| SPLIT FESTIVAL, SUNDERLAND Hi everyone! The Futureheads have an AMAZING gig coming up. We're playing in Sunderland on Sunday October 4th. It's gonna be brilliant, we're headlining a Sunderland music festival, so also on the bill are the incredible Field Music and Frankie and the Heartstrings. Plus other local acts Beak and Sea of Glass. It's gonna be a great day with other events on too. You can buy tickets here or from Hot Rats Records in Sunderland, RPM in Newcastle, or indeed from Ashbrooke Cricket Club itself. The gates will open around about 1pm and we’ll be going on early evening around about 8-9. It’s an outdoor gig, in a marquee incase it rains. There’s gonna be food stalls, drink, great bands, jugglers, fire breathers, fireworks. All sorts of crazy stuff going on. Should be a great day and an important gig for Sunderland – we’re looking to making at a yearly thing if the festival is a success. So yeah, get on your dancing shoes and get down! We’ll playing some of our very newest songs that we’ve just recorded and will be on our next album come the Spring – so this is the only chance you’ll get to hear them live before then. Just dropping a line to inform those whom it may concern the activities and adventures of The 'Heads over the past few weeks. This is longest we have been away in ages, festival season is in full swing and we have been stepping from country to country (well sleeping on a moving bus) playing as many as it is humanly possible. Thanks to everybody that saw us and danced and clapped etc. My favourite was in Holland, 'Music in my Head' was it's name and the crowd were superb. We also had the great honor and hair raising pleasure of supporting the Foo Fighters for two bloody massive gigs, one of which was at Wembley frickin Stadium. My word what a big place. Our dressing room was in next to the england team changing room, I had a sneeky shower while nobody was looking, using the 'luxury wembley' body wash. We came on to the stage through the 'tunnel', I had no choice but to sprint like an escaping convict as the stage was 1000 miles away and we'd already been introduced. It took the other boys by surprise, they must have thought i was a lunatic. Bless them. Strange to watch pigeons flying around inside a venue, I wonder what it sounded like for them, they seemed to enjoy us, didn't drop any shit on us or anything. Score. We are in New York at the minute, arrived last night. Our flight was delayed because George W Bush decided to pop in to London, the airport came to a standstill, we were on the runway staring at the beast that is Airforce One, surely it should be called Aircraft One as 'force' suggests lots of planes, I might bring that up with him the next time I see him. We are here to play The Bowery Ballroom and do loads of press, including a possible interview on a helicopter! Don't know how our words will be heard over the noise of the spinning things, then again all i'll be saying is 'HELP I'M ON A HELICOPTER, STOP TRYING TO DO STUNTS, I'M PAPPING MY PANTS'. We'll have to wait and see. It's been nearly 2 years since we last played over here, we are all really looking forward to it. This place is amazing. Bet you've never heard anyone say that before. | Hello to all and sundry, Thanks to everyone that like and bought our last single 'Twist', it did really well, blowing our expectations out of the water like air in a hot tub. This was an amazing way to start the album off, we are starting to gather speed now, the next step in our stride is upon us..... ‘Radio Heart’ is out now, it’s a b-movie science fiction love song that me and ross wrote at 3 in the morning on the last day of recording in Spain. It was a hilarious experience, both of us in fits of laughter on the floor of the live room. We hope you can get down to your local record shop and buy it, (or download it) we are very pleased with the art work, it’s a tasty little package for a reasonable price. The story continues, we continue to survive in the face of adversity, sticking it to the man is fun but we need your help to continue to make him nervous. See you in the mosh pit!!!
