| Maranchez review by Eternia Music www.maranchez.com www.myspace.com/maranchez 4 piece rock-gods from Scotland, influenced by various seminal rock bands like Alice In Chains & Iron Maiden. Maranchez are: Nate Ramsay -Vocals, Tom Ramsay -Guitar, Gordy Crawford -Bass, Brian wilkins -Drums. Their music is characterised by their most memorable, catchy (anthemic) melodies, stunning musicianship & classic rock sound, which spans the whole spectrum between delicate acoustic, through to thunderous (stadium) electric hard-rock. If you like guitar, you're in for a feast - every gorgeous guitar sound is here, plus quite a few new ones as well. Full blooded, full on, in your face - this is classic rock at it's very best! What makes them great is their songs, written by Tom the guitarist, & Nate the lead vocalist - (brother of Tom) combined with Nates' soaring vocals, & the overwhelmingly impeccable musicianship. Toms' simply stunning, guitar riffs, played against the backdrop of a supertight rhythm section, provided by drummer Brian & Bassist Gordy - evokes the feelings associated with many of the great rockers from music history. People like Hendrix, Derick & The Dominoes, Thin Lizzy, Boston - even Fleetwood Mac. Not that they sound like these - Maranchez have their own distinctive sound, but their music makes us remember these greats, because it's honest & unpretentious. I wish more bands were like that. These qualities should eventually see Maranchez take their rightful place among these greats - provided they keep doing what they're doing - so it's up to US to give them our support. Normally I don't listen to 'rock' as such - but there's something to appeal to everyone in this music. We all love a great song - & boy can these guys write, play & sing them!! Just listen to 'Sleep when I'm dead', 'Dust' or the (to be a classic) 'Deliverance' ....to name just a few - but All their songs are great - check them out for yourself! Every song is unlike all the others - yet still remaining coherant with the Maranchez sound. This quality ensures that you'll never tire of listening to Maranchez - quite the opposite in fact! Primarily a 'live' band - & seeing them live is something I'm looking forward to very much, because I can tell that's where they will really shine most. So go on - check out Maranchez, become a fan & help this prolific & hard-working band gain their, much deserved recognition. There really is no-one else like Maranchez - they're awesome!!! | Capitol Glasgow. 10th May So Maranchez, the best rock band in the country and if you've not been to see them live you really are missing something! They played the new tune, "Born to lose" which is a really catchy tune, the kind that gets into my head and won't leave! Unfortunately that meant we didn't get "Black Days" which is a great live tune but hey, you can't have everything you want in life and if Maranchez played everything I wanted to hear they'd be on stage all bloody night!! | |||

| Last on the player but not least, Maranchez, a sensational and powerfull scottish four piece band, that i love to death! They are Nate Ramsay on vocals, Tom Ramsay on guitar, Brian Wilkins on drums, and Gordy Crawford on bass. They deliver a merciless rock repertoire, musically in between past and contemporary sounds, blending strong melodies and very aggressive riffs, the final result it's just magic and perfect: that's what rock music is all about!! Apparently their live performances must be seen to be believed, i haven't had the previlege to see them on stage, but i trust this opinion judging their studio sounds, obsessive contagious rhythms, great vocals a la Axl Rose and beautiful songs that i played many times without a dull moment. What a band!! Heavy rock stuff but no metal indulgence, see the compelling"The Fallen", the wonderful "Escape The Past", a little rock masterpiece, the lovable "Dust" and the syncopated and fascinating "Sleep When I'm Dead", another legendary track. So i suggest you to visit their page, you won't be disappointed at all, believe me!! www.myspace.com/maranchez | |||

| Maranchez - Ivory Blacks Glasgow 16 Feb Can't remember the first bands name, did they even tell me?, anyway not really my thing. But then Maranchez who's tunes are completely my thing and their live show just has to be heard/seen. They're Fuckin' Great, blew the roof off the place, got a great response from the crowd. That's something they do well, take hold of a crowd and 'own' them for the duration of the set (unless it's just me who's transported to another reality while they play?). | |||
