Unlike his father, he despises others of a dark origin, knowing how they work for they are alike himself. A chip off the ol' block in terms of his element, but Sei detests his fathers other attributes.

Throughout his life, the boy has been desperately searching for the approval of others, submissive & quiet in order to make everyone happy. He hates to be the cause of someone's grief, & that may stem from the history of how he was born. But really he is just searching for who he really is.
