Club Seven star Rachel Stevens. | ||||

| Sophia Goss- mingling with the xfactor judges | 476 Tage her | |||
| Tears, tantrums and a desire to be the best... and that's just the judges in this year's X Factor. Newcomer Cheryl Cole has joined Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh, who judged Cheryl when she won her place in Girls Aloud by appearing on the reality show, Pop Stars The Rivals. The feisty foursome were at the Mayfair Hotel in London to launch their latest search for a star and despite Cheryl being a little on the quiet side, especially when asked why she was minus her wedding ring (a question she didn't answer by the way) she slipped perfectly into the shoes of former judge Sharon Osbourne. Simon actually let slip that he'd asked Cheryl to appear on Britain's Got Talent but she'd declined the offer and he'd settled for Amanda Holden instead. So this appears to be Cheryl's moment, with all eyes on her as she makes her own maternal mark on the show, tearing up at the sob stories and laughing out loud at the abundance of characters who surface around the UK to show off their talent, or in some cases lack of it. As for the rivalry amongst the panel well there was no hint of that during the day but only time and a few live shows will really tell if The X Factor still has what it takes to make us tune in for more. | ||||

| Sarah Goss - just back from the Cass premier | 496 Tage her | |||
| I met the real Cass - very nice guy, what an incredible life he's had. This film is a great British movie. Watch out for the main star - Nonso Anozie I reckon he's set for big things! | ||||

| Sarah Goss walks the Red Carpet with Batman | 496 Tage her | |||
| It was great to cover such a huge premiere. The bat mobile racing up and down the red carpet was amazing - v impressed!! Christian Bale looked great - of course, but he is quite serious and all his answers were very dead pan. Aaron Eckhart was lovely very smiley and friendly and better looking in the flesh ....and Maggie Gyllenhaal did great in the film although I'd say don't mention taking over from Katie Holmes as when other crews asked her about it she seemed to get a little cold! Ohps! | ||||

| Lu at the 02 Wireless Festival | 509 Tage her | |||
| The good thing about the 02 Wireless festival is that it takes place bang in the city in London's Hyde Park. That means no camping, not to mention the chance to run out to the nearest Starbucks if the portaloos get too much to bear. A welcome relief after slumming it at Glastonbury the week before. Wireless is a four-day event and this year there was a real sense that organisers had planned each day's line-up to cater for different music tastes. Thursday was by the far the most commercial - with Mark Ronson and Jay Z the main features. Fresh from his Glasto appearance, most of the hype was about the US rapper. Everyone wanted to see if he could top his evening at the farm. I think he impressed the crowd - but you wouldn't really be watching if you weren't a fan to begin with. Jay Z, or 'Jigga' as I like to call him, is purely A-list and that means he's hard to pin down for an interview. Luckily, us bods at ITN ON cracked the nod to a certain after party going on at the nightclub Paper. We were assured that Jay Z would be there and that he would give us some time for an interview. So my very hard-working camera lady and I rushed out of Hyde Park to the venue in regent's street, eager to get our scoop. After a rigorous security check that makes going through customs at Tel Aviv seem like a walk in the park, we were in, set up and ready for the big man himself. Jay Z was supposed to show around an hour after his gig ended - between 11:30 pm and midnight. But the thing with very famous or 'Very Important People' is that they generally have many pulls on their time, so we weren't surprised when we were told we had to wait a little longer. Although a 'little longer' turned into two hours longer. Then we got news that Jay Z WAS in the building - imagine our relief? But first he had to eat. The wait continued... As the small hours approached we were starting to doubt our own sanity and whether Jay Z was actually 'in the building'...but low and behold, a minor commotion and a body guard (who could have stunt doubled for the hulk) preceded Jigga's grand entrance. He came in with Mark Ronson - the pair posed for some pictures....and then walked off into the club. What no interview then? Fear not, there is a happy end to this tale. Following a PR-frenzy we and the other camera crew present, were asked to come downstairs, with the chance to join Jay Z and his entourage somewhere in the inner sactum of the club. It was a bit of a bun fight with the other crew and the snappers, but nothing to stop me thrusting the mic in Jigga's direction, praying that whatever he said would be picked up over Rihanna's 'Umbrella' tune thumping on in the background. I didn't get to ask the man any questions myself - and anyway he didn't seem like he wanted to chat for long. Back at the office we played back the tape. Halleluja! It worked. We had our interview with Jay Z - just not how we had planned it | ||||

| Alex Goss drools over Jessica Alba | 641 Tage her | |||
| So, I got to interview Jessica Alba today which was obviously quite a highlight of both my week and probably year! In real life she's really cool. Heavily pregnant but she's glowing and looking healthy. She's over in the UK promoting her new movie 'The Eye' which is a horror style film where she plays a blind person and has a transplant so she can see. But not all is as it seems. I was a huge fan of 'Sin City' (I wonder why?!) so was interesting to meet her. She's just finished a film with Mike Myers called 'Love Guru' which is apparently quite like 'Austin Powers' so that'll be interesting. I did ask her if she'd be doing a 'Sin City 2' but she said she doesn't know yet. She also said she went to check out Amy Winehouse singing in Paris not so long ago and couldn't speak enough about her. Needless to say I got a photo - it was rude not to. It was blatantly to show off to my bloke mates...they'll be green with envy. | ||||

| Clare Goss goes rock n roll at the NME Awards | 647 Tage her | |||
| I have a BANGING headache today after the NME Awards last night, which were awesome! Arctic Monkeys obviously won a few, and were actually really nice when collecting their award for best band. But The Enemy blatantly hate the Arctics and slagged them off to me afterwards, saying they win everything and it's boring and cowardly of the industry to keep rewarding the same band. Saucer of milk for table two..... Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong were there - Joe Lean accompanied by a pretty brunette girl who WASN'T Peaches Geldof. Peaches' little sister Pixie was there though, and kept moaning about having to go all the way outside for a cigarette. Poor lamb. She was on a table with The Horrors, as I think she's dating Faris Rotter. The gorgeous Carl Barat was there, and I nearly got caught up in a playfight between his bandmates Didz Hammond and Anthony Rossamundo at the aftershow party. Didz just rugby tackled Anthony and they both went flying. Hilarious. The big gig at the O2 after the awards was brilliant. Bloc Party I reckon were the best, but then I'm not much of a Manics fan. Can't believe they won the Godlike Genius award. Hello - overrated?! One of my mates from uni went on Mastermind and her specialist subject was the Manic Street Preachers. Oh the shame. Needless to say, all the bands were hammered as there was loads of free booze knocking about and the only food on offer was some mini sandwiches and cakes. Recipe for disaster. Or an amazing night. I can't remember. | ||||

| Clare Goss goes to The Brits!!!! | 650 Tage her | |||
| OK, so I wasn't on a table by the stage (it's all suits and record label bosses in there anyway - boring) but I DID get to speak to loads of stars on the red carpet. The nicest? Simon and James Klaxons and Nick Kaisers were lovely, but Jamie Klaxons was HAMMERED at about 4pm. Not a good look, considering he was performing with Rihanna a few hours later... Ri looks gorgeous, but doesn't she always, and I reckon she deserved best international female more than Kylie. Umbrella still rocks after nearly a year. Also, I love Kylie, but she was wearing a bit of a grannyish dress. Leona Lewis is still mega-quiet and shy, but I guess you would be too if you didn't win anything despite being up fro 4 Brits. Oh the shame. Mark Ronson is totally handsome and charming in real life. He's single these days - form an orderly queue ladies. Tell who else was cool - Daniel Merriweather, the ozzie guy who sings on Ronson's hit 'Stop Me'. Dan's got his own solo album out soon, apparently it's really soulful and got loads of horns and strings on like Ronson's Versions album. We can't wait to hear it. He's pretty cute too come to think of it. Obviously it was amazing to see Macca in the flesh, and the press were all very well behaved with no mention of rubber-leg. Oh, and Mika is really tall. I always assumed he would be short, don't know why. Shocker that he beat Klaxons to the breakthrough gong though. I was totally on the blag as well, and got invited to aftershow parties by Klaxons, The Hoosiers and James Blunt. Did I go? A lady never kisses and tells....... | ||||
