| After many weeks of anticipation, and many hours of listening time at Kiddfectious HQ, we are proud to announce the winners of the New Kidd on the Block – Kidd All Star competition. Back in April, we decided to give one lucky hopeful the chance to shine like a true Kiddfectious All Star. To perform an exclusive money-cant-buy set on the alluring stage of Kiddstock is a dream come true for any aspiring Prince of Bosh, but in keeping with the theme for 2009 – fantasy really does become a reality for one lucky winner. In addition to the alluring prize of a set at Kiddstock, the Kidd All Star will also receive a copy of the freshly released Kiddstock album, VIP entry to the event as well as invaluable promo support provided by Kiddfectious HQ. We received over 100 competition entries, which took quite some time for our very own judge, Alex Kidd to get through! In his search for the winning set, Alex was looking for something unique – a thread of magic to be woven through a 30minute skills showcase, coupled with a sound to engage and represent the future of hard dance. A mini feature and further details will also follow soon. "All the mixes sent were in were of a good standard, some better than others. I was looking for a mix that stood out and for something a little bit different from what you might ordinarily expect. DJ Whitelabel's mix was seamlessley put together and extremely well structured. The mix of tech trance, trance and techno was a great sound and everyone in Kiddstock HQ's ears pricked up upon hearing the mix as I played them. | Kiddstock Ireland Promises Unholy War On Saturday 1 August a mystic mist will set across Ireland as worlds collide and enemies set forth to battle for control of Hard Dance’s most sought after dimension - The Divine Province of Ireland. The second instalment of Kiddstock ‘The Enchanted Realms’, sees the veteran warriors from the harder-edged frontier of electronic music slug it out in the second leg of this unholy engagement. In May, The Magic Kingdom (Wales) witnessed miraculous combat and unrivalled showmanship as the conflict erupted in the Anglesey Showground. The Mystic Peaks (England) and The Forgotten Temple (Scotland) follow throughout August, but the crusade commences in the godly lands of Ireland. Three arenas lie in wait as 20 hard dance sorcerers, witches and illusionists fight it out for the glorious crown. Alex Kidd, ASYS, Mark EG, Organ Donors, Kidd Kaos, Dr Willis and the Kiddfectious All-star Squad are the heavyweight favourites. They are joined by Ireland’s most powerful patrons including Mark Kavanagh, John Gibbons, Jordan X, Mandy Reid, James Best and more. A magic village, outdoor barbecue area, fire breathers, stilt walkers, live visuals and full indoor festival experience await those ready to dance in the midst of this almighty confrontation. | Kiddstock ‘The Enchanted Realms’ England ‘The Mystic Peaks’ August 8th 2009 – 11am – 11pm Ground Zero, Thimbleberry Farm, Stanhope, Durham DL13 2PN The first in the series of four Kiddstock ‘Enchanted Realms’ events hit the Welsh Isle of Anglesey with a force harder than a spell from the wand of Gandalf himself. Over 2500 charged and mesmerized clubbers soaked up the sights, sounds and surprises of the ‘Magic Kingdom’ and were left feeling tantalised and twitching with full scale arena production, laser show and huge screens alongside the ‘Magic Village’. This August, Kiddstock will descend upon its spiritual stomping ground of County Durham for the original Kiddstock experience. After months of anticipation and speculation, Kiddstock England is finally here... Hosting the ‘Mystic Peaks’ is none other than Kiddstock Sorcerer himself, Alex Kidd. Joining Alex to head up the Kiddfectious main arena with an exclusive live set are pioneers of the rave sound - The Ratpack. These guys have kept the Old Skool alive playing at massive events such as Global Gathering, Helter Skelter, Moondance, Raindance and countless more. Producing some of the most noted Old Skool tunes ever known such as ‘Searching For My Rizla’, ‘Brothers and Sisters’ and ‘Looking Out My Window’, The Ratpack will be showcasing the original underground rave sound to the Mystic Peaks of Kiddstock – a perfect combination! The Kidd’s handpicked International headliners will be three of Europe’s most impressive and respected Warlocks of European Hard Trance & Hardstyle. Hailing from three different domains of Europe and presenting three different takes on hard dance and hardstyle, this bevy of headliners are truly a force not to be reckoned with. A*S*Y*S, representing Germany, tore the roof off Kiddstock 2008 with his acidicly dark and twisted flavour of hard beats and the Kiddfectious favourite has build a loyal base of Kiddfectees from his music and performances over the last year. Serving up the finest Italian hardstyle with a side order of DMC finalist turntablism jinxery, is Daniele Mondello. Fresh from a jaw dropping performance at Kiddfectiious Sankeys event in April, the Italian Hardstyle Master is raring to unleash his sorcerous scratching ability. Completing the trio of International headlining giants is Dutch destructor – Dozer, hailing from the European Capital of hard music, he is responsible for legendary anthems such as ‘Church of the Darkside’. Kiddfectious Recordings artists are in full force with performances from Organ Donors, Dark by Design as well as the precociously talented Kidd Kaos and label buddy Amber D. The familiar faces of Kiddstock Veterans Mark E.G and BBC Radio 1’s Kutski return for their third year, as well as a welcome appearance from global house brand Kissdafunk head honcho Rob Tisserra hosting his very own arena. The new talent line up has never been stronger. The Mystic Peaks will stage some of the most gifted young DJ wizards and producers from across the UK. | To celebrate Kiddfectious’ first birthday back in January and to extend our love of new talent, we gave up and coming Kiddfected producers the chance to shine. In a competition to uncover potential new Kiddfectious All Stars, we put out the word for samples of your originally produced tracks – the selected winner to be invited for a day’s hard graft in the studio with none other than Alex Kidd himself and newly crowned ‘Best New Face’ (HDA 2009) Kidd Kaos! The chance to make your own track with AK and Kidd Kaos unsurprisingly received a massive response. With applicants submitting everything from techno to hard trance to the toughest hardstyle, the competition was hot and kept The Kidd busy for hours through the judging process!
