| Hi Everyone, The acoustic dates are getting closer now and the album is almost finished. | Hello everyone, I'd like to start by thanking every single one of you who has ever come to an Elliot Minor show, bought an album, watched a webisode, listened to us on the radio, watched a music video or shown any kind of support for us over the past four years - you are the reason I've been able to experience the things I've experienced. I'm lucky enough to hold some great memories from the past few years and I can honestly say that since I joined the band in 2006 the time has flown by. This is tribute to both you guys but also to Dan, Ed H, Ed Minton and Alex who will, I hope, remain close friends. I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved over the past four years and I'm confident that great things still can be achieved with Elliot Minor. Unfortunately however, I've decided that this September will be my last tour with the band. I have decided to pursue other things, not related to music, and despite being rather sad at having to make this decision I'm equally very excited to be taking on new challenges. This decision was not taken lightly though and I will certainly never take for granted what I've gained from my time with the band. I'd like to personally thank everyone of you at the September shows because you've all been a massive part of my Elliot Minor experience - your dedication and enthusiasm is incredible and I can't thank you enough for that. I'm massively looking forward to all the shows in September so to see as many of you there as possible will make it that bit more special for me. Even if you don't want to vote there is some great music to check out, I have spent many hours listening. We have been thinking about what songs we will play on these dates cause it is going to be the last full band shows for quite some time as we will have a new album to write and record. Thinking about adding Turn This Back Around, Last Call To New York, She Gets Around and maybe Broken Minor. Lots of recording happening on the acoustic album of Solaris, been doing some violin, piano, cello and when Ed gets back from Japan next week some vocals. We are trying for a November 8th release date with acoustic shows over the weekends in November and early December. The release will be CD only along with a DVD of the Kerrang live special and it will only be available through www.elliotminor.com. | Konichiwa from Tokyo, what an amazing Festival Summersonic was, so many great bands playing and an awesome setup. We had a great time playing and even more fun just wandering around checking it all out. Got to hang out at a Calvin Harris after show party that was loads of fun. On Monday night we got to play our own show at the Daikanyama Unit in Tokyo, a big thanks to everyone who came out to see us. We have been hanging out with Ed in Japan for the week but more about that in a Video Blog. Big news for us is that the Live Kerrang TV special is being broadcast on the Kerrang Video channel on Monday 16th August at 9pm. That's next Monday so please spread the word for us. A new video blog has been put together from when we were on the road in England it is up on our Youtube page at: http://www.youtube.com/elliotminor There have been loads of great bands who have asked to play the opening slot on the September dates. The voting is up, you can go check them all out and vote for whoever you want to have as the opening band at a show near you. There is no rigging going on, whoever gets the most votes plays, simple as that. | We want to give local bands the chance to open for us on our September tour. If you know a band who would like to be the opening act on the 3 band bill, with a 30 minute set then tell them to register with us by them emailing playwithem@elliotminor.co.uk and further details will be sent by return email. Bands can choose what show they want to play at and their fans can vote for them to win. The only way to get to play is if the band wins the voting poll which will be up at www.elliotminor.com when the list of bands wanting to play is finalized. | Hi Everyone, Last weekend we were doing shows in Paris and Amsterdam, a big thanks to everyone who came out to see us. We put together a video blog #24 for you. It is up now at: http://www.youtube.com/elliotminor Loads of you have seen the video for ?I Believe? on TV or our Youtube. We love reading all the comments, some that have been about the video concept. "I believe" was written during the early stages of writing the Solaris album and came just before "The Dancer". That?s why you may hear a similarity of moods, ambiences and drama between the two tracks! The song in itself is about supporting, sticking by someone, even when you're convinced they're involved in a secret crime! We came up with the story line for the video that our playing in the basement of the theatre was helping the dancer get through a bad time with some nasty people trying to hold back her career and the creepy theatre manager hitting on her. Of course we shot loads of other footage but all the music channels and radio stations want 3 minute 30 second versions of everything so we just have to make it all work. We are really happy with the result and hope you are all enjoying it. Requesting the video at all the music channels is a huge help and of course requesting to your favourite radio station helps even more, but especially Radio 1.
