In love...
Venice is the most beautiful place in the world - far more incredible than you could possibly imagine.

I had one of, if not the best, day of my life - got lost amongst the canals and corridors, went on a gondola ride at dusk, sipped wine and was serenaded by the gondolier - and to finish the night I went to a little Italian restaurant where the locals eat and had the best food I have ever had in my life. At the end of the magical evening the old Italian waiters gave me a present, a venetian mascaraed mask which is just beautiful.

And the country from Austria to Venice was eqaully as beautiful - one green mountain rolls into the next and the track was lined with cottages that I'm sure have been in families for generations.

I have now left Venice, but my heart will remain there forever.

VIVA ESPANA - OLE OLE OLE OLE!!!
From the German victory witnessed in Berlin, to the Spanish victory witnessed in Prague - and on to the beast of all footy beasts, the Euro 08 Final in Vienna - I am now 100% utterly and completely converted to a Euro football fan!

The atmosphere was incredible - the passion consumes you into a world of facepaint, beer, chanting and more beer - and the football fever leaves you yearning for more...

Picture this - hundreds of thousands of excitable screaming fans, draped from head to toe in team colours, lining the streets in all directions for as far as the eye can see, all praying for one thing - to score victory.

The Spanish fans - making up for what they lacked in numbers with their sheer passion - made for an unforgettable experience - and when Spain, the underdog, came up and stole the victory, the atmosphere was indescribable!

What a pain in the tooth...
OK, the 'bad things come in threes' theory is alive and kicking strong...

Hit number three to my spell of unhealthy bad luck, my wisdom tooth has decided to come through (seriously, wasn't that suppose to happen like 5 years ago for me?) and is causing me a great deal of pain. It started a couple of days ago, and I didn't think much of it, but it has continued to get progressively worse to the point that is now so inflamed that when I clench my teeth/bite down my top gums and teeth and pushing down in the swollen gum :(

Soo, I had to pay the Dentist a visit - as if the Dentist isn't bad enough already, little alone being stuck in a foreign country, with a foreign health system and a Dentist who used the words 'Up like Mushroom' to describe the scientific process of wisdom tooth growth.

From the little English he did speak, I managed to find out that there is not enough room for the tooth to come through, and I will have to have it taken out at some point, but first we have to deal with the inflamation - so he gave my a course of antibiotics, a syringe and solution to inject into the gum that is still covering half the tooth (it's as pleasant as it sounds...)

BUT... The spell should be over now! And for that it is time to celebrate and embrace this football fever - for all those Euro fans, I think you're going to love the next vid ;)

Hæ Amy,
it's always a great pleasure to follow your adventures. The vid in Poland is really contrasted with the other ones. I don't know myself , if one day I will see this, even if I'm half-jew ... I know I have to. But you did it, and I admire it.
Go girls go and make us travelling with you.

yea I was looking into that. Expect I can;t seen to get a train from Vienna to Spain. Which I find hard to believe :S

I'll see what I can organise. Although I do have to be in Germany to pick up a parcel before I head to the UK. So don't want to do too much backtracking I can't afford to much of that!

Hey sis!

I just went to the Holocaust exibit here in Jerusalem and wow, there was obviously alot written about Auschwitz and the films to back it up. It was bad enough just reading about it, cant imagine actually being there.

As for these dates... hmmmm.
I will defiantly be making an effort to see you in the UK. Because I'll be in South Hampton at that time. But If I have it my way there is NO WAY I'm letting you go to Ibiza alone. Only all the greatest clubs of all time exist on that little island!

You have been traveling Europe for a while now and I know you probably dont take any notice of it because you dont have to worry about paying for it but whats the cheapest way to get around? Poor Matty here has a tight budget that has to be kept, and unfortunately travel food and accommodation are HORRENDOUS especially in Europe! So pretty much what I'm asking is whats the cheapest way for me to get from Vienna (Austria) across to Spain?

Amy, your Auschwitz video touched a nerve with me as my Welsh uncle,Jack Edwards, was a prisoner of war, albeit in Japan, & a witness at the Nuremburg trials.
He wrote a book about his experiences & campaigned for the rights of ex prisoners of war & their widows. Jack dedicated his life to raising people's awareness of this heartbreaking subject & was awarded the OBE & MBE in recognition of this.
Well done Amy & Liz for producing a sensitive report on a very emotive subject.

Owch sis.
That last video looked hard to handle!

History lessons just don't touch on reality do they! Its like another world seeing the places first hand. Reality vs text books, there is no comparison! I remember when I saw the Colosseum I could literally feel the death hanging in the air. Errie.

Anyway turns out I might be going for a trek through the Middle East just because I want to be different and none of you gappies are doing it. If we are going to truly cover the world then the middle east is a vital part. I'll have to put my own clips together. Although it does depend on money. And I'd like to see you before you leave Europe so hit me up with some dates!

Amy you party champ, you rock. I 'm a fellow NZer so it's cool to see the 2 from down under going for it. Thanks for going to the concentration camps, it give us an in site as to what went on there too. It's not nice but like you sad, text books don't even come close to what you can feel when your really there.

Will look at adding Auschwitz to my world travles.

Full moon party was IMMENSE to say the least. Although it was tough on the stomach the next evening. I still havent fully recovered. I havent eaten properly in 4days. :(

Sweet wellll I was actually thinking of extending my time in Israel depending on whats happening when I get there. But I want to get some snorkeling done at some stage as well as everything else Israel has to offer. So I might be there for a few weeks.

All depends on my immigration situation to the UK. Can you just email me ur destinations between the 3rd July and the 30th July? Sorry to be a pain but I need to know where I am getting my Kiwi passport sent to. Hopefully we will be able to chill for a while and you can share all your crazy stories with me :D
