| Hey people. Ive decided to start keeping this blog up to date so people can check out what we are up to. First of all id like to say that we have had a brilliant time in uist the last couple of weeks. A big thank you to the carnish inn and dark island for putting us up. We did a dance for the kids which was immense so thank you to all the wee people that made it fun (everyone check out our wicked support band Ask Me Later) Now, onto the future. Our Debute album 'Edge of Reason' which was first recorded in 2000 has been remastered in Metropolis studios in London. Which is the same place as muse, u2, amy macdonald pendulum among many others get their mastering done. It sounds 10 times better and the artwork has also been redesigned for the new release. The first batch of edge of reason sold out quickly and it has been unavailable for many years. We are currently recording a brand new album. We are hoping it will be out at the end of summer depending on how long we are away from home touring. Talking about touring, we are doing a lot of fun stuff this summer. First of all, Keith (vocals, keyboards) and DC(drummer) are playing at a T-break heat for dotjr (james reeves from our lunar activities). James is a good friend of ours and regularly records in our studio. If we get through then dotjr will be heading to t in the park! As for face the west, there seems to be loads more in the pipeline. What has been definately confirmed in the heart of the summer is the Heb Celt Fest, then we are away to ireland to tory island for a festival, then back for barrafest. Face the west will also be doing a tour at the end of may round the north east area check out the (waterfront nightclub in wick) Also face the west will be doing their 1st gig in skye (long over due!) at the skye games in portree. On top of all this Keiths solo project "Keith Morrison" and dotjr among other superb local bands are all going to "go north" festival in dundee. Thanks to honcho's never tiring support for local music. This opportunity was thanks entirely to their selfless efforts. so catch us when and if you can, look forward to seeing you ! face the west | ||||

| Edge Of Reason Has Arrived | 614 dagen geleden | ||

| The re-mastered, re-done album 'Edge of Reason' arrived at my house today. I have been busy sending them out to our various agents and managers all day. The artwork looks amazing and has been printed perfectly, and the re-master of the audio makes it sound very powerfull and dynamic. The cd will be in shops on the 1st of May. The delay is due to oraganising things with distributers, and to give our marketing a chance to up the hype. If you like you can leave a comment on this blog and i will make sure you get a cd. Oh and if there's any ex-face the west members out there reading this, email me your address!!! | ||||

| The world of music is a strange place to be. One of the strange parts is putting the music asside to organise.....well everything! We have planted many seeds the last couple of months and some results are starting to pop their head out of the ground. Some are to early to declaire but we do finally have a couple of definate festival dates. Heb Celt Fest 08: Wednesday the 16th of July. Breasclete, After the Hunger Mountain Boys . Barrafest 2008: Friday 25th of July, in barra! We will keep you posted with any more definate bookings as they come. Remember the re-mastered 'Edge of Reason' Album is out soon and we are well on the way to finishing recording the new album. thanks to our fans ;-) keith | ||||

| Due to an EXTREEEEMLY popular demand we have started the ball rolling for re-releasing face the west debut album 'Edge of Reason' The masters have been sent to Metropolis studios in London (who's clients include U2, Muse, Queen, Elton John, Stereophonics, Texas, The Prodigy, The Cure, Craig David, Travis, David Bowie etc etc) to be re-mastered. The album cover is also going to be redesigned The album will be ready for release in local shops in the western isles, Itunes, Napster and many other digital download sites in April. | We would like to announce our new accordion player to face the west. His name is Alasdair Maclean, who is also playing with the band 'Portrona' Alasdair passed auditions with the band. First of all he had an x-factor audition in the studio, then suffered a cold face the west practise in a garage. Then roughed with the locals in the Star before being dragged on a small tour to Uist. This way we found out that Alasdairs ability was as good if not better than what we needed, and found that he is a cool guy to be around (very important when your stuck with band members for all of your time!!!) | ||||
