| SPOILERS | hace 100 días | |||
| Hope you all liked our first session of secrets, so here we go again. In your comments, some of you mentioned you like Spoilers more than Teasers. I know I said I wouldn't give Spoilers, but I'm going to break my rule this one time, just so the Spoiler lovers don't feel hard done by. If you don't like Spoilers and prefer Teasers DO NOT READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH. Kirsty will be leaving. She will break Miles' heart, but long term viewers will get the satisfaction of seeing her mother Shelley return and a resolution of her tension with her family before she leaves. There are going to be long term ramifications for Miles and his attitude to the world out the back of this shattering event. Trust me, this is one story you won't want to miss. There'll be a lot of tears shed in living rooms around the world before this one is over. OKAY SPOILER OVER. YOU CAN LOOK NOW. Here are a few hints of things to come around a couple of our new arrivals. Romeo Smith, an old, best mate of Jai, is going to hit the Bay and also the heart of Annie. This will clearly cause romantic triangle tensions and give weeks of interesting story. Romeo is a very different sort of guy to Jai, so Annie finds herself torn between the fun loving, cheeky newcomer and her more serious ex-boyfriend. Romeo will also bring a lot of fun in to the show with his freewheeling attitude to life. There's no doubt he's going to be a very popular addition to the canvass. Xavier's life is going to be complicated by the return of his mother Gina to live in Summer Bay. It is exciting news that the talented and much loved Sonia Todd is coming back to the show as a new regular cast member. Obviously Xavier and Hugo's lives will be different with their mother in them fulltime and Tony will now have his sister to worry about. And worry he will when he sees her moving in to an unexpected romantic attraction. Brendan won't be staying in Summer Bay with the family, but I won't spoil your fun by telling you how he finds a new life for himself in a touching and uplifting storyline. Anyway, that's enough for this week. Some promises there of great new characters and interesting, fun, human and emotional stories to come. Next time we'll talk about the hard job of keeping the balance in the show between the more high concept, thriller style stories and the more down to earth human ones and I'll be giving a few hints of some things to come in both styles of story area. | ||||

| INDIGO aka Samara Weaving.. you may have seen her on 'Out of the blue' | hace 116 días | |||
| ndigo Walker and her family have decided to move to Summer Bay. Dr Sid Walker (Robert Mammone)has come to take over Rachel's job at the hospital whilst she is on maternity leave. The kids Indigo (Samara Weaving) and Dexter (Tom Green) are not happy about the move from the City, whilst Jody Walker (Victoria Haralabidou) is looking for a fresh start and to put some distance between Sid and his philandering ways. Dexter is happy to make friends and immediately connects with Annie, but Indigo takes a little longer to warm up. Samara Weaving plays the character of Indigo so we wanted to find out if she was enjoying the role. She is also the niece of Hugo Weaving, so it is encouraging to meet the next generation of Australian talent. You travelled extensively as a child, what was it like growing up in Fiji, Singapore and Fiji? It was good because most children stay in the one spot, but I got to experience different cultures and different lifestyles and I think that’s made me who I am and also it got me into acting. I lived in Singapore for 5 years and it was amazing, it’s so clean and there is no winter, it’s summer all the time. How did it get you into acting? Because we moved on average every two years I was really shy about meeting other school kids and getting along with people, I just wouldn’t talk to anyone for weeks so my parents thought that if they put me into a drama school I might be able to come out of my shell and it worked. Does it help having actors in the family? Yeah on my Dad’s side they are all pretty creative and they are all really supportive, I guess Hugo in particular, but I see him more as an uncle. I had to stay at his house for a few weeks whilst I filming and he would help me with my lines. My Dad is a filmmaker now, he just finished a feature film which is pretty exciting called ‘The Competition.’ You have one sister, Morgan, is she into acting as well? Yes one younger sister, I think she is juggling a lot of ideas at the moment, one day she wants to be an astronaut, the next day an actress..! Have you grown up around sets and film locations? No not really, my first experience was last year on Out of The Blue, so going to Home and Away wasn’t that much of a shock, it was really exciting but I’d had that little bit of experience which really helped. Did you know any of your cast mates or crew from working on Out of The Blue? There were a few crew members and directors and I knew Bernard Curry as well, which was cool. How did you get the part on Home and Away? My agent called me and said there was an audition and I got very excited, so because I live in Canberra, I drove to Sydney and auditioned and then got a call back and my agent said I got the part. How was your character Indigo described to you? She is a troubled teenager, she is dealing with her parents splitting up and blames her father for everything, she really doesn’t get along with her father. I’ve personally had no family issues, so I had to research how Indigo would go about dealing with that awful but quite common family situation. She becomes quite defensive and angry about it. Do you enjoy playing her? Yes she is a lot of fun, she has a lot of attitude and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself or her brother. You have a few confrontations with Nicole, was that hard to play? Tessa is such a lovely person and she is very talented, so it was easy to get into the character and working with Todd is great. Everyone is so friendly and supportive like a little family. Do you think Home and Away is good training for young actors? Yes definitely it’s a lot faster than a movie set, you really have to keep on top of things and be very organised, it’s a big learning experience I guess. We get scripts in ‘blocks’ ahead of time and we have to learn the lines very quickly and then dig deep into the character and find out what their motives are and get into the head of the character. Juggling all of that with school work was difficult. I’m in Year 12, but luckily my family and school have been really supportive. Describe the scene when you fall through the glass table…did you have a stunt double? It was so much fun, I had a stunt double but for a close up I got to smash my head through fake glass. Which film & tv actors do you enjoy watching? Emma Thompson would be my favourite actress and Natalie Portman as well. They are very honest and truthful actresses, they’ve brought a lot to this industry as well as influencing young women everywhere, they haven’t succumbed to the limelight of fame, they have stayed true to themselves and what acting is about. Where would you like to be in five years time? Acting is my passion, I can’t see myself doing anything else, I have done two television shows, so I would like to do a film and maybe go to an acting school and try to progress that way as well. I am doing a double major in drama at school. | ||||

| Hot new talent There are some new faces coming to Summer Bay. Tomorrow you will see the arrival of the Walker family and we will have an interview on the site with Samara Weaving who plays Indigo and the hot new guy you can see in the surf in our Coming Soon Promo is Luke Mitchell who plays Romeo. Music If you like the music in the Coming Soon promo, it is "I'd Rather Be With You" by Joshua Radin. The music for the Behind the Scenes video of the wedding is "Forever For A Day" by Diesel, check out Diesel's website. The track is available on the vinyl release of the album 'Days Like These' and it can be purchased from I Tunes. Light and shade Viewer Jamie asks: In the Herald Sun there was an article about how the most popular shows at the moment were ones with positive, like able people who seem to genuinely respect each other (Masterchef/Packed to the Rafters), while those with back-stabbing and nastiness (eg. Gordon Ramsay) are not rating well. Something to do with people having good self-esteem, so don't want to watch negative shows. With all the negativity, death and violence, its no wonder H&A is struggling in the ratings. The producers and writers have clearly misread the current viewing environment (too bad they write and film so far ahead, they might have seen it coming), which seems kind of stupid on their part considering the Rafters is on the same channel. People want positive and bitter-sweet story lines not depressing stuff after a hard days work....for this same reason the characters of Joey and Ruby are so popular! Reply from Channel 7: "Home and Away" always combines darker and lighter story material, although for variety there are periods where the show is overall lighter and others when it is darker. Some of the show's most successful years were in 2005 when it featured very dark material. Currently there seems to be an audience trend towards liking lighter fare and consequently the tone of Summer Bay will be warming over the next months. But a large number of our viewers do watch the show for gripping and compelling strong drama and that is not going to be decreasing. There will however be more life affirming material to counter balance the darker stories. As to the statement that "Home and Away" is struggling in the ratings, that is not so. It is still winning its time slot. Certainly it dipped for a period against "Masterchef", but then so did every other show against that ratings juggernaut. As soon as "Masterchef" was gone, "Home and Away" bounced back to the Number 1 position in the 7 o'clock slot. Not bad for a show that is 21 years old. Have your say by leaving a comment below. Full Episodes We have added the feature to watch full episodes on our website and as a consequence have begun removing Home and Away content on You Tube and similar sites. This has been requested by our overseas broadcasters who purchase the programme. Our international sales make it possible to produce your favourite show and whilst we understand the requests from some fans, who view online, we are restricted by our copyright laws and can only make it available in Australia at this time. We will be working on a future solution but in the meantime request your patience and understanding. Five TV in the UK are also offering this service on their website for UK fans. | ||||

| DRESSES WORN FOR BELLES WEDDING | hace 116 días | |||
| We all love a Home and Away wedding especially the dresses. Here's a run down on what the girls wore. Belle Pallas Brides created a beautiful cream and black crushed silk organza dress. It had a silk organza overlay with a silk satin underlay. The crushed torn look kept it raw and edgy to suit Belle's character. Her cream and grey snake skin sling back shoes were from London Rebel. Nicole Her black and white geometric print maxi dress was from Manning Cartell. Martha Manning Cartell also dressed Martha. Ruby Her off the shoulder coral dress came from Lilly | ||||

| HOME AND AWAY MYSTERY | hace 116 días | |||
| Series producer Cameron Welsh told TV Week that clues will start coming thick and fast. They asked him the following questions: Can you give us a hint about what clues have already appeared? Angelo's (Luke Jacobz) return is definitely connected - that's something we haven't let anyone know yet. What I can tell you is that the hand that washed up on the beach that Miles (Josh Quong Tart) and VJ (Felix Dean) found is absolutely vital to the mystery. As so is Lou's (David Roberts) death. When will the next clues appear? This storyline is bubbling beneath the surface all the time. It's always there, but the big clues will start to pop up a bit more regularly as we head towards the end of the year. So far they've been spaced out about a month apart, but they'll appear every couple of weeks now. You still need to keep your eye on new characters that emerge who have some sort of mystery surrounding their arrival. Such as the Indonesian character who is brought into the hospital? Absolutely! Is Hugo (Bernard Curry) up to his neck in trouble? There's no doubt he's got some secrets. While we don't know what they are at this stage, he's definitely a character with a mysterious past. Is he connected to it all? It's hard to say. In some ways, everybody's connected to it. Will any past characters come back as the mystery unfolds? Yes. Morag (Cornelia Frances) will return soon, which we're all looking forward to. And Holly Brisley (who plays Amanda) will come back for Belle's wedding. Will there by any further revelations about Jack's (Paul O'Brien) death or is that case closed now? No, that case is closed for good. I know a few people are still clinging to some sort of thin hope that he might be alive and in witness protection - or all sorts of crazy things - but, sadly, that's not the case. He's definitely gone. Also, Belle is not involved in the mystery storyline either. Can you give us any hints about which characters will be affected the most by what happens? Everyone will be affected, and that's the idea of the story we're telling. We've tried to create a storyline that will affect everybody. I don't think there's anyone who will be left untouched by it. Is there anyone to watch specifically? All I can reveal is viewers would do well to let Angelo be their guide through the mystery. He's not always on the right track, but it's fair to say he's in the thick of it. | ||||

| FAREWELL TO CONRAD.. aka ROMAN HARRIS | hace 148 días | |||
| We recently said an emotional farewell to one of the Bay’s best loved characters in a few shocking episodes so we caught up with Conrad Coleby once again to talk about his time as Roman Harris. Roman’s exit was the culmination of a series of events that were sparked by the arrival of an old SAS mate Gardy which Conrad recounts as “old Roman suddenly resurfaces with the influence of Gardy. He’s a bit of a drinker and some of the negative aspects of Roman’s character come back, all the old self – which was the gnarly SAS guy who used to kill people for a living. That was great to take the character there because on the whole, Roman was extremely nice and caring to people and all the rest of it and then occasionally this kind of anger and things would surface that was something else - that brought his darker side right out in the open and it was great to play that so that’s why I’ve really enjoyed the stuff with Gardy.” Roman ends up going to jail and we asked Conrad to share his thoughts on the character’s departure. “The character I think has gone through it’s arc basically. I couldn’t have asked for a better departure to be honest - there was always that dark background to Roman so it needed to be played out and I think the way it was played out was perfect and interesting and fun to shoot. I’ve had some of the best scenes I’ve ever had on television to act in the last 5 weeks of the character so it’s been fantastic.” When asked what the future holds, Conrad talks about wanting to work in theatre, “I’ve always wanted to do more theatre because theatre in my opinion is the best training for an actor and the best area to explore yourself” and as it turns out, we can expect to see him on the Sydney stage in the very near future as he is currently working on a play. He tells of how he is trying to move into film but is “certainly angling for the international market more now”. As with many previous residents of the Bay before him, the assumption exists that LA will be his next move but Conrad responds by proudly and jestfully stating that “It could be on the cards maybe but for the moment I don’t see a need to go; it’s quite easy to audition for things in LA from Australia, you don’t really need to actually go there in my opinion so I’ve been doing that and it’s been working fine. I think I’m quite happy to stay in lovely Australia”. We know from previous interviews that Conrad loves to snowboard and SCUBA dive so he cites some of his favourite locations as being here in Australia, New Zealand or Japan which he tries to do every year. We also learned that he is a musician and if he were not gracing our screens, he would “probably be a photographer, I have a real interest in photography. I take photos all the times.” Conrad fondly describes Home and Away as “a wonderful show to work on and I’ve enjoyed every second of it” and has come to think of his co-workers as family because “you spend so much time together”. Though we will miss him we wish him every success for the future. | ||||

| Lincoln Lewis filmed sex act with teen starlet | hace 164 días | |||
POPULAR young Home And Away actor Lincoln Lewis last night admitted to filming a sex tape with a teenage TV starlet and showing the footage to shocked castmates. Channel 7 has disciplined the Logie winner over his actions, with the 21-year-old understood to be forced into counselling. Lewis, son of rugby league legend Wally, said he deeply regretted his behaviour. More Home And Away strife: Jodi Gordon's bizarre police raid "You do stupid things when you are young," he said last night. "But your learn from your mistakes, that's part of growing up. This mistake, and what I have learnt, will contribute a lot to making me a better person in the future." Special section: Celebrity sex tapes Channel 7 insiders are understood to have taken the matter extremely seriously and are expected to have Lewis - who today was announced as part of the line-up for the upcoming Dancing With The Stars' TV series - undergo counselling. Lewis, a rising star at the network, is understood to have filmed the act on a mobile phone last year. Sources said he showed the footage to cast members and crew on the family soap, who were unimpressed with his behaviour and urged him to get rid of the footage. It is believed the footage has since been deleted. Gallery: Home and Away hottie Lincoln Lewis Lewis was yesterday in Melbourne posing for pictures with scantily-clad dancers as he prepared to take part in the new season of the ratings hit Dancing With The Stars. Channel 7 programming director Tim Worner said the network stood by Lewis. "As soon as Channel 7 was made aware of these allegations we needed to urgently clarify fact from fiction," Mr Worner said. "Lincoln is a young man of tremendous character. He acknowledges and can accept and take responsibility when he has made a mistake and regrets the event which transpired over a year ago." Lewis won a Logie award last year as the best new male talent on TV. Source: The Daily Telegraph | ||||

"It will involve everybody in Summer Bay" Cameron told TV Week. "Every character in the show is involved in some way. Someone is definitely not who they claim to be and they'll do anything to protect their secrets." One of the first major clues is the severed hand that V.J. finds on the beach next week, when he is playing soccer with Miles. It's a gruesome discovery, but who does it belong to? Spoiler Alerts: Keep an eye out for a guy who turns up in hospital and watch out for someone who works with Aden. Are they as innocent as they seem? We will be creating a picture gallery and will add photographic clues each week. If you have a theory, send it to homeandaway@seven.com.au and put 'Summer Bay Mystery' into the subject line.
