Initially defensive, cautious hues narrowed in the prying light, scanning the girl's slim form, trying to remember....She had known his name, so that gave him a start. Searching her visage, his eyes widened with a flicker of recognition, proclaiming in response; "...Alee? That you, darlin'? Ain't this the damnest..." Swinging a leg over the bike, he got off it and stood in the mud and rain opposite Alee, slightly humbled and amused by her warning.
"If only it were that simple. It'd take a lot more than tumbling off road in a wretched downpour tah off me."Giving the girl a half smile, he touched the handlebars of his bike.
"I could ask ya the same thing, though. What are yah doin' 'ere?"

Head shifting at the sound of the blaring horn, Logan would slow down and skid to a halt a safe distance away from the jeep, kicking up a spray of mud in his wake. Idling the engine, he kicked out the bike's stand and sat back on his seat. He had positioned the bike in such a way that it ran nose to tail parallel with the vehicle's bonnet. In the glaring rays of the headlights, he appeared hirsuit, feral and mean. Hard to consider him a man, even, as even when he motioned to speak he had a voice like dirt, throaty and almost animalistic.
"'Ey bub, what's yer game. You're th' one takin' up the whole damn road 'ere!"

Trundling along the road, the wind and rain collaborated to slam against his face. The deludge had worsened and he had gotten so wet that water streamed off of his portly form in small rivers. The wet conditions had made riding perilous, not to mention using a road that'd gone from being tarmac to parched earth to slick mud all in the space of a few minutes. One or twice he nearly lost control and veered over the edge as the mud track snaked up through the mountains and around wide bends. He got lucky...but how long would his winning streak last?

Boom!
A crack of brilliant night flashes in the slate winter sky, swiftly fading darkness black as pitch with the advent of night time. Rain trickled down in endless sheets. The downpour was stiffening; it was the type of cold that permeated right through to bones, and linger there for a while. The motorbike thundered triumphantly, a reflection of the active heaven's own drums as it rolled to a stop next to a sign post. It read; Sᴇᴀᴛᴛʟᴇ Cɪᴛʏ, ᴛʜɪʀᴛʏ-ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ᴍɪʟᴇs.

Pulling back on the throttle, he adjusted his feet on the foot rests. Then Logan gunned the engine, and continued on the road for another 5 miles until a second sign halted his progress. Not as big or road-worthy as the previous one, this sign was much smaller and of crude construction. The picket post informed him that the road ahead had been shut down due to flooding, and advised travellers to pursue alternative routes into the city.
Logan grumbled, as more lightning tore fissures in the skyline. It seemed this whole journey was destined for disaster. He hadn't been on the road ten minutes when the rain started to fall. Was completely soaked to the skin a full six minutes later as he zoomed down the highway.

Fortunately, on the other side of the road to the picket sign sat an electric billboard that read 'Detour' in digitalised font, an arrow beside it pointing at a slip road several dozen metres up ahead that led onto a secondary road, paralleled by lush, coniferous foliage on either side of a sloping path. Left with little alternative, and fancying a change of scenery, Logan leaned to the side and guided the bike towards the diverging path as rain continued to pour, thunder and lightning waging war above, both combining to cast a grim shadow on the lone biker, going off track.

Whichever you wanna do, we can try. I'm not fussed.
