New song!!!!768 giorni fa

Ok, so the first of our new songs is processing here on myspace...so it should be on the player in a matter of hours, maybe minutes!...Maybe a day, but it's on its way people, and you'll be able to download it! The first song is 'You Win Phantapantz...For Now!' and as much as I (Barry) disagree with the name, it's an awesome song. It was recorded with Ryan Mitchell but this isn't the final mix. We're more proud of this material than anything we've ever written so let us know what you all think. Even if it's sayin "yous boys are shiiiite" after all, that's what the interweb is for, sleggin people who you probably won't see face to face never mind actually tell them whatt you think of them....all from the safety of your own home

Oh, and tell your friends if you have any, if not...tell somebody elses friends

Day 7

Final day, out in the country again to finish the vocals.

Usual room is taken so we improvise a vocal both in the sun-room using Ryan's sound blockers and an old wooden table, but not before playing a card game called "Shithead" and sharing some of Rick's more interesting text messages.

Did all the singing first, then screaming. Went like this:

Bright Lights & Sleepless Nights vocals and harmonies
The Word Over The Waves vocals
Untitled 2 vocals and harmonies
Brave New World harmonies

then

A pot noodle, Chicken and Mushroom and the channel 4 news (followed by yet another program about Obesity).

then

Bright Lights screaming
Brave New World screaming
The Word Over The Waves screaming

then

Fitzy arrived

then

We started mixing

then

We got picked up.

Interesting or what?

Alas, it is all over, just up to Ryan to mix it and lush it all up for us.

Day 6

Started late again today, about 4pm.

Got the vocals for Run done and a few bits of Brave New World done.

Murphy was rocking the bone again...wait that sounds like it could be very easily misconstrued. Oh well.

There was falsetto, there were problems, there was me sounding like a 13 yr old boy with a breaking voice...stupid gig hurting my stupid throat.

Ryan and I thought there was a problem with the breakdown vocals until we realised I was doing the harmony in reverse, so we left it as it was.

Every time I type realised, I type released first (I even did it that time).

Last day on Friday, starting at 1 and ending around 10. Uh oh!

'til then,
farewell

Adam

Day 5

Slept in! D'oh!

Arrived just after 2

- All guitar for Brave New World, done!
- All guitar for The Word Over The Waves, done!
- Acoustic guitar in Untitled 2, done!
- Piano in Run, done!

ONLY VOCALS LEFT TO DO! My Goodness, My Guiness

I appear to be picking up the slack of Ryan's joke telling. He's a long way to go, haha.

Today I was mostly eating a packet of Royster's, Ryan had a slice of cheese.

Murphy choose a fake bone over the tennis ball today, he says hello...or "woof", whatever.

Things are sounding well, bit of a surprise in Brave New World.

Day 4

Wow...day 4, already? Mad

Just me today, arrived at Ryan's house just before midday and dumped all my crap in his room. We started to set up and Murphy (the dog) decided it was time to play with the tennis ball, I was prepared to come round to his way of thinking but big mean Ryan told him no.

I was a machine today!

- All bass tracks done (sorry Sean)
- All guitar for Untitled 2 done
- All guitar for Run done
- All guitar for Bright Lights & Sleepless Nights done

Had fun with feedback in the outro to Run, she's a beast!

Used Ryan's Fender Strat for the intro to Bright Lights, got a dirty Callisto style clean tone. Yum yum!

I had a cup of tea, stomach cramps and a sort dizzy spell.

We laughed at Herman Li/Lee.

More tomorrow!

P.S - Manbits is a perfectly acceptable word to find on a word round of Countdown...nearly got the math one too.

Day 3

It's Sunday and I'm awake before 11am...ugh. Barry picks me up at half 1 and we head off to the big country house again.

We get there, set up and get ready to track the drums for the last two songs. Ryan keeps himself occupied, practising his joke repetition techniques.

First up is Run, which goes pretty well...it is the most straight-forward song on the cd.

Finally, Brave New World. Fast, tricky and eventually done!

Ryan takes some time to do some initial mixing and I decided to take a few photos of the place (these will follow). I had a massive sandwich that I brought with me and Barry had a sleep.

The day was drawing to a close so we decided to stick a bass track on Run before finishing up. Barry decided he could handle this and after locating a particularly impressive pubic hair, he got mic'd up and start twanging away. Sounds well.

Oh yea, THERE WAS A DEAD BIRD!

Day 2 & Gig838 giorni fa

Ok, so now we're gettin all arty and retiring to the countryside to access the centre of our creative zen type thing.

Ryan sang the hit song 'Chocolate Rain' to us for the first 3 hours, just to relax us, man that guy is good. He sang it acapella at first, then mixed it up a little, bustin out a melody on the mighty kazoo, he tuned it down to C though. After a few face melting kazoo solos, we got down to it. Another cunt of a day for me, but we got the most annyoing song done (Y). There was a raft, speculation leads us to believe that it may have sank, though who knows?

Lunch was a big dry crusty loaf, some crisps and a packet of yorkie biscuits, nutrition must always come first at times like these.

Then we played a gig, in the pavillion, again. Went way better than the last one there, but we're still a little short of perfect. The bands were cool. I bought a Jackalfeud demo, it is nice.

Day 1

Adam wakes up at 8.35am, Barry's still asleep and Fitzy probably never slept. After stumbling about for half an hour, we're good to go.

Arrived at Ryan's house just after 10am (thank you Sat Nav) and began to set up the drums. Somehow Barry has remembered to bring his shorts...and the wife-beater vest with the nipples cut out, but not his drum stool.

So, Barry's now playing drums on a kitchen chair, nice. We get stuck in to Bright Lights & Sleepless Nights and after getting used to it, we finish the drum track. We go up to the Jet garage to grab some food but there's no french bread for Barry so he gets a bunch of crisps instead. After eating and giving Murphy (the dog) a quick stroke, it's back to work.

Next up, Untitled 2. We reckon the intro is bit difficult so this song could take a bit of work but we get there in the end and the drum tracking again reaches a conclusion.

We tried to tackle The Word Over The Waves next, however Barry's pedal decided enough was enough and refused to cooperate further. So, I stuck on a bass track for Untitled 2 as Sean was missing in action and I was more familiar with the song.

All in all, a good first day and Ryan certainly knows what he's at.

Hopefully get a good chunk of the drums finished on Thursday.
