| Thank you to everyone who came to the Omagh and Belfast EP launches. Heres the BBC ATL review of the Belfast launch. Colenso Parade are topping the bill tonight, launching their new EP, with their intelligent indie pop-rock, with something a little bit different in there as well. It's that modern British sound, based on the great music of the 60s with touches of Merseybeat in there - �See The Smile' is a like a more laid-back The Coral, and following a dedication to their post-birthday hungover friend they batter out punky pop with bubblegum tinges. �Something Easy' shows they're a band who your parents would approve of, then, when Mum and Dad step out of the room, do what you want them to do. It's in the vein of the contemporary London sound, the likes of The Libertines, Razorlight, and Dirty Pretty Things, but they seem to be re-interpreting the same sources rather than copying the more modern bands, and �Loves' could easily come from Barat & co. They aren't just stuck in this style though, and are equally capable of MC5-esque garage rock or a brilliant Franz-Abba (trust me on this) hybrid with �As Good As It Gets', with it's cracking high bass and choppy drums. Unfortunately, despite this being their EP launch, their guitarist seems to fail to understand the concept of capitalism, and may be suggesting that their music is available in exchange for potatoes, rather than cash. Something to work on for the next show perhaps, but they finish off with more good-time fun indie pop, called �You Just Don't Know Me At All.' If you don't know them, then you're missing out. Speakeasy (prounounced Spake-aisy for comical rural folk that we pretend to be more than we actually are) tonight! Featuring us ones, and them other ones playing a series of notes in quick succession for extended periods of time! It promises to be a great gig, but how it makes that promise goes beyond me, for an occasion can't really do anything except be. It can't really make that promise, so I, Michael McCullagh, am making that promise for it, and I would like to see it object, what with it being simply an occasion with no ability to express itself, it would be quite the feat. | As you might already know the BBC have been silly enough to to fund my very own TV show . It will be on in the new year on BBC3 and I am very excited about it . There will be good celebrity guests , not rubbish ones and brilliant bands playing brilliant music . And of course a pregnant me trying to present it all . More importantly I want you all to be involved in some way ( if you're interested ) . A big part of the show will be based around you guys, so please go and sign up on the show website for chances to get involved , like being in the audience , or sending stuff in for me to talk about , or sending in questions for my guests . I should warn you it looks a bit crap at the moment , but we'll be updating it more and more everyday , and it's going to be amazing soon .
