| Updates and Bad Breaks | Il y a 751 jours | ||
| Well I thought I should write a little update seeing as we've neglected the page a little bit lately. A few things have happened since the Bodog Battle night, I shall list them for you 1. Daniel has secured himself a guitar endorsement deal with Freshman Guitars, a fantastic deal for him as they are a well respected, world recognised and SCOTTISH guitar company. you can vist the site here http://www.freshmanguitars.co.uk 2. We played a Quiet Riot night at the Drawing Room Bar in Glasgow, a major success as we introduced our new addition to the lineup, Beatboxer Jack-Attack. Adding a new dimension to the band sound we brought the house down with an hours set. We will be back again tomorrow 1st December 2007, it's the bars birthday bash so should be a great night, with the Congregation sounds filling the room. 3. Bad news as our cornetist Master Bates has broken his collarbone playing rugby. This means that he has had a metal plate inserted into his shoulder, and will be off the cornet until Mid January. A big blow for us, and bigger blow for him, as he hasn't been able to drink since it happened!!!!!!! 4. We will be recording sometime between the 13th and 18th December, four song demo with the full band line up (With Cheryl Saunders taking the place of the newly bionic Master Bates) The demo will be shipped out to interested parties and of course to our loyal fans, this will include at least one new song (as yet untitled) and new versions of old songs, let me know if you want a CD, and I'll get one out to you. 5. Daniel appeared at a guitar convention in Leicester, giving a showcase of his best stuff and showing off his swanky new guitar to the industry types. A great response has resulted in a number of sold demos and some possible indusry interest, fingers crossed that our recording in December hits the spot. So that's all just now folks, will update you as always on any new developments, songs, and as always, any comments are gratefully received. Luv The Boner | |||

| New Name & Bad Recordings | Il y a 911 jours | ||
| Good day to you all Well after the French Institute gig on Thursday (Kudos to the organisers, what an excellent night it was) we decided on the official band name, so say hello to "The Daniel Vzeu Collective" hopefully the start of a familiar brand. Also apologies to those that have added "Lately (I smoke Alone) and "Crazy for Calling" they were lifted from Myspace and as a consequence were running a little slower than they should be. Crazy has been fixed, however Lately will take a little bit longer, however you still have the video to enjoy. Have a good weekend all Mark | |||

| First Review | Il y a 913 jours | ||
| Thought I would put up the first review we received as a group, after our gig at "Out the Bedroom" Canon Gait Pub. 11th April 2007 Daniel Vzeu (featured): Ably supported by Will Bates on cornet and MarkBell on trombone, Daniel was tonight's featured act, taking the stage atprobably the best time and reaching the maximum audience possible. This was my first encounter with Daniel's music – he apparently debuted in December at OOTB so is obviously well thought of by the committee to haveachieved a featured slot so early on. With a name which would be a godsendto any scrabble player (if names were allowed of course) his first song"Bad Day Hum Drum" started off in a reggae'ish lope. What a great voice –a pleasure to listen to – and the opener, about staying in bed all day,drew an excellent response from the crowd. "Back to Where We Started"opened with a great riff, featuring the brass players and some funkyguitar. Daniel's sound is very "mainstream" and he reminded me of acouple of US megastars almost unknown here, Jason Mraz and John Mayer –who he'll probably know, having lived for a while in San Diego. Next upwas one of the best songs of the night, "Lately (I Smoke Alone)" full ofhooks and hit single material. A loping beat accompanied by sometrombonist egg as percussion and some sweet cornetist backing vocals witha James Bond type riff permeating the piece. The next song was a tale ofa time in San Diego when Daniel moonlighted as one Fernando Nunez, thename on his fake social security card. Unfortunately, "Tijuana Nights"had a hard job coming after the previous cracker. "She Ain't Never ComingBack" would have benefited from a full band arrangement though this doesshow the potential of the song - a funky number with another good rifffrom the boys on brass. Then it was the last song "As Much As I Can Take"which, for me, despite Mr Vzeu's opening story, was more Jamiroquai thanStevie Wonder. Nevertheless, with its stop-start opening motif, it was agood finale to an excellent, entertaining set. | |||

| Success! USB cable located, and the video of "Lately" is now on for your perusal. A couple of questions you will ask after watching the clip 1. Yes, Will is wearing a tree....it was the tree festival in Edinburgh that day......CLEARLY! 2. We did beat up the guy that got in the way of the video! Congratulations to Frazer Kirk, our very first fan on bebo, copy of our CD on it's way haha! | |||

| Wecome one and all Finally we have transferred from Myspace into the world of Bebo. Feel free to have a browse, add yourself as a fan, listen to the music and leave a few comments. We are heading into the studio soon to record some full band sounds, but for now I'm sure you won't mind the golden voice of Mr Vzeu on his own. Enjoy Mark | |||
