Sixmilewater Fun Facts539 Tage her

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #1: In Summer Sun, Patrick orginally wrote the lyric"Better not be cold this summer" as "Better not have a cold This summer"."

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #2: Sixmilewater once starred in a music video and live performance captured by Aidan Geaney. We're still waiting on the footage!!! Aidan Geaney is to Sixmilewater, as to what Peter Saville is to Factory.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #3: The six month hiatus was actually caused by Pa's crippling Herion addiction. He now has no real teeth-instead relying on a pair discarded by TV's Matlock.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #4: The only member of the band who lives in Cork City, refuses to attend Cork City FC matches...

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #5: Sixmilewater have written a yet unreleased Rap album. This is due to them going out to develop their Street Cred before it being released. It's called "Motherfuckers & Bitches"

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #6: Some members of the band may someday soon moonlight as another band called "Dawg Done Died". A powerhouse in country music

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #7: Sixmilewater lost the only battle of the band competition they ever entered. This was due to the Merchant Princes-though excellent-being notorious cheaters. They cheated so well-they also didn't win.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #8: Patrik has never received vocal training, only extensive vocal workouts, assists, coaching, warmups, advice, consultation, cooperative learning...

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #9: Some sources have alleged that there is a possibility that Lippy has "gone brazilian" as it were.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #10: Know their Milkshake can bring all the boys to the yard, they're like, It's better then yours, they could teach you, but they have to charge.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #11: Sixmilewaters first gig was played in no. 2 brooklodge village. It was attended by 3 people. They are still waiting for the photos. one person booed. The other two had already left.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #12: Lip was once kinapped by a green car. But miraculously-the rest of the band and Blathnaid managed to save him. And then we shot some photos.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #13: After the failure to release photographs and video footage of the band-Sixmilewater took matters into their own hands and ripped shreds and left black marks in Brooklodge. This shows they are not people you should cross-terriblely dangerous and dangerously terrible in equal messure.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #14: Captain Rick as a young fella thought that the words to the chorus of Vienna were "Ooooooold Piano". This means nothing to me.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #15: When he grows a small 'tache, Joe becomes Midge Ure, absorbing none of his singing powers. But continously trying to organise charity related events for which he recieves no credit. Some boomtown rats crumbum on the otherhand....

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #16: Patrick Hammond is double jointed-but in one specific place. If you ask him nicely-he might show you.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #17: Lip-Bashing is 6mW's no. 1 favourite sport! Lipophobia.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #18: SixMileWater are very socially aware. When asked to comment on the drug war, and the legislation against pscilocybin, Joe McSweeney made the following comments: "Satsumas don't tend to provoke unpredictable responses.."
He really knows how to cut to the heart of the matter (solemn face).

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #19: Patrik Hammonds poignant post-breakdown memoir "Drowning, In SixMileWater..." will be published in June of 2013, the resultant royalties will be squandered on a diet of liquor and penguin bars.

Sixmilewater Fun Fact #20: Joe McSweeneys solo project, "Outer Bass", has been postponed due to lack of funds. When queried on where the money went, Joe responded "Satsumas don't tend to provoke unpredictable responses.."

Wish to know something? Have your own fun fact? Leave a lovely comment-and we'll post it up.

These will be updated periodically. When me and Pa are available to do so!

Pat in freestyle rap horror!586 Tage her

Was i always frightened by love or by loss,
pendulous motion, sick to the bone,
as i float high above, hung on your cross,
just glad that i'm dying all on my own.

Was love a reentry, to what i can't find,
we cannot connect, i cannot get through,
i'm lost to your fancy, i'm lost in your mind,
confronted by distance, now i'm leaving you,

Was what we once shared, another aside,
in a life led by misery, loves darkened hour,
and when you are near me, i can't seem to hide,
you leave me with nothing, drained of all power.

It all is the same, every word you let slip,
all of my writing revolves around you ,
never original, always so hip,
with nothing to dream and nothing to do.

Last Gig For Seven Months653 Tage her

Sixmilewater play upstairs in Slainte(Across from the HMV, next to burger king just off Patricks street) on Friday the 15th of February. This will probably be the last full gig for seven months or so with two band members moving abroad(outside of Cork that is ) in March. There will be three bands playing-the night will start with Tadhg Healy playing a short acoustic set before Mamyko take to the stage. Sixmilewater will then play a full set with several new songs being showcased.

Due to the late license in Slainte, the bar will be open late, with at DJ set following from Niall O'Connor. So you get a full night of entertainment-a proper club night!-for the measly sum of seven euro.

Addmission to the gig will be seven euro, with doors opening at 8.00. Make sure to be there by 8.15 to catch Tadhg!
