News Just In…..

The atmosphere in the recording studio is really hotting up. There are too many creative forces at work in camp Hedron. So far we’ve had tantrums, slappings, broken dishes, smashed drum skins, a smashed drummer and an engineer walk out. Always when we start out, there is fun, laughter and nonsense but after a couple of weeks the tension sets in. It’s our artistic temperament and makes for a good record. Before you ask, we’re no where near finished the second album. You will know timescales in good time. So, sit back, relax and watch us on You Tube or something in the meantime.

You could of course come along to Café Rio on Hyndland Street, Glasgow and see us (Tippi & Soup) otherwise known as Patsy & Paris spin the steel wheels on Saturday 8th March. The night is called Discology so you’ll hear tracks that inspired us to pick instruments and play in bands. We’ll take great delight in playing tracks that influenced The Hedrons and we’ll also be downright indulgent which we’ll not apologise for.

You’ll need 3 items.

A pair of shoes good for dancing
Plenty of cash to buy us drinks since we’ll not charge on the door
Your lucky pants

See you there!

2007- 2007 - Year Round up of Life on the Road with The Hedrons 677 days ago

Hi Everyone,

As most of you will already know, I usually do a daily tour diary when I'm away playing gigs with The Hedrons that are published on my Bebo page and the Myspace. Well, I was asked by a website in America if I would mind doing a piece to sum up 2007, which was a very exciting time for the band. Well, my first ever published piece is up for you all to see! So, if you have a spare 10 minutes please have a gander. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

That's all for now!

King Tuts- The Aftermath!701 days ago

Good morning everybody!

I hope you all had fun last night, we certainly did! Going by the pounding headache I have, we must've celebrated well. I have just got in after peeling myself of Tippi's couch that I wish was another foot in length, then my spine wouldn't twisted right now! I crept out her flat at 9am this morning and left the place immaculate. It's as if I was never there, the perfect house guest really! It's a familar sight, the Soup standing at a bus stop in Glasgow's West End at the crack of dawn after a night out in the big smoke, looking a bit green about the gills trying to keep the watery mouth and stiff chin under control. I always take a poly bag with me for the short journey down to Central Station just in case the pot holes bring on a bout of regurgitation. Once I get to Central I've got the train journey form hell ahead of me. It takes nearly an hour to get to Gourock as the train stops at every lampost on the way. You've got to remember not to lean on the window incase the neds throw missiles (this is not uncommon) and not to sit in the carraige with the toilet cos the junkies are in and out it every 2 mins getting up to god-knows-what, casuing a draft every time the door opens. *Sigh* Well I'm in now and I look horrendous. I smell like a midden that's been left out on a hot summer's day so I'll wrap this up soon and crack open the bubble bath which should help dissolve the gig sweat.

Thanks everybody for coming out to see us and making last night really special. We had a great time on stage and I hope it showed in the performance. The bit that we all get most excited about is standing at the side door beside the stage waiting to go on. There's nothing better than peeking through the gap to see the front row all hanging over the barrier like coiled springs waiting to go mental. When the lights go out just before we go on, there's a huge roar from the crowd that makes us totally hyper and raring to go. We're usually jumping up and down like weans behind the door. I must say, I think the rope lights from Lidl looked great on the stage- they definitely enhanced the performace! You cannae beat £6.99 for them. They're cracking!

We took to the stage while Flower of Scotland was blaring. We wanted to play it as that's what we'd done in America but we wanted to hear people actually sing the words for a change! It was a magical moment. There's nothing like walking on and seeing everybody clapping and cheering; a great feeling when you know they're there for you! I have to admit we were quite nervous which is strange because we've played hundreds of gigs and it's no bother. Something about playing to a home crowd is nerve racking!

I hope you enjoyed the new intro and the new songs! Hopefully we'll get 5 minutes to ourselves in the new year and we can crack on with getting some others done. So keep checking the gig listings as there's no doubt that 2008 will be just as busy, if not busier than the last year! If only every crowd were like the King Tuts crowd. Maybe we should take you all with us, that would be quite good. We'd need a bigger bus mind you and Frank would probably have a nervous breakdown!

I've got a roll and bacon and tattie scone keeping warm under the grill so I'm off to stuck in. It's a Morton's roll too. The best there is! After that, I'll be right as rain!

Have a great Christmas everybody. I hope Santa is good to you! (Yes, if you're listening Mr Clause, I hope I've been good enough to get that Roland TD6KX so I can practice for the new album without annoying the neighbours!)

All the best for 2008!

Sunday 2nd December 2007 - Day 13 West Coast Tour- USA721 days ago

I woke up at 7:30am this morning, robbed of 30mins since the alarm was set to off at 8am. When I looked across the room, Tippi was STILL sleeping! I have to admit I did stare long enough to check that she was still breathing. She must’ve slept for about 36 hours. I felt awful too but it was self inflicted so I didn’t expect any sympathy from anyone. I decided to go straight to the shower before I really had time to think about it and was annoyed with myself for not packing before I went out the night before as I stumbled across clothes and bags strewn all over the floor in the dark. Getting ready with a hangover is bad enough never mind having to tackle packing too! When I finally got out the shower after wrestling with the taps for 15 minutes trying to get hot water, I woke Tippi up. She didn’t know what day it was. We got ready anyway and all the time I was chuckling away to myself thinking about the madness of the night before. I couldn’t remember if the helicopter bit was a dream until I stepped out the door and saw it in the car park. I walked into Gill & Rosie’s room and burst out laughing at the state of Gill the Spill. She was stare shape on the bed, not moving. Another casualty from the night before. Rosie was in her usual pre flight stance, sitting at the window wringing her hands nervously. She’s terrified of flying and as usual, hadn’t slept a wink all night for worrying about it. You’d b=never guess that her dad is a pilot!

By 9am, the van was loaded up and we set out on the 5 hour drive from Las Vegas to LA in silence. We were sad to be leaving and with the fuzzy heads and Tippi sitting up front looking green with a poly bag on her knee it was going to be an interesting journey. At 11am we were just under half way to LA and we were quite hungry. We pulled in at service area and went to Burger King for breakfast. The healing powers of a cheese burger and fries that early are magnificent! I felt like a new woman after it and soon the banter started flowing for the remainder of the journey. Tippi even had a peck at a chicken burger but ended up throwing it away. What a waste. If she wasn’t infected, I’d have eaten it!

The first stop when we arrived in LA was Ernesto’s house where we dropped him off and said our goodbyes. We’ll miss his mad dancing and patter. After that we had to go across town to the hire company to return the drum kit and the guitar amps. By this point it was about 3pm and both Gill and I were feeling more human. We got to the airport at 4pm where we dumped the van and tried to hide the massive chocolate stains on the front passenger seat. I think we got away with it. We off loaded the rest of the tea bags, “borrowed” hotel pillows and Ernesto’s forgotten baking trays to the ladies in the hire van place. We’re so generous!

We got to LAX Airport at about 4:30pm to discover that the plane was delayed by an hour and wouldn’t be leaving until 9:40pm. What a scunner. First things first, we thought- to the food court. Pasta was the order of the day and by then I was definitely back to normal. So much so that Frank’s suggestion of a beer (to get rid of our change of course) wasn’t such a bad idea after all. We wandered about the airport for hours and annoyed the woman at the Mac makeup counter several times. She was getting annoyed because we were asking questions and not actually buying anything. Well, I must point out that her makeup was horrendous. She looked like Christopher Biggins in drag- Widow Twankie-esque. I bought and eye shadow anyway and ignored her advice on how to plaster ones boat race in slap.

We were eventually called to board at about 9:20pm. Once we got comfortable on the plane and the annoying wean behind stopped kicking my seat, we got ready for take off. Just as we were trundling towards the runway, we about turned and headed for the cargo area. The captain informed us that the dumb asses at the airport hadn’t packed the plane correctly and put too many bags at the back of the plane causing us to be tail heavy. TWO HOURS LATER we were ready for take off when again we came to a halt as the weather had changed in that time and the pilots had to recalculate whatever it is they calculate. We eventually took off just before midnight. My bum was already numb at this point and we had 10 hours to go! Tippi puked up shortly after take off and had to be moved to a quiet seat so she could wretch away to her hearts content. There’s nothing worse that being sick on a plane though, You feel like everyone is watching you and there is no privacy so I felt really bad for her. On that note, the food on the plane wasn’t too bad. More pasta washed down with a cheeky glass of red. You can’t beat the British Airways for looking after you. The free bar is definitely a highlight. It’s a pity they can’t lock small annoying children who kick the back of your seat into and overhead cabinet. That would make for a much more pleasant flying experience.

We arrived at Heathrow at about 6:15pm UK time on Monday and already missed our connection up to Glasgow. That was a real bummer. I was starting to feel quite unwell towards the end of the flight and thought I’d caught Tippi’s virus thing. We had to run like the wind through Terminal 1 to meet the next shuttle we’d been booked onto. We had 5 minutes to do it in so I had no time to stop and puke. Tippi, who was feeling better, had to carry my duty free and with one hand I pulled my hand luggage and in the other clutched a sick bag. I was getting some funny looks as I boked into it whilst pacing along the travelator. We got to the check in desk for the connection with minutes to spare when we were told that the flight was delayed for an hour and a half. More hingin aboot! I crashed out across the seats recovering from my almost chundering moment but I was fine within about an hour. I think it was just tiredness. We eventually boarded the Glasgow flight at about 8:30pm and had landed at Glasgow after 10pm. It was great to be back on Scottish soil. Unfortunately our cases didn’t make the journey up from Heathrow but the guitars and cymbals did thank goodness! Who needs clothes when you’ve got guitars!

It’s now Tuesday so I thought I’d add a wee closer to the blog. I just got up from a great night’s sleep in my own bed. I’ve had 2 mugs of proper tea with Scottish water and big bowl of Scots porridge oats. Delicious. It’s great to be back. I’m waiting on my suitcase being delivered so I can get my washing done and stash the Christmas presents. I hope they’ve not been robbed.

The tour was absolutely brilliant. It was the shortest stint we’ve done but in that space of time we don’t doubt we’ve made the biggest impact across the pond to date. It was a brilliant opportunity for us to support Social Distortion who are like the Rolling Stones of California. Everybody in that area knows who they are. Their fans were brilliant and they really took to us. We can’t thank them enough for buying the CDs and spreading the word. I hope it won’t be to too long until we’re back.

It was a different tour experience for us this time as we were based in the same hotel for 10 days. I think the last tour made for more banter because we were couped up in the van for up to 12 hours some days and were sent round the twist a little! It was good to have a base this time where we could chill out before a show and get used to the slow pace of California. We were a bit more controlled with the eating this time too! Lessons were learned after the last tour and we did not clear plates like before. The portions were huge as ever and it took will power not to scoff the lot.

All in all America is great. I love the audiences there and the way that the music scene is not about fashionable music. Bands don’t have short lived careers in America like they do in the UK. Once the Radio One “Gurus” here have stopped blowing their trumpets about how amazing every indie band that they’ve ever heard is, then the band is forgotten about. The sooner commercial radio starts playing music for music fans the better. Until then, you should go onto internet radio as there are plenty of “undiscovered” gems being played on there.

That’s the tour diary at an end now. I hope you’ve all been suitably entertained and enlightened. I hope the victims in the blogs aren’t too upset and that I can be forgiven-mainly Frank. I hope you won’t leave us like all the other tour managers!
There were many antics and laughs on this trip. New levels were reached with regards to the biorhythms of the people travelling on the tour bus. I will not name names Frank but new ground has been broken. We all know each other inside out, it’s frightening. Gill and I have discovered that we’re telepathic too. When we’re all together, we’re just like sisters, Frank included- we fight, borrow each other’s clothes, slag each other off and know when to keep out other person’s way! Most of the time we have a right good laugh and are a great team which makes performing on stage every night an absolute pleasure. Long may it continue!

Over and out til next time!

Saturday 1st December 2007 - Day 12 West Coast Tour- USA721 days ago

What a horrendous sleep last night. By the time mid morning came, we had to call the doctor in for Tippi. It turns out she’d caught a virus and was given a shot in the bum to take away the back and stomach pain and stop the sickness. She was out the game with the shot so I made myself scarce and hit the Las Vegas Shopping Outlet. By the time I came back at 6pm, the Sparra was still sound asleep! So, I went out for a huge steak with Gill and came back again at 8pm to collect my gig gear. By that time, Tippi was sitting up but she was away with the birds and just really weak. There was no way she was able to play the gig so we had to cancel the show, something that we never do unless your arm is hanging off. As a compromise, we thought we’d DJ again at the Beauty Bar as there were a load of people coming down to the gig who saw us the night before at The House of Blues and we didn’t want to disappoint them. The manager agreed to it and was glad to have us there in some shape or form so it all worked out for the best.

Gill & I already arrived at the gig before it was opened so, along with Ernesto our PR guy, we explored some pubs in the vicinity- naturally. Every pub we went to seemed uninviting. They wouldn’t accept our photo card driver’s license as ID and insisted on seeing our passports. What a bunch of tossers. As if we’re going to carry around passports when hitting the town. We would end up losing them. Well, we stormed out of every pub that wouldn’t take our ID (when every other state we’ve been in does accept that) and found a great bar next door to the gig. There was a duke box, comfy seats, nice surroundings and reasonably priced beer. What more could we need?! After falling about laughing at Ernesto walking into a glass door we decided to leave and see what stage Frank N Faffer was at in negotiating our DJ set time at the Beauty Bar. He got 10 rock points since he got things sorted in a record 5 minutes AND blagged us bands for a free bar all night. Result!

When we walked into the venue it was pretty busy with people who’d seen us play with Social Distortion! We posed for loads of pictures with them and then took to the decks. It was quite good fun and I only fell out with Gill about 4 times for hovering drinks over my laptop in a precarious manner. We got loads of good rock n roll tunes on the go and a few dodgy dance numbers from Rosie. The free bar was abused by us all and Rosie drove us home to let Frankie wet his whistle for the first time on this tour! When we got to the car park of the hotel, I clocked a helicopter parked up for the night! Of course, myself and Gill (Rhythm and booze) had to go and inspect it. I climbed aboard and Gil took a few pics. I felt like Anika Rice on Challenge Anika. Shortly afterwards I fell in the door of my hotel room at about 2:30am and left Gill to wander into the hotel casino. That lassie is hardcore. It was lights out for me and I hoped the alcohol would scare off any germs from the Sparra who was still comatose.

The alarm was set for 8am.The hangover loomed and a grim 5 hour drive to LA.

Friday 30th November 2007 - Day 11 West Coast Tour- USA722 days ago

12:30pm

We’re in the bus on our way to Las Vegas! According to Tippi it’s fun day Friday but at the moment we feel a bit hungover and the weather is awful- not fun. We left LA at about 10:30 and decided to drop in at Indie 103 FM where Gill and I did and interview last week. The reason for landing in at the station was because Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols was going to be getting ready to start his weekly radio show. When Gill and I were last at the station we left a note for Steve that he must’ve seen already. The note said; “Dear Steve, The Hedrons kicked your ass last week at the SECC. Tell Johnny that he’s a big pussy cat and he doesn’t scare us, love Gill & Soup x”. So today when we turned up at the station, Steve was running late so we had to leave another note as we were tight for time on getting to Las Vegas. This time, the note read; “ Dear Steve, It’s your favourite girls here from The Hedrons. We thought we’d drop in our way to Las Vegas to say hello but had to boost since we might miss our sound check. We’ll definitely meet up next time we are in LA. Much stalker love, Soup, Rosie, Gill, Tippi xxxx”. We pinned a badge to it and left it on the door to the studio. We’re now listening to his program and he’s interviewing Santa, no not Santana….Santa! Hmmmmm…..! The traffic is horrendous and the roads are in a bad way with this rain as there are no drains so the place just floods. The heat in the bus is not good for the fuzzy heads but it’s either that or have steamie windows. We all had vegetable Burritos for breakfast/lunch which were lovely but the beans are having a volcanic effect on someone’s belly in this bus. That stench in this heat is melting faces more than one of Rosie’s solos. We’ll blame Frank.

16:30

Tired, tired, tired. Desert, desert, desert. We’re almost at Las Vegas and the rain here as been a nightmare. I thought it didn’t rain in deserts. The cacti are getting a good drink anyway. Our sound check is at 16:45 so we’re running a wee bit late. There’s a first for everything. I’ve jusr realised I’m going to have to dig my suitcase out the back of the van and get different clothes for the show tonight. I look like a burst couch to be honest. We’re currently on the outskirts of Las Vegas and the skyline has suddenly changed from road and salt flats to huge glitzy buildings, all singing, all dancing billboards and blinding neon lights. It’s bizarre how it just appears. Just wait til the Hedrons hit Vegas. It’s going to carnage again tonight!

Well, carnage indeed! We walked onstage to the best applause and cheers of the tour. Again, Flower of Scotland got the crowd going so by the time we walked on stage, they felt like extras in Braveheart. We rattled through the set earning more respect with every song. The Sparra took flight into the mosh pit and was tossed about a fair bit. Great crowd surfing action. She came back with teeth in tact and not a stitch missing from her clothing so they were kind.

As soon as we got to the dressing room, we grabbed a pile of CDs and all 4 of us dived into the crowd taking a different section each. We decided this is the best plan of action as people were not going to lose their spot for Social Distortion coming on so we intercepted their fans easily! We’ve managed to convert at least another 1000 people to the Hedrons. How amazing! Rosie and Tippi did an interview for ABC radio which is being broadcast to 1200 radio station across America so that was a big deal for us! You could say it was a busy night!

Once we managed to drag Gill and Rosie out the Casino at the gig, we made our way to our hotel through the bright lights of Las Vegas. We were completely wiped out when we got to our rooms. It’s hard work playing a set and then going straight into the crowd to sell before you’ve even caught your breath. I had no voice left from shouting my sales pitch! Tippi and I had been in our room for about 5 minutes and had started to get ready for the DJ set we were to play at The Beauty Bar when she turned an odd colour. A couple of minutes later she was in the bathroom throwing up. It was projectile vomit. Lovely. She wasn’t in a good way at all so we made the decision to go on and do the DJ set without her while she went straight to bed. We came back from the DJing at about 2am and fell into our beds. What a day. We were knackered. I wasn’t asleep for long when I was wakened by the awful wretching. The sound of Tippi screaming down the great white telephone every hour on the hour was fabulous! It eventually stopped at about 7am and I was able to sleep in til late. Things are not looking good for the last gig of the tour tonight.

Thursday 29th November 2007 - Day 10 West Coast Tour USA724 days ago

Well today was pretty much stress free. We were able to stay at the hotel all day which meant we had internet access so we were happy. We were booked to do an interview for the Eric Blair TV show at 3.30pm. It was an interview with a difference though. The presenter is a make up artist and as part of the show, made up our faces which we absolutely loved! We had false eyelashes and stunning eye makeup so we were delighted. We were filmed as he got to work on our fizzers which was good fun. The makeup was done in our hotel to make things easier (mine and Tippi’s room to be precise since ours is always tidy. Gill and Rosie live in a midden. They even had a cockroach the other day that was destroyed on sight. I am not surprised by this as there are Ritz crackers strewn all over the worktops.

I was sitting in my usual chair in my room with the door slightly ajar behind me. I was updating the Bebo or something when suddenly, the door swung open and banged off the back of my chair. I looked up to see 2 guys walk in like pack horses, laiden with camera gear, lights and various bags. They walked right past the table and dumped their stuff on Tippi’s bed saying, “Camera crew!” as the charged past and then walked out. I was left sitting there looking bemused. Once everything was set up he got to work on our makeup. We looked great and went to the gig at Spaceland in Silverlake in style! Once at the gig we were interviewed for about 30 mins by Eric. They also filmed some of our soundcheck. It was an enjoyable afternoon topped off by a visit to a Thai Restaurant in Silverlake for dinner. I think that has been the best meal of the tour.

After we ate, we had a couple of hours to kill, so we trotted down to the Seven Eleven for a Cerry-oot! Had to be done. We’re saving those PDs for Vegas! We had a couple of pre gig beers and had good chat with our booker, the lovely Ben and Ernesto, our even more lovely PR guy. We met some people who had been to see us at a gig in LA on the last tour and a band that we played with on the last tour also came along. It was good to see some familiar faces. We went on stage at about 11pm full of beans. It was a really good laugh actually although I don’t know why we were chuckling so much I just remember getting feeble hands which made it difficult to power through the set at times! There was good banter from Tippi on stage and the crowd really warmed to us. They got the threat of; “ If you don’t come down the front, then I’ll come to you!” It works everytime. It’s funny for us to watch boys cringe when Tippi walks right up to them, singing every word in their ear. The victim usually does one of the following; Stares straight ahead fixing their eyes onto some object in the distance that has suddenly become really interesting; starts randomly texting on their mobile phone hoping that she’ll just go away; start gulping their pint as if they’ve been deprived of liquids for a week. It’s amusing to watch from the stage. If they’d just loosen up and dance alongside the Sparra they’d get off the hook much more quickly. They’ll learn one of these days!

Once the show was over, we jumped straight into the audience and charmed our way to selling off another box of CDs. We got a wee cerry-oot for the bus from the lovely barman (those promo CDs are excellent bargaining tools) and made our back to the hotel. We were too hyper to go to sleep so all came into my room for a night cap. When the alarm went off this morning, it was an ugly moment. We’ll survive. We always do. To the slots in Las Vegas. Yay!

Wednesday 28th November 2007
Day 9 West Coast Tour USA

Well, today was quite a long day. We got up at about 9am with fuzzy heads after all the red wine and carry-on. Frank was waiting for us at the van at 10 ready to take us to the Internet TV Station, Vlaze for an interview and performance. When we were driving round the block for the third time looking for the place I was saying to the girls that I recognised the area and asked if it we’d been there before. They looked at me as if I was daft. “Of course not”, was the reply. I knew I recognised the sign for Subway on the overhead footpath and the random BBQ with half chickens on it at the entrance to the Freeway. But no, they were certain we hadn’t been in that area before. Well, we found the correct street and we drove up to a familiar sliding iron door. Rosie I think said; “Oh yeah, this is really like that place we were before”. It was the same place! There were apologies all round. They doubted me cos my nickname is R2 since I usually shuffle around like a wee lost robot bumping into things and forgetting the way out of venues or the way to the dressing rooms. Backstage areas are usually a maze of corridors hence the reason I get lost. Maybe I watched too much Labyrinth when I was wee. That image of David Bowie in tights has been burned onto my retinas!

We piled into the TV station which has changed its name from the last time we were there, hence the confusion. It seemed awful early to be banging on a drum kit and cranking up the amps. It was a struggle emptying the van and carting it onto the stage but it had to be done and the sooner the hard bit was over, the sooner we could get on with wakening up the neighbours with our melodic racket.

Once the performance was over and the interesting interview wrapped up we hit the road for San Diego. You would think after the last tour when we were travelling for at least 10 hours every day that’d we’d used to 2 hour drive to San Diego. This hasn’t really been the case at all. One hour into the journey my head was rolling forward with sleepiness. It felt like we’d been travelling for hours! On route to San Diego, we pulled in at a shopping outlet in Carisbad to part with the last of our cash on cheap clothes! It was a great place and we spent a couple of hours milling around. There was also a cracking diner where we had a high calorie lunch. Top banana!

It was about 6pm when we hit the road again for San Diego to the gig. Rosie had quite an uncomfortable journey as she’d bought strawberries drenched in chocolate and somehow sat on one without realising. The seat was covered in melted chocolate as were her jeans. It was like some kind of dirty protest. I think she should be getting the nickname, The Spill and not Gill. Yet again there was no leg room in the bus for the many shopping bags taking up valuable space. I’m going to start wearing my flight socks in the bus cos I’m sure the lack of movement in my seat is dangerous!

We arrived at venue at 7pm. As usual were first on the scene with nobody around, greeted by a chained up door. It was so inviting. The neighbourhood was bit scary so we sat in the van with the doors locked in the dark waiting on someone to come and open up. Eventually, someone on a motorcycle drove up and parked behind the bus. It was hard to tell if it was a male or female at first as they removed their helmet and shook their locks vigorously like a Pantene advert. It turned out to be the sound guy so he let us in and we got set up. The venue was a really cool place. It was fitted out like an old fashioned Beauty Parlour with seats along one wall with old over-the-head hairdryers attached, chequered floor and 50s style bar.

Once the place opened up to the public, the DJs played loads of 60s garage which was right up my street. We played a great set and met people afterwards who and been to see us play in Carisbad before. It was great to meet people who remembered us form the last tour and made the effort to come along and see us again.

We were dreading the drive back to LA (all 2 hours) so we ordered a Cargo (this is a collection of unopened beers) for the bus ride home. We got the laptop on the go, hooked up the speakers and played The Proclaimers at full volume and sang Letter to America and the top of our lungs. After about an hour of asking Frank to stop at a gas station so we could go to the lavvy, he EVENTUALLY pulled in. I’m sure he does that in purpose as punishment for singing out of tune and carrying on up the back of the bus when it’s 2am. Well his crabbiness just made us more hyper. Anyone overtaking the bus would be forgiven for thinking there were a pack of monkeys swinging from the handrails on board. Anyway, we got the doors of the gas station and were greeted by a wee man who looked like he’d won first place in a gurning competition. He informed us that he had to close the toilets because someone had come in earlier and smashed them up! What?! We were now worse than desperate so there was nothing else for it but to duke round the back of the car wash and suffocate the ants. You get my drift.
