well d hicks are back in the country and playin the usual gigs around the town, hopfully we're gonna branch off into galway this year, never know, shop street is always an easy gig! shtuck up a few gigs that come to mind there, scribes shud b a nice little number, with tadgh slappin the bass guiatr for the night with us these days too!

the hicks have been provisionally confirmed to play at a wedding afters in the wineport hotel novemeber, after a number of the band members met last night. they are siad to be looking forward to such a venture, and are hopeful of more to come, hicks out....

so ye see d pics der from sat nite, fierce craic ws had, including a guest appearance from mammy fitz on electric bass! kim lightholder kinly took the photos for us, and what a job she did lads! feckn classy arty farty pics wer took in that little pub that night! cd is all ready now for the final mastering and then a bizzilion copies to be duplicated, anyone interested jus comment d band page and mayb we'll have a rough idea of how many we shud do?? hmmmm, good idea neil! so hopefully we'll get ourselves a few decent gigs for ourselves, propositions from old faithful in ballymahon have yet to be confirmed, as well as a private function in gort on the possibility lisht (eg carolines birthday!) so yea....kinda awkward, jus gona go....nw....

so the hicks hit the stud-io for some major trackage again last night, wahckin out another 4 or five songs, and basically completing their debut album, exactly one week after the bands conception! more slow songs this time, inlcuding a humdinger of an origian, penned by mr. o neill! we even overdubbed mandolin this time oooohhhh!!!!
oh! and we also recorded our first radio ad! "coz thats first mike, broadband connection, and that'l be a better day!" yes, u saw it first here, apparently we might be on the radio every day bitches!! hickory wind out....

you see, whilst in the studio, the old crow medicine show (band whose songs we're doin basically) they start off a song with the wrong word, so neil decided to follow suit and made a balls of the start! check it out!

so basically we're playn dis bluegrass craic, and recorded a demo buzz for the pure craic really, turned out quite nicely if i may say so myself, so heres our efforts at technolog-ising roots music! hopefully get ourselves a few gigs soon enough, keep yall posted!! yee ha!
