| Too much to do and we have to go find the pics of the week. Updated the site with the lsat few and two funnier ones....everytime I see them they crack me up! Slainte was a slight bit of a disaster...PA almost blew but it was grand in the end. As you can see above the single is going to be available from the 7th of July for download only. | So our first single will be released for download only July 7th. It's called 'Cheat' and is being released in conjunction with Seeing Red Records. As ye can see from the tour-dates section we'll be playing a gig that night as the launch of the single so it'd be great to see a few friendly faces there!! Earlier today, a member of the band was almost a victim of a "hit and run". Well, to be honest, it would have been more along the lines of a "hit and cycle". At the handle bars was none other than, one time 2 arms broken, drummer of FRED Justin. This has been taken personally by Cordite as it was once reckoned these 2 bands may one day feature on a billing together. Maybe this issue could be settled with a game of soccer or something.........  | ||||

| Well, the pic has been changed so as that Ronan has a bit of a presence on this page.......cos he is way to lazy and suspicios of the internet and other technologies. He owns a gas van.....yes, one that actually runs on calor gas. You should hear some of his conspiracy theories!! And that Alan fella..... he couldnt engineer a puff of air not to mind a bridge. He hasnt been seen in days, cos he's "working" nights. (he can be found in random shops and petrol sations in the Midlands) As for Eoin, he's MIA after a a secret mission went belly-up in an unknown part of the world. finally there is Rory. Well he spends alot of time talking on the phone with random folk. He calls it telecommunications for businesses. We'd call it chat lines! Much Love!! | ||||

| Band and Album update (the serious side of us) | 951 days ago | ||

| We have spent the past week in that horrible limbo place between finishing the album and actually getting the nitty gritty details done. Registering names, getting IRSC numbers, printing, artwork, PR etc...it all takes it's toll. To boot, we have also had the question of our own ability - is this as good as it can be? Could we maybe have played that a bit better? Could we have saved some money here or could we have spent more there and ended up happier? All these questions have been floating through the minds of the band members in the past week or so and as a result we are all mentally knackered! Gigs are still on the horizon but we can't confirm anything as of yet. We have also been thinking about the future and what does it really mean to have a debut album finally finished? It's funny how you will always forget about what you have done and always start to think about what you have to do. We have managed to get so far and yet it feels like we are only beginning. There is no doubt in my mind that every band goes through this limbo phase at some stage - and the self questioning that accompanies it. I get the impression that once we get a few gigs together we will all be much happier! So for now we have to settle with doing the boring, mind bending and frankly awful administration stuff and concentrate less on the music. And who said the life of a rock band is entertaining?!?!? They should be shot! | ||||

| Its done!!! We have actually fully completed an album and it is now ready for print. After recording with Ross O'Donovan for 10 days and spending this afternoon in the company of Richard Dowling of wavmastering, the album is finished. Keep an eye out over the next few days as we'll be putting up some of the finished songs on this page for ye're listening pleasure!! All that is left to do is print the damn thing and well over a years work will finally be finished. Big thanks to Ross and Richard for the help and the time and effort and of course to all the band. This is a milestone for Cordite and a day that most of us at some point have thought would never come. CORDITE - DEBUT ALBUM - LIVE WITHIN THE LIE - IN SHOPS SOON! But before all that comes the single - Cheat - which you can listen to on the homepage and stay here for news in the next two weeks as to its availability. | ||||
