	EX DEO - ANNOUNCE TOURING BASSIST FOR PAGANFEST EUROPE EX DEO’s Maurizio Iacono has issued the following update regarding the upcoming PaganFest Europe tour: “EX DEO have enlisted bassist Dano Apekian from Montreal, Quebec’s melodic death metal outfit ASHES OF EDEN. We knew that Francois Mongrain (MARTYR) couldn’t make it on some tours with EX DEO even before we asked him to perform on the album...we needed a person that could be there when called upon for touring. Dano has good stage experience and will serve Rome's conquest proudly! I would also like to also dismiss any claim that EX DEO is part of any Christian based band or beliefs. These are false allegations of people who have obviously not educated themselves with history. Rome was part of Polytheism beliefs, in other words, it was pagan, the belief in multiple gods, not Christianity until Emperor Constantine declared the Christian religion legal in Rome. That was the biggest mistake they ever made, it was the start of the fall of Rome and its ideals of free thinking, and for those who dismiss these things as something of the 'past,' well let me tell you that you live in the results of those past events and your way of thinking is based on it, and all the freedoms you take for granted. 	KATAKLYSM - GUITARIST DETAINED BY FEDERAL AGENTS!	162 giorni fa
	Canada's KATAKLYSM recently returned home after two separate very successful shows in St-Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. Unfortunately, upon arriving in America guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais was pulled from line at customs and detained by federal agents. Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "Well, this was one odd week especially yesterday. First, we finally flew out to Russia for the first time and we didn't know what to expect. There's always been this grim picture painted of that country to us. Having said that, we thought we'd arrive under dark skies, with rain and depressed looking people everywhere. Instead, we arrived to sunshine and enthusiastic people that looked happy and energetic and we were through customs in matter of minutes. So I said to myself, 'This will be interesting.' We were soon greeted there with open arms by the promoters and we were off. We played St-Petersburg first then Moscow. The shows were fantastic and everything was top notch. Fans knew all the lyrics and went ballistic! We even had Russian special forces soldiers stage diving! It was just a crazy, all-around good time and the shows were packed! I could have stayed there another week but we said our goodbyes and headed back home. "We arrived in Washington D.C. with a layover to Chicago where I live now (the rest of the band still live in Montreal). So we grabbed our bags and went through immigration with no problems, as expected. As we're waiting in line for the customs exit, some uniformed guy grabs J-F and takes him away with his bags. We assumed it was just a random check. "So we make our way to our next gate for our plane and realize it's been over an hour and there's still no sign of J-F. This was 4 p.m. I go back to the customs area and the place is deserted. At this point, we started worrying and asking questions but we received no answers. We decide to board our plane at 4:30 p.m. with still no sign of him. Someone from United Airlines tells me finally he won't be joining our flight but still no reason is given. At this point I'm like, 'What the fuck is happening?' "So we jet out of D.C. and get back to Chicago where the guys were staying over at my house until today to go back to Canada. After fruitless calls to the airport we just decided to wait for some sort of sign of life. That sign came at 11 p.m. in Chicago at O'Hare airport. "Apparently, Washington customs official grabbed J-F and threw him in a room with only one chair and a table. He was there for five hours until they finally talked to him and they told him that he was wanted internationally and by the U.S. government. I could have imagined his face when they told him this, it must have been priceless. People that know J-F know he couldn't hurt an ant. He's one of the most down-to-earth and sweetest people you could meet. After a few hours of denying everything, Interpol sent in a picture and that picture didn't match his. What happened was that there was another Jean-Francois Dagenais that is listed in the FBI's most wanted list and they thought they'd caught him. I mean, what the fuck!? He was given a tap on the shoulder and apology and rebooked to Chicago! Even though we were really worried, all of us laughed it off at the end. 	KATAKLYSM recently checked in from the road while on tour with NAPALM DEATH. Frontman Maurizio Iacono offered the following update: "The shows have been good and everything is under control. We look forward to all the dates and completing the touring cycle for Prevail in 2009. We will do some Euro festivals immediately after this tour is done and then go to Russia and Europe for a short headliner with DEATH ANGEL. The last thing on the agenda regarding KATAKLYSM will be a full European headliner in January 2010 to wrap things up until the next album. So after these tours are done our focus will immediately change to our new band EX DEO, which will be released by Nuclear Blast Records in June. The hype behind Romulus is gaining massive momentum and this is such a big project! We need get things ready with the live aspect of things and to rehearse and be prepared for Paganfest Europe. Having said that we decided to decline all tour offers coming for KATAKLYSM for the rest of the year. We might also bring this epic band to the States but were not sure yet, since it has to be the right tour. So if you want to watch KATAKLYSM in the states one last time before the next album drops (not before 2011), this would be the tour to come visit us and party like we usually do. Maurizio says, "The setup was extremely pro. Stanimir and Ivan did such an amazing job and paid attention to every single detail. To recreate Rome and the story of Romulus and Remus was a big challenge, but I think we nailed it and the ideas behind it are incredible. Expect an epic feel, like the movie 300!"

	KATAKLYSM recently returned home from Mexico after a sold out show at the Hard Rock Live in Mexico City on January 16, 2009. The performance marked the groups first appearance in the country since 1995. Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "Mexico blew our minds and was better than we ever expected! I’m so glad we took this chance and went there. The crowd was hungry and I think it was the loudest I’ve heard people chant our lyrics! We played songs off everything from ‘Sorcery’ to the latest record Prevail and it went great. We want to give a big thank you to Eyescream Productions and all the fans. We shall return!” In other news, KATAKLYSM have confirmed three headlining shows. The first being the metal and hardcore festival in Colfontaine, Belgium and the latter being the bands first ever Russian dates!
