Every $40 you raise helps to feed and care for 5 children for 1 month.
The Global Food Crisis is into its second year... and you probably didn't even know it.
In the past year, over 100 million more people have been affected by a food crisis. Reckon that means no ice cream in the freezer? Think again!
For many it means just one small meal a day. Sometimes it means no breakfast, no lunch, no snacks, no drinks, no dinner. Nada, nothing, nought.
Children are suffering as families and whole communities struggle to feed themselves.

We're off to Cambodia
Hey everyone,
We're in Cambodia over the next week for the 2009 40 Hour Famine Study Tour with our Youth Ambassadors: Ashlee, Cory, Jesse, Joseph, Jocelyn, Lennon and Naomi.
We'll be meeting people in Phnom Penh and Battambang who are seriously hungry... wish us luck. We'll be back on Sunday, Jan 25.
If you would like to follow our progress, keep an eye on our status updates. We'll be posting some stories wehn we return.

hi, i was wondering if it was cool not to give up food, coz i take medication that needs to be taken with a meal...but i'm planning to give up techology, music my bed and sleep in my backyard in a tent.

Hi I'm doing the forty hour famine but my friends aren't the giving type and will probably say no so I don't know how I am going to be able to reach my target of $80. I know it's low but I didn't want to aim high and then not do very well. I've got a blog on my Bebo page telling people to go to donate but i don't think many people will donate. What should I do?

You guys have some awesome ideas for what to go without for the Famine this year! Furniture, technology, sleeping in cardboard boxes- all great ways to not only get a better idea of how people in poverty live every day- but sounds like your group experiences are going to be EPIC! Loving your work, keep the ideas coming!
