Ads on profile page

So we just did something we don't often do at bebo: we added a new ad unit, in this case to the top of the profile page in a few countries.

The money from the new ads will be used to make Bebo better for everyone. Specifically, we will:
- hire engineers to build more bebo features (stay tuned for lots of exciting features coming in the next few weeks)
- buy more servers to make bebo faster
- and buy lots of pizza so that your favorite Bebo staff members can keep working all day and all night making Bebo great

It's always tough updating such a central page, but we hope this will help Bebo continue to grow and improve.

Things I learned at work last night

- The lights go off at 11pm.
- You can get a lame but working lamp from the empty part of the office
- The lights come back on at 4:30
- The security guard listens to the Beauty and the Beast sound track at night.

I really like Kiva 'cause it lets me help out needy people without just donating money, instead giving them a chance to start a business and make money on an on going basis.

On Vacation in Maine

For my brother Kersi's graduation. Only my second day off work, but I already feel like I've been on vacation for a week! A ton of my family on both sides came out: cousins Rukshan and Zia, Zia's new hubby Minno, Ruk and Zia's mom Nina, Nina's sister Laila, our great aunt Hilla, all on my father's side. On my mother's side, her parents, and all 3 of her brothers: William (and wife Glenda), David, Brian (and wife Shelly) and her sister Shirly and husband Tim. I think that's it... but a huge crew. Tomorrow we go to Kersi's graduation: first a small gathering for those graduating from Forestry school with him, and then graduation with all members of the 2007 class. (well, half really, there are 2 ceremonies).

It's a very complex trip, I won't even get into all the lodging we're moving between this trip. But it's great to be with family and take a break from california craziness.
