| Tour Memoirs... | 754 Tage her | ||
| So that was the 2007 Fair Trade Tour. The tour that I learnt to 'rock-leap' from a Cajon, speak 'star-wars-alien' during a song that I'd forgotton the words, taste the UK's best kabab, meet Norman Kember, gig with the guy out of captain sensible and witness the madest dancing anyones ever performed to one of my songs. If you've ever flapped your arms to seaguls or played air slap-guitar to holding on, I'm sorry, but Trev in Stockton took the Dancing to the limit. The rock-leap started in Dyce from the stage but then went on to other gigs using the cajon. The kabab came from kababish in Reading and was stunning - go there and purchase, it's well worth the experience. Norman Kember turned up at the Harrow gig - lovelly bloke. And Martin Newell from Captain Sensible read some brilliant poems, one about a problem he had with a cdddddddddddd - you had to be there. And somewhere my brain disengaged and I ended up drivelling my way through the last part of holding on before finding myself in Gotta Get Through this. Don't ask he how, I wasn't there. And the night my joke was hi-jacked. What's blue and square? the answer is actually 'An orange in disguise'. At Harlow someone took a wild guess - David Cameron! Then there was Gareths birthday which happened at traidcraft. The cake was bought out with sparklers, then the chap with the cake though he was to early so took the sparklers out and stamped on them. then realised he wasn't to early so tried lighting them but only managed a couple. Being a good and kind mate I bought Gareth some nail stickers from Clairs Accessories. So thanks if you were at any of the shows. It was a stunning tour. My next show is this Wednesday with After The Fire. If you can come - do! | |||

| Rugby and Stirchley with Finchley | 796 Tage her | ||
| What a crazy week it's been. If you were at the youth:ALIVE event on Saturday then cheers for being there. I know the guys that put that together are doing some fantastic stuff so get along to the next one. Then there was Rugby. I really enjoyed it. First playing backing for Ian Finch and then trying out some new songs in my set. It was a stunning crowd of folks and an audience that made the night worth it!. I've know Finch for a few years and we've been meaning to do some stuff together for a while so this weekend was a double whammy. Check out Finchleymusic on myspace. Monday last week I went to the Albert Hall to see John Mayer. A stunning gig and call me a fantasist but one day, I'd like to play at the Albert Hall. On Friday I went with a mate to see Iona at the Irish Centre in Birmingham. Another stunning act but the venue was crap. Loads of noise from the 2nd bar in the venue that had a night club thing going on and the bar staff seemed oblivious to the fact that people had played £14 to hear the band. But there you go. | |||

| Greenbelt 07 | 823 Tage her | ||
| I've had this stinking cold the last few days. I dosed up for Greenbelt and had a good time there. If you came to any of the shows then thanks. The first one in the Tradecraft tent was rather manic - totally in the spirit of Greenbelt. I played alongside my mate Gareth, andn we were joined by the incredible Yvonne Lyon and Greenbelt veterans After The Fire. The next was a guest spot with ATF in the performance cafe. It was packed, testemony to the impact that ATF had on the scene a number of years ago. The last gig was in G-Music and I must say i felt a little more at home there. 20 minutes of banging away at my songs. There was a signing session after that, meeting folks. Delirious were doing the same thing next to me so I got to poach some of there line. Some people even asked me to sign Delirious CD's even when I told them I wasn't part of the band. How weird is that? All in all a good day. Thanks if you dropped by to see me. Rob | |||
