Skin Making Programshace 787 días

Here is a list of programs which can be used to make skins: You can download a free trial of all of them.

1. GIMP
Link to free download:
http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

2. Fireworks
Link to free download:
http://www.soft32.com%2Fdownload_351...

3. Paint Shop Pro
Link to free download:
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...

4. Photoimpact
Link to free download:
http://www.download.com/Ulead-PhotoI...

5. Adobe photoshop
Link to free download:
http://www.download.com/Adobe-Photos...

All of these downloads are free, however, some of them are only 30-day trials.
My advice is this: if you want to use the programs but only want the free part of them, download them all, but one at a time.
For Example
Download Paint shop pro... when the free trial runs out download adobe photoshop. Keep that going until you have used them all. That will last you 5months all for free. Can't be bad.

Uploading Skins To Bebo

1. When you have made all 7 modules of your skin, you need to upload them to Bebo. Go to 'Change Skins', 'Roll Your Own' and 'Add A New Skin'. You then need to give it a name and you can add tags. (Keywords which people can use when searching for it.) Then click 'Upload Graphics'. You then need to browse for the files on your computer that go with the listed modules.

2.Once all 7 modules are uploaded, go to 'Edit Style Sheet'. This is where you can change the colour of the main text, hyperlinks and backgrounds. You can pick the colors they have or use HTML codes.

3. Preview the skin to make sure everything is in the right places, and then choose how to use your skin. You can either add it to your favourites so that only you can use it, make it publicly accessible so that everyone can use it, or submit it to be featured.

Making Skinshace 787 días

How To Make a Skin

1. Go to 'change skins' underneath your picture and then go to 'Roll Your Own.' Then, click on 'Read Our Detailed Specification.' This will tell you what sizes your graphics need to be, what format, and the maximum file sizes allowed. You can come back to this at any time, however, you may wish to save it to your computer so it is easier to go back to.

2. Open the program you are using to make your skin, click 'File' and then select 'New'. You then need to type in the correct sizes for the graphic you are making, making sure that the unit selected is pixels. (If you are using Paint, you will need to click on 'Image' and select 'Attributes' to alter the size)

3. Make your skin however you want it, using text, brushes etc. When you have finished, click on 'File ' and select 'Save As'. Make sure you save into the correct file format, and that the file size is not too big.

Adding Brushes To Gimphace 787 días

If you type gimp brushes in google, you'll find loads of websites to download them from. Download the ones you like and then follow the steps below.

(First make sure they are in .gbr format. If they are brushes for gimp that u download they will be)
Some brushes may be in a compressed/zipped file and need to be extracted. Just right click on the folder and select "Extract All"

1.Open My Computer.
2.Then go to your localdisk Drive (C).
3.Press PROGRAM FILES and then go to Gimp and then go to share: gimp: 2.0: brushes.

That is where you will paste the brushes. They should then show up on gimp. YOU CAN DO THIS WITH ANYTHING.. as long as you save it to a .gbr format.

Where to download fonts from
There are lots of websites that you can download fonts from, such as http://www.dafont.com, http://www.linotype.com and http://www.fontriver.com.
I mainly use dafont. You just browse through the different fonts and find one you like, then download it.

Adding a font to your computer
It will be in a compressed (zipped) folder so you will need to extract the files. – Just right-click and select extract all. You then need to find the Fonts folder on your computer, in the control panel and save the font folder into it.
It will then appear in all of your programs.
