The Birthday Massacre will join A-list headliners including Blink-182, Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, Public Enemy, and a dozen more at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest on August 30 at Merriweather Post Pavilion, in Columbia, Md. With entertainment spanning across two stages, a dance tent, and acres of arts and attractions, FreeFest will host The Birthday Massacre as they take to the stage with their fusion of new wave retro rock. | UK / EUROPE tour underway!! | 136 dni temu | ||

| Hello Bebo We are in Manchester, U.K. for the third show of the tour. Decent airplane food on the ride over (for once) and they didn't bust our gear, nor hassle us much at security/customs. Seems like a good start. Day one was a very needed warm up at the John Henry rental/rehearsal space in London. What a brilliant idea to have the rehearsal space in the same building as the rental pro-shop. If you forget to rent something, or leave something behind... it's only two floors up to get what you need. Sweet. It all seems very familiar. Like our last European tour we are sharing a converted double-decker bus. While nicer, it is still rather crowded with 16 people on one bus. So far, it doesn't smell bad. We'll see how long that lasts. As usual it's a constant stuggle for us to get on the internet (and that's IF you brought a power converter for whatever country you're in to charge your laptop or phone). It's not very "rock 'n' roll" to be so concerned about such things... but you miss being able to talk to loved ones easily and we'd love to be twittering and facebook-updating and keeping you guys informed more often. We're working on it. It feels like we were just here a month and a half ago, not a year and a half. Oxford and Nottingham went well...good start to the shows. Looking forward to the Manchester show tonight. Nice to see Novus UK again as our support. The line up outside is a good size already. This venue is a bit more suited to our show set up compared to the odd Satan's Hollow "in the round" venue the last time we were in Manchester. Sound check was delayed due to a noise curfew, but went well. So far the venue stages have been a little cramped for a 6 peice band and difficult to really go all out on. There are some festival stages in the near future that should change this. Rhim's been running and missing the junk he used to eat. Chibi's be fighing off motion sickness and trying to sleep as much as possible (Barf count = 1 and not even from anything cool). She's finished reading her 400 page novel already. Owen's read two books because he keeps waking up at 4am. Rainbow's been tryin to get the power in his bunk working and killing zombies. Falcore's been looking for a sweet deal on Lagavulin. O.E. made the worst sandwich ever and only took one bite of it. Kisou is probably sound asleep on a nice soft couch in Toronto. This makez Chibi jealous.  We finally have all the proper dates and times listed for every show this tour on our MySpace page. There were a couple of last minute changes to the dates at the very end. We now play the M'era Luna festival on the 8th and the Heitere Open Air on the 9th. The Hamburg date was changed to the 5th awhile ago. Time to get ready for the show. See you soon! ~TBM | ||||

| Good Morning Bebo! We're pleased to announce the release of the Live CD "Show and Tell" on May 5, 2009 (May 8th in Europe). This performance was recorded November of 2007. From the Press release: "Since the release of ‘Walking With Strangers’, in September of 2007, The Birthday Massacre have been touring constantly in Europe and North America. While they were touring Germany shortly after it’s release, they played a gig at Knust (a club in Hamburg Germany that holds about 500 people). It just so happened that we gave permission for Crazy Clip, (a local video producer) to record and film the performance. Originally there were only supposed to be 2 or 3 clips aired locally. The project lay dormant for the next 18 months while the band continued touring and then began work on their follow up to Walking With Strangers which is scheduled for release this coming fall. Beginning in December of last year Rainbow and Falcore started going through the video and audio recordings from that Hamburg show and decided that although it wasn't planned for a "live" record, there was an intimate, small-club feel to the whole project that they liked. And so, they set about editing and mixing the tracks to form the CD, ‘Show and Tell', which will be released May 6th. No bells and whistles, no shimmering sleights of hand or studio tricks; just a hard working band on the stage of a small club doing what they do best. This is not a polished record and that is a good thing. For all of those fans who have had to suffer through the phone recordings of some of their favorite songs, this recording will deliver all of the excitement along with the fidelity! The DVD of this concert will follow in a few months. The editing of the video and the 5.1 mix are going to make that project more time consuming undertaking. Drawn from their extensive repertoire, each song is intensified by the bands raw and energetic live performance. This collection will add another dimension to their already sizeable reputation. In addition to being essential listening for current fans of the band, this album is also a great introduction to the music of ‘The Birthday Massacre’ for those who have yet to check them out." | Hi everyone, Chibi here, doing a very fancy "official announcement"! I'm just here to let you know that we will be releasing our very first live DVD/CD within the next few months. | Hi All, We will be releasing a "live" CD and DVD of our Hamburg Show from the Walking With Strangers tour of 2007. We have been working on the files for a few months and we feel confident that we can release a product that comes up to our standard and one that our fans will appreciate. (we're currently hoping to do it in 5.1 surround...) We have not decided whether to release them separately or as a package..... we will let you know when we know! So....here is your chance to help us with our upcoming live DVD. If you have live photos from any Birthday Massacre show and want them to be used as part of this new release, send them to us! | Hi everyone. We're pretty excited about our first tour in Australia. Easily the furthest away from home we've been yet...and playing for people who've we've talked to online, but never seen in person. All new audience. I guess we'll have to make an impression. And..Just as the weather is starting to turn cold up here in Toronto, we are heading south. Good timing. Rehearsals have been going well...we're working pretty hard getting ready for the tour. These will be the longest sets we've played so far..and might include material we haven't played live before. There's still have more rehearsals to go, packing, gear checking...and I still haven't found a can of kangaroo repellent. Only four shows..and who knows when we'll get a chance to come back (it's pretty far from Toronto, heh!). Heck yes, I am looking forward to it. Who's Going? ...and can you help spread the word?
