| Hey everyone I'm stoked to be able to announce that myself and the band are going to be doing a bigger mini tour in the month of april. The first tour was such a success and we enjoyed it so much that we're properly excited now to be able to get ourselves further afield and carry on this nuts adventure. Tour dates are on my profile, so if you're in the area, it'd be cool to see you there. The van will be over heating, the stench of armpits will be blinding, the cheap pasta will be bile inducing but you just need to know that the shows will be extra special because of it! The reason it's possible for us to do this is because the support has been so fantastic. We're all in this together now!! Roll on April! | |||

| Well, the mini tour is over, and we're (the band and I) in agreement that it went too quickly! I couldn't have asked for it to go any better really. I was genuinely over the moon with the turn outs for all of the dates and as usual, had a great time meeting new fans and friends that are hopefully with us now til the bitter end. The adventure is picking up momentum now, so hang on everyone! Huge thanks need to go out to everyone who helped promote, get from a to b, lugg gear and so on, we couldn't have done it without you. I'm in the process of gathering photos and footage from the dates to put together for all who wish to see it and we'll be back on the road before you know it, malnurished but ultimately having a blast! | Hi everyone, Thanks again to all those who listened in to the Dermot O'Leary show. The feedback has been great and it was a fantastic way to kick off 2009. More exciting radio news is the confirmation of a session with Janice Long on the 26th February. It' a late one (between midnight and 1:00am) so get the coffee brewing if you're gonna tune in. Also, thanks to the success of the Betsy Trotwood gig just before Christmas, I've been able to add a London date to the mini tour that me and the band are doing at the beginning of February. | Hey everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope all was festive and 2009 didn't start with too much of a blur. Just a quick reminder to those who already knew, and a nudge to those who didn't...I'll be playing two live songs and having a chat on the Dermot O'Leary show on BBC RADIO 2 tomorrow afternoon. I'm not entirely sure how these things work but I know it's a good thing if people phone and email in saying they liked what they heard. So if you're able to start the year with a kind gesture towards the Ruarri camp, then please don't hesitate to jump in by phoning, texting, emailing or whatever-ing the show to show support! | It's been crazy and feels like it's flown by but 2008 is nearly at an end. This time last year I just played with David Gray at the Roundhouse and should've been delighted but just felt numb thinking that the path I was on was completely swerving away from where I thought I should be going. Then the new year rang in and I split with Atlantic and my old management, dumping the second album I'd been working on and thinking that I was down but definately not out. My good friend Thomas who had signed me to Atlantic had also left and I plyed him some of the new stuff I'd been tinkering with, thinking about having another go at it all. Luckily for me he was well up for it! So the year plodded on and the album got written through the ups and downs. I had a piece of luck come my way when I was playing in a pub on the beach, when Seth Lakeman walked in and asked me if I wanted to support him on his upcoming tour (obviously I said yes!) and that felt like the start of things. I played some of the new stuff and got a great response which instilled confidence in me to keep going. I finished the album and then landed a tour with folk legends, Show of Hands where I thought I'd go the hole hog and not play any of the old stuff (except Baby Finn which I can't let go of!) and sold the album on the tour to test the water. I'm still overwhelmed at the amount of people that bought the album and I owe huge thanks to them as it's all going towards putting the record out properly in the new year. The tour ended on Sunday and then a band gig last night in London to finish with the live events for 2008. My band are a collection of friends that I've known for years and they're all up for the adventure now too. It was a wicked gig and great end to a nuts year. Thanks Mandy, Matilda, Alfie, Thomas, Pete, Chris Haddon, Katy, ...I could go on but if you buy the album, (oooh cheeky!) then you can read who I owe thanks to on the inside sleeve! Merry Christmas! Let's hope the trusty Ford Focus lasts the next thousand miles (damn I should've said Bedford Rascal and try and earn some more street cred). I shall be staying in a Premier Travel Inn tonight which means a real bed for a change instead of my brother's carpet, but I'm not ungrateful as my brother will be showered with gifts as soon as I realign my spine. Tonight will be a momentous occasion as the title track of the album 'Grime and Grit' will be performed for the 200th time without musical accompaniment. To celebrate this fact I shall treat myself with a jar of hotdog sausages in brine." | Those good guys at Gigwise.com are offering a very special competition for you to become part of Ruarri Joseph's artistic and ultimately music history! To celebrate the release of his new single 'Blankets' on September 24, we're looking for budding artists, photographers, Ruarri Joseph fans... in fact anyone to send through a piece of artwork in j-peg form. It could be absolutely anything - paintings, cool holiday photos, sketches, digital designs, random doodlings.
