GIG NEWS - So as most of you know the start to this leg of the AC/DC Black Ice world tour was delayed by two weeks, Brian J had a small issue which has been sorted which is good news. The Answer are heading back to the states this week, first show is in Washington DC, then one of our own shows in New York. Check out the gig section for full info on all shows.

As you know the UK tour is all nailed down now, including two great supports, Mammal and The Black Spiders. Check them both out because we think you will love them. One or two of the shows have all but sold out so if you are thinking of coming along dont delay, again check out the gig section for full info. See you down the front!

SINGLE NEWS - The next single from Everyday Demons will be Comfort Zone. It will be released in November, full info here very soon. Thanks to all of you who made it down to the Oh Yeah centre for the video shoot a few weeks ago. The fruits of this will be on this site within a week, will let you all know when it is here to see, should look great. As I said more info when we have it.

More AC/DC Shows In USAIl y a 95 jours
 
GIG NEWS - So the band are working their way through Canada, they hit the west coast of America next week. The shows have been going great, a big thanks to those of you who made it out to the band's own shows and to those of you who got there early to watch them support AC/DC. They are doing shows of their own in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles so if you live near any of those cities come and enjoy some Irish rock and a few pints with the band. We have just been confirmed on the next run of AC/Dc shows, again in America. The shows run from October 1st thru November 8th, full info in the gigs section. We will be adding a whole bunch of our own shows, more news as we have it. So if you fancy having the band play near you, check the schedule and let us know where you are and where we should be playing!! We probably cant play in your front room though!!

UK TOUR - There is some really great news re the uk dates in November and December. The band are proud and excited to announce that the special guests will be a band from Australia called Mammal, check them out at www.mammaltheband.com Also the opening band will be The Black Spiders, a noisey bunch of rockers from the north of England, check them out at www.theblackspiders.com These two bands along with The Answer are going to make these shows a must see for all rock fans across the UK this autumn, check the gigs section for full info. One or two of the shows are getting close to selling out so dont delay if you want to see this show, see you down the front!

OTHER NEWS - As you may or may not have noticed the band have started tweating on Twitter, check it out. Also have a look at the Royal Artist Club blog to see regular updates form the Black Ice World tour, there are links on the home page.

TOUR NEWS - So sadly the band will not be supporting AC/DC tonight in Lisbon. There has been a very sad death within the family so the band have had to spend the last few days back in Belfast. The guys will be back on stage on Friday in Madrid. Other tour news, we are busy booking shows in America to go along with the dates we will be doing on the AC/DC Black Ice tour there, more news very soon. For those of you in the states we will trying to cover as many towns and cities as we can while we are there. The tickets for the Everyday Demons UK tour are selling well, more news on special guests soon. For the rescheduled UK shows in Brighton, Belfast, Glasgow and Nottingham there will be limited edition poster given out to the first 100 through the doors each night, a little thank you to the hard corps fans for having to rearrange these shows. The same poster will be on sale at the shows for any one who arrives late. There are a few returns for the shows in Nottingham and Brighton so if you missed out first time round give the venues a call now to grab the last few tickets. As I said more news here soon.

ALBUM / SINGLE NEWS - The re-issue of Everyday Demons will be out in main land Europe next week, see previous news story. The next single is TONIGHT which is released in the UK on June 28th now. The digital bundle will include unreleased versions of Tonight and Dead Of The Night. The version of Tonight is a great acoustic version and the version of Dead Of The Night is a live electric version. For the completists out there these will appear on cd later this year so dont sweat it.

OTHER NEWS - Our good friends at Across The Line on BBC Radio in Nortern Ireland rather rashly offered to let the band take over the show for the night, the results will be aired on June 8th at 8 pm until 10 pm. The show was prerecorded so they could edit out all the swearing!! Check it out if you can. If you miss it or live else where then you should be able to hear it at www.bbc.co.uk/atl the following day.

Due to ligament / tendon damage to drummer James Heatleys left hand, THE ANSWER regret to announce the postponement their imminent UK headline club shows. The affected shows are as follows:

Apr 20th Belfast Mandela Hall
Apr 22nd Nottingham Rescue rooms
Apr 24th Glasgow Grand Central

RESCHEDULED DATES ARE (ALL TIX WILL BE VALID FOR THE NEW DATES):

JUNE 29th BELFAST MANDELA HALL
JULY 2nd GLASGOW GRAND CENTRAL
JULY 3rd NOTTINGHAM RESCUE ROOMS

Says singer Cormac Neeson, “We are bitterly disappointed to have to postpone our UK headline shows especially for all our fans who have been waiting so patiently for so long. We have left the decision to the absolute last minute in the hope that the medical problem with our drummer James might get better. Unfortunately his hand is swollen and he is in immense pain. He has struggled with pain-killers to get through the recent 30 minute support sets on the AC/DC tour and whilst he can perform a short support set, it is a medical impossibility for him to perform a full one hour and fifteen minute headline set at present.

We are all very upset that we cannot play our full headline show and we will reschedule the postponed shows as soon as we can.

Furthermore and as a token of our appreciation to all our disappointed fans we will provide a free and new limited signed tour poster for everyone who has purchased a ticket and this will be distributed at the rescheduled shows.

Once again we are very sorry at not being able to perform but you know we would never postpone any show unless it was an absolute necessity and in this case we are all hoping that James will make a swift and speedy recovery”

Due to unavoidable circumstances THE ANSWER have to regrettably postpone this evenings show in Brighton.

Drummer James Heatley has suffered a recurring damaged arm and cannot perform this evening. The band would like to express their deep regret at being unable to perform in Brighton this evening. The show will be rescheduled and a new date reissued soon. All tix will be valid for the new show.

Album + Gig NewsIl y a 304 jours
 
NEW ALBUM- So we are reaching the final stages of getting the album ready, there are some of the new songs on MySpace already, they will be on this site this week too. The first single will be On + On which will be released on Feb 22nd. Full details of b-sides etc soon. The video to On + On is on our youtube channel so check it out. The good people at Planet Rock, Scuzz TV, Radio One, Kerrang TV + Radio, XFM and many others are already playing the single so have a look or listen out for it. As you know the album will be called 'Everyday Demons', it will be released in Japan late January, in the UK it will be released on March 2nd, in Europe some countries will release it the week before that and the others will be the same as the UK. In America it will be released on 31st March. There will be four formats in each country, a standard cd, a very special cd version, a deluxe vinyl version and a download version. Full details of each format in each country will be on this site very soon, I can tell you now though there is going to be plenty to get you all very excited. There should be pre-order links up already at HMV, Play.com, Amazon and Townsend so go and have a look and place an order or leave a comment even. More news on all this soon.

GIGS - The band are back in America with AC/DC, currently freezing their nuts off, check out the Royal Artist Club Blog on the news page. The Dingwalls show is sold out, but for any one who cant get to that show we will have some news for you, you may not miss out completely. We have confirmed our own shows in Paris, Cologne, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna, Lucerne and Belfast already, there will be more of our shows confirmed next week so watch the gig section for full info. We are also close to confirming some Japanese shows, again more news very soon. The gigs will be coming thick and fast over the next few weeks so hopefully we can see you all some where very soon. Any one with tickets for the AC/DC shows in Feb, March or April make sure you get there early!

WEBSITE - This site along with Myspace, Bebo etc will be getting a overhaul over the next few weeks, some of it will be done bit by bit so expect changes soon. All of the sites will have new songs on, there will also be other give aways etc over the next month or so, so keep em peeled. Still need content for the Vault especially anyone who has clips or photos from any of the AC/DC shows, send them on and we will post them for all the see.

So here we are again, the end of another year in the life of The Answer. For me these twelve months can be split into two parts. There was the first period in which we were vigorously attempting to create the album of the decade (while still maintaining our artistic integrity of course) and there was this second part which we’re currently still very much engrossed in...a 42 date tour of the states with AC/DC.
We’ve made a lot of great friends along the way. There was The Answer’s first pool party in Austin Texas back in March which was an eye opener to say the least. The six weeks spent in L.A. recording Everyday Demons was an intensely enjoyable experience we’ll never forget. We even managed to squeeze a couple of Belfast gigs in, which as always did not disappoint. The Black Ice tour however which began way back in October and runs for the foreseeable future has been bigger, louder and more earth shatteringly rockin’ than any project we have partaken in before. I think its safe to say that we’re ready for a few Christmas pints in Quinns Bar Newcastle and a night in a proper bed.

As a final note before the festive spirit takes over in a hail of hot whiskies and pub sing songs I just want to say to all you loyal Answer supporters out there that we appreciate everything you have done and continue to do for us. You’re the people that make it all possible and keep this boat afloat. We’re gonna be squeezing in as many of our own headline shows in as we possibly can over the next few months so we’ll see you soon. But in the meantime keep those everyday demons at bay and have a rockin Christmas. We love you!!! X

Hey Everyone, please see below a press release that goes out today:

IRISH ROCK BAND 'THE ANSWER' TO OPEN FOR AC/DC'S BLACK ICE WORLD TOUR STARTING OCTOBER 28TH.

The Answer are proud to announce that they will be the opening act for the imminent North American leg of AC/DC's Black Ice World tour. The tour runs between the 28th October to the 31st of January, with highlights including dates at New York's Madison Square Garden on November 12th + 13th, and two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles on December the 6th and 8th. Prior to the AC/DC shows The Answer will be performing their New York debut at a CMJ show at The Crash Mansion on October 25th.

Lead singer Cormac Neeson said - "It is an honour and a privilege for The Answer to be offered the opportunity to support probably the greatest rock 'n' roll act on the planet. We are incredibly humbled."

So, once the dust has settled I will put the all of the gigs on the gigs page. There will be lots more to discuss and post so watch this space. For anyone who bought tickets to see The Answer play with Black Stone Cherry, we would humbly suggest you go along anyway. It will still be a great night out. If you do want to get a refund then the place to start would be customer services on the Live Nation web site. A big thanks to Black Stone Cherry for the offer, and good luck to them on that tour. The Answer will still be playing the show at the Spring + Airbrake in Belfast next Thursday, even more reason to go now!
