Another great thing for you voice734 dni temu

In addition to everything below... pineapple juice is very good for keeping your voice conditioned. If you are using your voice a lot then it will keep you from losing it or it getting sore and strained.

Tips for looking after your voice...790 dni temu

Air Travel
Travelling by air to any competition can do funny things to your voice. Your lungs are exchanging re-circulated air; your body is under unusual stresses and is forced to sleep in a weird, unfamiliar setting, with strangers as your neighbours. Under these circumstances, it is therefore very important to keep up your fluid supply to help maintain your body’s metabolism so that it is as ‘normal’ as possible.

Water – how much do we need?
Depending on your source, the human body consists of approximately 60% water (inside our cells, between cells, and in our circulation). We need to rehydrate ourselves to keep up the balance. For every hot drink you consume, you need to replace it with THREE cups of water.

Basic rule of thumb: 6 – 8 glasses per day

NOTE that there is little use in drinking lots of water during your singing rehearsal. By then it’s usually too late! You need to ensure that your body’s reservoir is replenished well before you start to sing.

Drinking too much water while you are rehearsing can actually be detrimental, as some of the protective mucus lining can be washed off.

Restoring the protective mucus lining
Apples have a pH that is similar to that of natural saliva. Combined with the chewing action, consuming apples actually helps to restore some of the protective lining that helps to look after our voice. Make sure the apples are peeled though as to avoid scratching.

The Singer’s Tea is another great way to look after your vocal mechanism

What happens if you’re already sick?
The singer’s tea is a great aid for sore throats and protection against developing laryngitis.

If you are coughing lots, learn not to clear your throat too much. This is because although clearing your throat gets ride of the mucus that is bugging the cilia of your airways, once you’ve got rid of the mucus your body goes “oh-oh, I have no mucus left to protect myself” and the goblet cells midst your respiratory epithelium secretes more mucus.

Learn to ‘power pant’ instead. This alternative does not force the vocal cords together, hence is a better, gentle approach on your vocal mechanism.
