Welcome.
Please leave your pre-conceived notions at the door.
We use nihilism as a viewpoint, not as a belief, since that in itself is un-nihilistic.
We believe that various influences are degrading our society, even humanity, as a whole.
Morals: These corrupt the mind and obscure the truth of what things actually are. While these may have a use in smaller groups of people, in places like a government, where decisions are made that affect large groups of people, not just individuals, these are actually detrimental to the group. An example of this is abortion. According to moralistic Catholics, unborn children should not be allowed to be killed. When viewed through the lens of nihilism (or logic), we see that a mere teenager, or a woman in bad circumstances, or even the fact that a woman who didn't want children in the first place, will not rear their children effectively.

Meet The Wretched
Let's have a change of pace shall we? Instead of tackling the complex and simplistic...let us have a look at the human mind as a whole: Sin, Vice, morality.
Three things that every human commits and has the ability to commit. "Every human being has the potential to commit good and evil acts."
We've seen that one cannot title good and evil in generalized terms, we've even looked at morality. Sin and Vice are religious terms, but even so...any act of self-gratification (hedonism) could be considered as such. For example, "A sin against man" would be one man killing another in order to have his wife. This is shown in Hamlet. Hamlet's uncle kills his father then marries his mother (A tad incestuous...but oh well.)
With that out of the way, common day sins against the nature of man:
Smoking - Releasing hormones from the pituitary for a 'high' or sorts.
Over-active sex drive - Pleasing one's self before the partner, would be the closest we can come too. Although lust in itself is human nature.
Alcoholicism - Excessive drinking can be bad, this is my 'sin' or 'vice', not just biologically but also in the clarity of the mind.
Not a major thing really, more of a pittance. But take myself for example. I commit all three...I suppose that would make me a sinner. But if one can find me a single human being in the entire world who hasn't pleased himself/herself before others...I will bow my head and admit ignorance and idiocy.
Of course one will question how this has to do with nihilism. Normally I'd say in the perception, the breaking down. However that is not the case this time.
Nietzsche wrote, "Will is the power of man; willingfulness of women." A rough paraphrase. But if man has the will, then he would be responsible. Now, reciprocate the actions onto a woman...would that make her clear of blame? Not at all.
This is a criticism, not an example of application.
I have run out steam sadly, I shall finish this on another day.

Justice the greatest 'injustice' of them all.
To quote a rather popular book, "War is Peace". A rough paraphrase.
War, a great many people have wondered about this topic. But what is war, truly. People have described war as "a contest carried on by force of arms, as in a series of battles or campaigns". In a more populace based context, war is the act of passing righteous judgement upon the evil of the world.
If we looked at it objectively: There exist two sides of every conflict, each side fighting for their sense of 'justice'. In that sense, pushing one's own sense of justice upon another could be considered an injustice.
War is, of course, the easiest form of this rant on justice and injustice.
Justice - the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness.
Injustice - the quality or fact of being unjust; inequity.
If one were to take these with absolute meaning, then no shades of grey exist. Therefore it would seem possible that all could be defined as just or unjust. Theory is often different when put into practice. Different ideals lead too very different views. This of course is commonly known, elitists often use this as their starting point.
Perhaps one could apply a satyr to the world's views of justice. Or perhaps it has already been done. Movies based upon War for instance, can be considered a Satyr by the nations that had opposed them. The constant heroics would be called an attempt at hiding the cowardice. But that is all relative.
Many words exist, all to describe positive and negative concepts. However seeing as it depends upon perception, are not those words without meaning?
I've gotten off track yet again.
Justice and Injustice, many ornamental words can be placed in their stead. The fact remains, by pursuing justice we inherently perform injustice. By subjugating someone to our sense of justice we commit the very thing we seek to erradicate.
Another perfect example in simplified terms: A soldier.
A soldier is called a saviour, a defender. A liberator. With all these titles cast aside there remains only one; Murderer. Any amount of justification cannot change the fact that in the name of righteousness, or god, they take the life of another human being. Is that not one of the direct commands of God, as said in the Bible? In short, a soldier is a murderer for reasons all his own, a particle of proof...justice is injustice and vice versa.
Mmm, I seem to keep the sense of "contradiction" well within all my rants...how amusing. Farewell good readers, until the next.

Good and Evil (The worth of a life.)
Since time in memoria there has been the constant battle of opinion, most prevalent of which is the existence of "Good and Evil". Good; the essence of morality, the correct, obligation of the masses. Evil; the immoral, an inescapable generalization of anything that is irrelevent to our sense of justice. But what then is Good and evil? Can a man take the life of another's in anger and be labelled a hero? Can a man take another's life in the name of freedom and be labelled a murderer? Mmm, truly ironic.
On the subject of life's material worth...why then do we wage war? Do not the masses call bloodshed immoral? Isn't it evil? Each second ticks upon our clocks, a split second decision based upon illusion...what is evil and good. Is that decision not the epitomy of injustice? Prosecution, execution. What are these terms and how are they applied to ourselves? We prosecute the masses based upon our self-inflicted ignorance, we execute the whims of our erant bliss. All int he name of what? In the name of justice, of good. So in the end it can be assumed that all humans are two-faced, immoral and moral. This stems from the logical, and the illogical.
As any Nihilist can see, the disconnected thoughts...are all complimentary. Nietzsche's philosophical points are apparent well within here.
Back to the main concept at hand, Good and Evil. With our past enshrouded in the biased opinions of others, our lives are abstract - They always were...- But this is arbitrary. Imagine, if you will, that life and death are two equidistant points. Which is the one we inevitably head too? With that in mind, think of Good and Evil in similar terms. Inherently we like to believe that we head towards the "Good". But to quote someone, "The path to hell is paved with good intentions."
Think now of your emotions, are they not swayed by the general opinion. Do you not feel yourself heading towards the aesthetic, a pleasant ephemeral mirage.
In the end however...all things amount to nothing, for all the metaphors that have been slung about...they are nothing and yet everything. To elaborate...the words I am writing in, even this explanation of it, were made by humans. We do not know that the words we speak truly mean what we infer. A mere implication. So accumulate this belligerant form of indoctrination...feel this 'wisdom' fill your mind. Freedom is merely a concept that we know nothing about. So relish in your self-induced hysteria when things go awry, wallow in your self-pity when you realize the totalitarian nature of the world. Relinquish your capricious heart to material items that have no true worth.
By this I mean:
When the world finally stops turning -if it ever does- shall we finally see whether or not we were right or wrong. Life does not constitute free will, love does not guarantee happiness. With all these things inside your head...will you be the paranoid, or the disillusioned. As written in the Holy Bible, "The Meek shall inherit the world" This is metaphorically correct. The meek, or those not capable of overcoming the flaws of intelligence, will be the ones deified.
Once again, in closing I leave off with a Latin quote;
Nomine et dominus, est amor mori? Memento Mori.
English Translation: Name the master, is love mortality? Remember your mortality.

Nihilism 101

For those of you who know little about Nihilism, this is the beginner's thread.0 Reacties 74 weken
First, a very brief overview.
Nihilism, when deconstructed, has a latin root word. That being nihil, meaning nothing.
There exists two types of "Nihlists" The post-modern Deconstructionists, and "Classic" nihilists (Also known as Nietzschian Nihilist.) Regardless of which type you are, the basis is the same. Deconstruct this supposed 'reality' find 'meaning' and attempt to discover the absolute truth.
Nietzsche wrote that Nihilism was the greatest crisis of faith man could ever undergo. In all actuality he abhorred the very philosophical view we attribute him with. But it did have its use in his eyes, he understood that. Simple slinging of abstract concepts did not make one an intellectual. Finding the relation between all things, does. Nihilism is simply a way of breaking down the basics of everything, relating it with one main idea. In my perception that is contradiction.
Many will say that Nihilism is the 'belief' in nothing. That is incorrect for two reasons:
1. Nihilism is not a belief, it is a philosophical ideal, a perception of the circumstances we are thrust into.
2. Even if it were a belief, belief in nothing is still the belief in something. (The paradox.)
To define the two types of Nihilists:
Post Modern Deconstructionists - Deconstruction of all things on modern society, commonly referred to as "heretics", "Political Dissidents". Etc...etc. These exist in order to deconstruct everything in order to disprove it, to shine the light of 'truth' upon an idea, a meaning.
Nietzschian Nihilists - They 'exist' also to deconstruct everything, but not only modern day subjects. Not only that..there is no reasoning behind the deconstruction, people will apply a meaning only after the deconstruction. They start out deconstructing to deconstruct, if they find a relation afterwards...they will give it meaning, but only then. Also there is no absolute truth, not even shades of grey. There is 'nothing'. Yet nothing is something, as I've often said.
If I have left anything out, I'm sure my brethren will continue on. If I have misunderstood something I shall be corrected. That is how we work, whether you understand or not...is a matter of perception.
As the group's creator said, leave your pre-conceived notions at the door, you shall have no need for them. I make no promises that this will greatly change your life. But it shall open your eyes to a new world, please...enjoy your time reading and contributing. -
Logical reasoning, the existence of Logic.

Nietzsche said that logic stems from illogic.2 Reacties 74 weken
By this he meant that through the process of using illogic one came upon logic. This is what we would call Trial and Error. Now this has lead us to Common Knowledge, or sense. But, I'd like too hear some opinions on logic and illogic.
My own is as follows:
1. Logic is the basis on which we base our perceptions. By thinking that something is illogic we believe the opposite action to be logical.
2. By doing what is logical, we then define the illogical.
3. By doing these things we then solidify and give foundation to the existence of logic and illogic.
4. We then move onto other complex forms of logic and illogic. What we have faith in, what we don't. What love is, and what it isn't. Etc...etc.
Now please, I wish to see other people's views.

Nietzsche wasnt a nihilist.
He championed the great Dionysiac affirmation of existence and i dont know why he gets tagged as a nihilist - he only ever had critical things to say of the nihilist mindset, as anyone who'd read even one of his books would know.
Abortion is inhumane! Only by destroying the foundations can we build anew.
Perhaps those who wish to comment on Nihilism should find out what it actually is? It could prevent many arguments
