| There are places available on our UK street team to help us with promotion. As a fan we would love you to become a valued team member, helping with online promotion tasks, contacting radio stations, giving out flyers and materials at shows, generally spreading the word in return for free tickets, promo cd's and the chance to meet the band. click here | ||||

finding new music i love can be quite rare. i guess it depends how many tributaries youve got flowing into your river. sometimes its a struggle, all jammed up with trolleys and rick waller....cds. even mark kermode will one day complete his collection of the history of skiffle. could be only john peel had any chance of a constant fresh supply. but there are fish in the wandle and some things get through to me too. 'bon iver' for one, especially the tune 're stacks'. if you havent heard him already, maybe give it a listen.....http://search.playlist.com/tracks/bo... was also slow on the uptake to daniel johnston. 'true love will find you in the end'. how long can it be til that appears in a tv ad? .....aaah, you know what bills doing now, he's going for the righteous indignation dollar, thats a big dollar. lot of people are feeling that indignation.... and what we're doing, in our real lives, that doesnt involve admiring other peoples work, in no particular order....hearing 'what you waiting for' on a radio for the first time (its released in a month). nice response on music control and jonathon ross. i was sleeping when i got a text, simply saying his name. for a brief moment i imagined us playing live on saturday night tv. a bit like when my art teacher wrote down the winning lottery numbers and then checked them thinking they were his own. in fairness, he had nothing when the dust had settled, our song had at least been played. actually, thats not fair either. he knew what it was like to win the lottery. pretty good apparently. every cloud, so....played the borderline the other night and really enjoyed it. seemed like the crowd did too....working on new material in our studio, demoing it through a small plastic mike onto garage band and listening back excitedly.....we are doing another small world, promise, possibly in a warehouse. things wont get too nathan barley though. no plans as yet to invite the djs from west rocks the other night; jeremy kyle vs trisha, complete with face masks. i would secretly like to get the brightlights involved though, they played another blinder just after 'trish'. also, we have couple of more shows to come before the festivals too. details soon. and video. and photos. take care. dan x ps embarrassing and that but if you want to subscribe to this blog, theres a link up in top right there....

| We have finally decided on our artwork for the album and singles. I won't say it has been easy because as a democratic unit we are not always coming from the same direction, but after much deliberating we finally have something that we can say is rockin. The shots for the album have been taken out in Iceland, a place that is dear to us as it was the first gig abroad and festival that we ever did and was a turning point for us. The website will be up soon so you will be able to see exactly what I mean. x | ||||

i hope you're all good. we made a new video last week, in this deserted old faith school/college/prison. it had been a mental asylum too. massive, spook centrale in places, and perfect for what we were doing. 14 hours of playing the one song, and giving it 100% every time left me so so so knackered. it was like the kind of tiredness you get as a kid - but i didn't fall asleep in the car home and wet myself... its more than just us playing - it'll be online and on tv soon, so you can check it out on our video's. in the meantime, here's how a phone saw it... yours sincerely. joe

| back in london.... | 577 dagen geleden | |||
| just back from the great escape in brighton via manchester. the south coast was the highlight and rightly so. in fairness, im not sure a club night in manc has matched a whole festival since the days of the hacienda and it wasnt about to happen now (rest in peace mr wilson). brighton is a great place, not quite wigan pier, but there is something interesting there. seeing luke kook pritchard sauntering down the street kind of made sense. i thought of 'she moves in her own way', that sort of childish summery acoustic guitar. its not quite real life, like ramsay street but with nice buildings and no paul robinson. i was there for a whole two days during a festival so obviously this viewpoint is entirely accurate. weve been announced for t in the park which is great news. its a festival high up on our list (not that weve made one) plus there are loads of bands i want to see this year too. we gigged nearby last year at the delightful tunnels of aberdeen. i remember catching bits of it on the telly in our hotel room and thinking id probably prefer to be playing there despite the fact it was raining continuously. here in london we have a new mayor (alexander boris de pfeffel johnson) and the first thing hes done is ban alcohol on the tube. sadly, when i try to think of someone drinking on the tube, all i can picture is me. a sort of peep show like perspective, beer in hand, rows of feet beyond that. i think of that feeling early in summer, on your way up town, travelling with friends, maybe even smiling at people like boris. and drinking a beer. i have been banned. perhaps he got sucked into one of those brilliant circle line parties a few years back, maybe took some mushrooms and accidentally caught his reflection across the way. you can only hope. but to hear the way he talks about it, how it will be ok to have sealed bottles of wine in carrier bags. brillliant. people like boris, on the tube with a nice bottle of wine in a carrier bag. til theyre the only ones left on the underground save the staff (literally). boris does cycle somethimes. he passed me doing that once. no suprises, he looked like an idiot. moaning aside, id like to report that yeasayer are quality live and 2080 sounds amazing. there seemed to be quite a few people who felt that way. thanking you. dan x | ||||

just added quite a few more dates to the main page. time for travelling around the country in no particular order again. this one should be in the sunshine. loving it. cheers for all the suggestions for the live radio cover. there were loads and many were new to me. been digging ashley by the dodos and narcissus road by the hours amongst others. some tunes mentioned were nothing but pure filth which might have been fun i guess. its generally intriguing to see what sort of songs youve connected us with. in a way its more accurate than most journalists attempts to place our sound. we chose teardrops in the end by womack and womack, mostly because its a brilliant track that seemed to work pretty well for us. heading up to my grans 90th birthday bash now to celebrate her commitment to life, cigarettes, sherry and being generally very safe. nice one flo. dan

| What you waiting for | 600 dagen geleden | |||
| hello all we have put up 'What you waiting For' on the page so check it. This is going to be our first single proper so get down with it. Went to see Supergrass with the boys (thanks Suzi) it was at the Astoria and the majority of the set was rockin. It will be a tradgey when they close that place, it is a serious venue and seems a shame to close such a major venue that is bang in the middle of town. We have been making a home of our new studio in Tooting, it is great getting into a different space, gives everything a fresh feel. Working on new material that we hope to take with us on the road in May, well up for it. Summer is coming gerard | ||||
