Chaos Theory, LDN, Beach Party??? 193 giorni fa

Hah, and out of the the mist stumbles Mr Reid, Chaos, I love it!!! Well, frick me, it's been a full and random week. I'm mash up from running around all over the place like a fool! I had a good old show at the BBC, highlights 'n' stuff coming soon to myspace. Got read the Jonathan Ross Riot Act pre interview, easy tiger, but was a good laugh! City Showcase was great piece of chaos and organisation all mashed into one, played 2 shows and went to see some great stuff 2, so much goin on there stumbling around the streets of London; ended with a few drinkies @ The Borderline. Nicely done!!

The new single 'Talking Dead' is back from N.Y and is now live on www.myspace.com/oceanreid and will be closely followed by the video in a couple of days. So that bad boy will be posted on You-Tube very soon!!!! Crackin, it's all goin off!! Will be trading in the streets of LDN for the streets of Brighton for a few days and mixin it up at the Great Escape for a few days now, so I may be very quiet for a few days. I may just be gone, who knows. Did somebody mention an after party beach party, or did I hear that wrong???

Somebody save me, FROM ME!!!!

Multi Blog, UK Tour, Art Stuff, Burning Eyes, WEB-F**KOLOGY!!! 239 giorni fa

OK, it's been a busy weekend of top socials and I'm about to crack on with recording more material for my debut album. Well let me say that was the case........... Then about almost 4 hours ago I sat down to zap a blog out to anyone who is interested in what I'm getting up 2 behind these closed little doors. Bloggin, I just don't do as often as I should, the main reason is that there are so many social networking sites on the go now and I want to speak to everyone on every network!! I'm sat here with my eyes burning in front of this computer and I've lost all of tonights recording time. So to try get around the fact that I'm sick of transferring my comments around different sites, because I'm well F**KED OFF with it!!! I've just joined iLike to see if I can communicate with you guys easier. I have a myspace page I hope this will appear on plus face book and a dead bebo page that I just haven't been near for ages.

So now I've spent most of the night setting things up, I hope I haven't wasted my time. If anyone knows any better, please tell me, cause I'm apparently a musician not content manager or whatever you call this type of crazy WEB-FU*KOLOGY????????????

So anyhow, eyes cracking and hangover throbbing in a hideous way I can now tell you that I am very happy to be on the books now with Funky Jam who are to represent me as my UK agent. So watch this tiny self replicating space (so iLike promise me!!) as it should be filling up with lots of 'Talking Dead' tour dates. Oh yeah, I'm gonna upload the now official 'Talking Dead' cover with this blog, as that came in on Friday and I'm chuft with it.

So guys, I will be disappearing into my little secret rehearsal cellar to rehearse up for live over the next couple of days, but I will be surfacing from underneath that certain Brighton pub to check in soon.

If I don't, I've probably got home and found out this iLike Blog thing hasn't worked and legged my computer out of the window!!!!

Soon, Ocean ;-)

Beachdown Updates on Tiscali:

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/festivals/f...

Los Albertos and Drookit Dogs are among the local bands set to play this year's Beachdown Festival.

Brighton-based acts Mean Poppa Lean, Sweet Sweet Lies, Gloria Cycles and The Perils have been confirmed for event in a bid to support talent from the region.

Other bands confirmed include The Beautiful Word, Portslade, Ocean Reid, Chris Simmons, Seeker, Two Spot Gobi and reggae act Rebel Control.

Speaking today's announcement organiser Joe Pidgeon said: "Beachdown is all about creating a festival that is uniquely Brighton. As well as Beachdown’s international line-up of acts I think this is one of the main reasons for last year’s event being such a success."

The bands will join an already impressive line-up including The Blockheads, St Etienne, Grandmaster Flash and Norman Jay. Click HERE for the latest line-up.

Shoreditch venue Favela Chic will also bring their vibe to the bash with a four-day residency in a purpose-built arena at the festival. Described as a restaurant, menagerie, circus, bordello, concept, art space, club, sound, party and bar, the residency looks to be very interesting indeed.

Hey Team,

I'm having a little campaign to go and sing songs in a TV competition. I know I know, its the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end as they say, but it had some cool bands in last year, so I though why not?

If you could be so kind as to goto this URL and say nice things, I would absolutely love it!!!!

Inside out, todays thoughts? 1053 giorni fa

Always a weird thing to sit and pour your thoughts into a blog. So I always kinda have to edit what I'm thinking, I suppose a blog should be like a diary, but sometimes it makes a huge amount of sense not to pour your heart out into a publicly viewable diary. In which case my first thought is, "What the hell is the point of it then?"

So I guess if this blog is to have a point, then I should wear my heart on my sleeve.

I have arrived back at home having spent the x-mas season, also known as "the drinking season" with family and friends. Spending crimbo day with my sister Hayley and her partner and son. So it was a quiet story reading kinda crimbo, but something kinda special too. Then my parents came over on boxing day for a meet up, all good......... more family and friends for new year, then a superb hangover and a trip home, yay.

Seemed pretty odd to get home, pretty dark, pretty cold, pretty glum, all that kinda vibe. Its weird when you move around a lot, you feel very disconnected from places and people, life kinda drifts. Dialogue dries up and faces look unfamiliar. Emotional moments turn into songs and life becomes a parody of your song writing process. But I guess that is why I write songs, cause I don't think I could really explain my bizarre inner working any other way, so it has developed into my explanatory tool. I think that is why my crumby artwork seems like part of my identity, just to explain further. The red room is where I generally write my songs, it is my dinning room really, but it is where I entertain friends in a none literal sense, so the room has a great vibe. So the picture feels like an introduction to my home, as well as the cover to the music, which in turn is the window to my thoughts. Wow, I'm really going on, somebody stop me, I think I will just post a picture of the room and you can take it from there.

Don't seem to be able to post pics here, links to pics if ya wanna see:

http://blog.myspace.com/oceanreid

Yes it is true, I don't have pictures of myself in my dinning room......

More later,

All the love,

Ocean xxxx
