TROON LADIES HOCKEY CLUB <TroonHC>

	FINALLY THE LEAGUE HAS STARTED	386 dni temu
	After a long wait we have finally played some League games. The first game was away to Cumbernauld. We struggled with our match fitness and lost 4: 2. We then played Glasgow Uni at home and drew 1:1. The following weekend we were up against league leaders East Kilbride and played some lovely hockey. We were up 2:1 and crusing nicely to victory, we played the better hockey but our failure to score more goals meant they came back at us and won 3:2. Our defence was outstanding and overall it was a good team effort. EK complimented us by saying we were the best team they had played so far. We then went on to win our next 2 games against Garnock Ladies away 2:1 and Loch Lomond away 4:0. Our next game is on sat 29th Nov against our old favourites Glasgow Accies. We have a few injuries to some key players so lets hope we can pull together and get a result.

	We are pleased to announce that we are still playing our home games at Whitletts. The changing facility will be refurbished, so all is good. 	We have decided to enter into the District Cup only next season. We will give the Scottish Cup a miss.We will focus on staying in Division 1 and having another stab at the District Cup only. Watch with interest.

	Troon Ladies held their AGM at the South Beach Hotel on Wednesday 4th June 2008. It was an interesting evening to say the least and their were some suprises in store. After a very healthy season in Division 1, we finished 2nd behind Western,the Club faced a crisis. We were loosing at least 5 key players, GK, CD, RM, RW AND LW, (in November.). Lillian, our CM was intending to finally hang up her boots, but having heard the sad news, she felt she at least had to commit to getting fresh blood into the club. So if anyone is interested in playing for Troon Ladies, regardless of age or ability please get in touch. Leave a message on our page. It would be sad to see the club folding as we still have amazing talent, ranging from ages 14 to 44. The following committe was voted in: Club Coach: Rhoda Captain: Charlie Vice: Lillian Match Sec: Hendo Sec: Gill Treasurer: Hannah We are hoping to remain playing at AYR, whether it be Whitletts or Cambusdoon. We have a few feelers out with regards to using the new surface at Doonside, the new facility belonging to WELLINGTON SCHOOL.It only remains to be said "watch this space".

	WELL THAT'S ANOTHER SEASON FOR THE ALMIGHT TROON LADIES HOCKEY CLUB. WE FINISHED A VERY HEALTHY 2ND IN DIVISION 1 WEST LEAGUE, WITH ONLY 2 POINTS BEHIND THE WINNERS GLASGOW WESTERN. WE GOT THROUGH TO THE QUARTER FINALS OF THE SCOTTISH CUP AND A WEAKENED SQUAD TRAVELLED TO ABERDEEN WITHOUT 2 OF OUR MIDFIELD PLAYERS, LIL AND CARLY. WE WEREN'T SURE ABOUT GOING AS WE KNEW OUR PERFORMANCE WOULD NOT BE UP TO PAR DUE TO THE BIG DENT IN OUR MIDFIELD. WE DID GO AND GAVE IT OUR BEST. WE HELD THEM TO 0:0 UNTIL THE LAST 6 MINS AND THEY CAME AT US AND WON 3:0. WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF OUR USUAL SQUAD WERE PLAYING!!!!!! SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED IN THE FINAL OF THE DISTRICT CUP. THE DATE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 10TH MAY BUT THEY BROUGHT IT FORWARD TO 26TH APRIL. THIS MEANT AGAIN WE WERE WITHOUT CARLY AND AN INJURED LIL. WE WERE LEADING 1: 0 AT HALF TIME BUT WERE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THE LEAD OR INDEED SCORE ANY MORE GOALS, ALTHOUGH WE HAD LOADS OF CHANCES. ACCIES CAME AT US AND WON THE GAME 4:1. I THINK AGAIN THE RESULT MIGHT HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT HAD WE HAD OUR FULL SQUAD FULLY FIT. EXCUSES, EXCUSES...................... HERE'S TO THE NEW SEASON AND NEW ATTITUDES. TROON TROON SUPER TROON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
