Future Shorts is back this June with an extremely high calibre programme of short films and music videos including the 2007 CANNES WINNER ‘VER LLOVER’ (Watching it Rain) from Mexico as well as the EUROPEAN PREMIERE of Alma Har’el’s music video ‘PA BAILAR CON JULIETA’ for the Bajofondo Tango Club. Also check out German thriller (and international festival sensation) ‘Between Walls’ alongside the first in the cult ‘Little Minx Exquisite Corpse’ series, plus many more cinematic treats including an R.E.M. music video from ‘Son of Rambow’ director Garth Jennings. The Irish lineup includes Ruth Lanigan's 'Unite' , a short look on the loneliness of commuting despite it being such a communal event. Also look out for Nicky Larkin's '72 Hours In Camden', a frantic free-flowing trip through the vibrant streets of London’s most famous borough, as it follows two aspiring rappers over the course of a long weekend. | Future Shorts Ireland, part of the Future Shorts International short film collective have brought together another exciting selection of both Irish and International work for your viewing pleasure. This month's International selection is a collection of love-fuelled and sex-themed short films and music videos from around the world. Highlights include the enchanting romance 'Tolya' from the Sam Spiegel school in Israel, Alma Har'el's stunning music video for Beirut, as well as the classic story 'On s'embrasse?' from France. Raw, sexy and damned entertaining, this is Future Shorts. The Recipe is as follows..... Preheat the smoking area and lay out tiered seating and bean bags plus giant FREE cups of tea and free hot popcorn. Add a pinch of music: Films start at 4pm followed by music into the night in our usual Saturday style. Wash it down with: A drink from the bar anytime all day. Future Shorts is launching its own channel on Joost, the new free online television platform. Future Shorts is set on bringing short film into the mainstream whilst raising its value and increasing the audience for short filmmakers. Having set up the largest short film exhibition platform in the world, we are looking to make the channel the most dynamic and exciting short film channel out there. The Channel will feature the very best from the Future Shorts festival as well as providing coverage from live film events and interviews with filmmakers and audiences alike. | Yay Halloween! This October we celebrate Halloween with a hard hitting and supremely stimulating collection of world cinema. (Sounds fun I know. We'll also try and get some more Halloweenish shorts in there too.) | Future Shorts July Screening This month we will be showing a purely Irish selection, with a nice mix of art, documentary, and Coulrophobia (the fear of clowns). It's festival season, so this will most likely be our last screening in Dame Lane for the summer, so come and enjoy the lovely couches for one last time before school's back in 25 July 207 4 Dame Lane 8pm €5 in. | Future Shorts swings into May with another tour de force of cinematic acrobatics. This months programme of short films features David Russo's supreme 'I am not Van Gogh' which narrates a confused artist's pitch to a US film festival panel. This features alongside Daniel Elliott dark and moving The Making of Parts', a production from Newcastle which took home the Venice Film Festival short film prize in 2006. | |||

Future Shorts ireland is proud to announce it's first screening in the wonderful city of Cork! Long overdue, but highly anticipated - the first Future Shorts Cork will take place on the 2nd May in the Roundy Bar, Castle street. Full Details are yet to be confirmed, but expect a dazzling array of short, wonderous films accompanied by some local treats, and a mystery band! Oh the intrigue! Oh the suspence!
